I brought my vehicle in on September 13th, 2024, for a diagnostic service, as I suspected the issue was a failing starter. Appointment was at 8:00 AM and was told there would be a delay, which I initially understood. However, my vehicle was not looked at until around 12:00 PM, and by 3:00 PM I was still being told that no diagnosis had been determined. By 5:00 PM, I was informed that they still did not know what was wrong with my car and attempted to charge me for a diagnostic service--despite not providing any actual diagnosis. When I returned to my vehicle in the parking lot, it would not start at all. I went back inside to report this, and only then was I told that the issue was "likely the starter"--the same concern I had communicated from the beginning of the day. This experience was extremely frustrating. I had clearly explained the suspected issue early on, yet it was not properly addressed until after my car became completely inoperable while in their care. The situation raised serious concerns about the thoroughness and professionalism of the service.After speaking with the manager, I was told they would complete the repair that same day. Given the circumstances, I felt I had no choice but to proceed with the repair there especially after being told by staff that my vehicle could not remain in the parking lot and would be towed if left overnight. The cost for the starter replacement was approximately $600, which I found to be significantly higher than expected. Additionally, the waiting area was unclean and uncomfortable, with birds inside the lobby creating noise and an unsanitary environment. As of April 14, 2026, I have begun experiencing issues starting my vehicle again, which raises further concerns about the quality and longevity of the repair that was performed. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The lack of timely diagnosis, poor communication, and questionable service practices have ensured that I will not return. I have been going to Patterson Auto Body for many, many months and its my " go-to" place for auto repair, general automotive maintenance and body work when needed. Service was immediate and responsive. Having a great automotive service team in the community is equivalent to having a good internist. The folks are exemplary in their kindness, thoughtfulness and automotive-service acumen What a great resource. Regrettably we humans are an odd lot in that personal satisfaction varies greatly among us. So very disappointed with the idea of going to Patterson Autobody for an oil change and finding out that there is no masking at this operation. The attendant told me he would put a mask on if I wanted. As a very happy customer for a couple of years and seeing there adds promoting how safe and how they careful they are during this pandemic, sanitation station and social distance markers on the floor are for nothing. I was pleasantly surprised with the courtesy of the staff and how they seem to go above and beyond just repairing your car. My car was in the body shop for about a month for repairs from a minor accident. Part of that time was having the car sent to the Infiniti dealer to realign the cameras and sensors. A few things that stood out for me: 1. That car was due for inspection. When I called and asked them to inspect it while they had it in the shop, they immediately gave me a status of the body/repair work without me even asking. Oh and I don't think they charged me for the inspection if I remember correctly, which I think is part of their policy to include free inspection for repair work. 2. When I picked up the car, I was surprised to see that the whole car, inside and out, was clean! And not just a quick vacuum, seemed like a full detail. I have two small kids so the car wasn't exactly neat when I dropped it off. 3. Also when I picked up my repaired car, on a Friday afternoon I asked if I could leave another car to be inspected over the weekend. They told me they were booked and couldn't get to it until Monday. I said that's ok I'll try somewhere else. They said give me your key, we'll get it done Saturday. And they did. This place clearly takes pride in treating the customer first. There's a few businesses in the area that set a great example of how customers should be treated, and this is certainly one of them. read more

We happened to be trying to leave Patterson when we reailzed that our windshield wipers werent working and we really needed to go to an auto shop to get a new one, However since it was raining so hard, we weren't able to get too far. So we pulled over here to seek help since we had no idea where to go next. The husband went in and apparently they are two shops that own the same space. One side, the autobody side, didnt have the part, however, the other side did and they were able to install in within 30 minutes. First time there, my sons car engine light went on, they took us in right away said he needed valve cover gasket and should get the spark plugs replaced (car has only 45000 miles) if he didnt then it would make a clicking noise when he gets @ 60k miles on it. So we went for it now $450 dollars later the car is making a terrible noise and they said that therea nothing wrong with it! It was quiet before they touched it!! Very upset about 4/18 recd response from the owner to rectify the problem, very impressed with the quick response!! I recently brought my VW Touareg SUV here after I was broadsided by a lady who would rather talk on her cell phone than stop at a stop sign. The process couldn't have been easier. An insurance adjuster came to my house, wrote up an estimate and printed out a check for the repair. I took the car to Patterson Auto Body. They didn't even have to look at the car. They said they'd deal with the insurance company if there were any discrepancies in the estimate. There were, but I didn't have to get involved. When I dropped off the car, Patterson Auto Body provided a rental car and charged it directly to the insurance company since they have a Hertz desk on-site. I picked up the car a week later and it was spotlessly clean inside and out - like a new car. The body work and refinishing were flawless. This shop has my wholehearted endorsement. It's a shame this place has such terrible reviews! After our car needed some body work after meeting (and losing) against a stone wall, we asked a couple neighbors who they would recommend and all said Patterson Auto Body. We were able to at least drive the car to the body shop to leave it there for the insurance adjuster to come out and see. We arrived at PAB maybe 20 minutes before closing and they were very accommodating and Rich was great from start to finish. He walked us through what would ultimately be needed and worked directly with our insurance adjuster. Rich kept us updated on the process from start to finish and I never felt worried or alarmed or left in the dark. Since they have the convenience shop on premise, you're able to make payments and pick your car up from them if you can't get to the shop during normal business hours, which is what I did. Payment was super easy as I simply wrote the insurance check over to them and paid the deductible within the store. The car looks great and I'm glad we asked around, rather than go on the assumption of the Yelp reviews. read more

