Ordinary ice skating rink. Nothing special but nothing horrible, just the sewage smell outside of the rink. I've been in worse bathrooms and better rinks and bathrooms. The view is decent from upstairs. There's an elevator which makes the building in compliance with ADA. Parking lot with handicap parking but not many. They need a better area to just parties. There was a birthday party of about 30+ kids in the way of the upper level entrance outside of the restaurant. The party was interrupted by people walking by and the kids with skates running was dangerous if they fell or stepped on someone. Very chaotic. read more

Took my daughter and a few of her friends to the open skate time on a Sunday in mid January. There is a lot of parking outside and service was pretty quick. $4 to rent a pair of ice skates; $10 per person to skate. It was a little crowded on the ice; I'm not sure if that was just because it was a holiday weekend (MLK Jr Day) or if it is always like that. Overall, I think the kids had fun tho. read more

It's just so gross...no one cares. This place needs a month closed with a cleaning crew, a dumpster and some paint. Parents sit on their cars to not have to go inside. I was at the Brewster Ice Arena twice in the last month. My daughter attended a birthday party and I attended a holiday party. My daughter had a blast in recreational skating and snacks. She said the people were helpful and the music was great. The party I attended sat in Players restaurant area overlooking one of the rinks. The service was great and the food was good. Mostly a bar menu but enough variety to satisfy most people and the kitchen made changes to plates if requested. The beer selection is great and the sports decor in the bar and TVs are perfect compliment to the ice arena. I have been here probably 6 times in the last 8 years. It's a great