Just had the absolute WORST experience here...not only did they say that they would work with us on the charges and repairs to the car but then they used the car and ran up 50+ miles on it, broke the $115 keyfob to the car and didn't do anything to the bumper they submitted to insurance for payment on. They took it off, apparently to repair the SIDE of the car, however, they flexed it and cracked the paint in a few spots and never repaired the 6" gash in the paint. They have the worst customer service and are in cahoots with the adjustors, agreeing to do work and then not doing it. The adjuster even denied the broken keyfob and the extra mileage when we found that they had added their ipod to the bluetooth in the car! BUSTED! Will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! I TRIED TO "GO LOCAL" but it was a BIG MISTAKE! read more

I dropped my 2001 Buick century off for a diagnosis . Had knocking noise in the bottom of the engine area. Next day I found out they diagnosed the car and it had a flywheel issue. The flywheel had to be replaced but they refused to compete the job due to the age of the car. Apparently they were afraid other problems could resurface during the repair. I was charged $94.73 plus tax since they said it took them 1 hour to figure the problem out. I took the car to another shop where they replaced the flywheel for $890. This was 2 months ago. The car is perfect , has no issues after driving 10k miles. The conclusion: Patterson Auto Body provides no free estimates as their websites states and very disappointed they did not fix my car. I paid out $102.66 and lost that amount. The employees conducted themselves in a professional manner but obviously cannot recommend them to anyone. read more

After having had reviews from two other mechanics that I would have to give up my car due to an engine light that wouldn't go off, Patterson Auto body approached the problem step by step getting my approval at each juncture. Another problem was that I couldn't pass NYS inspection. Well, in the end, they DID find out what the problem was and they SOLVED it. Not only that, but they went over the charges in detail and gave me a predictable pick up date and time. I was able to keep my car after all. Not only that, they drove me home and picked up as necessary --- a surprise they vaccumed it out before I picked it up. The expertise they showed (particularly when two other stations told me to give up the car), the extreme courtesy they exhibited and the extra care was simply out of bounds. I've been here numerous times for different reasons. My last visit was to fix a steering problem. They fixed everything and didn't charge me anything extra which most auto body shops tend to do to young women. I went to pick up my car and immediately when I got in my car I noticed a strong stench of cigarettes. I do not smoke, nor does anyone who's been in my car. There was ash next to the gear shift AND a burn hole in my steering wheel. I also noticed that my steering wheel was covered in dirt and so was the E-brake. I went inside to question why my car was dirty and if anyone smoked in it. Some guy who seemed to have some manager position said "wow that's crazy! I don't know what happened, no one here smokes cigarettes!" Likely story.... I also pointed out to him that there was dirt covering the steering wheel. As he literally wiped it off, he said it was just from the wear and tear of driving. But like I said, he was able to wipe the dirt off. They didn't help solve the situation or even offer to clean the rest of my car. It's very hard to believe that no mechanic there smokes cigarettes. This place gets 0 stars, they are terrible, I went in to replace a tail light and then my brake lights don't work. I told them what happened and they said they didn't do it. I went to a real mechanic who repaired my brake lights and told me that they crimped the brake light wire between the tail light fastener and the chassis causing a slow short circuit. My insurance said that it would be a streamlined process if I choose a station that uses Liberty Mutual. (LM did not recommend anything specific, so not against the law) I asked for the nearest shop to my house that would be an affiliate to LM) That being said, I decided to go with PAB. The tow was done on Monday and the car was not pulled into the shop until Wednesday after a call by me to check up, wondering why I had not heard anything. The repair was done. But a new tire, an alignment and a tow. $500! "I gave you a discount on the tire! The tow fee for 3.5 miles from their shop from my driveway was $185. The shop down the street $95. The secretary says fair and comparable to every shop around. I called every shop (4) within 15 miles of the shop and they were by far the most expensive. $115 including the $5 per mile was the highest I can find. Should I complain about the extra $75?
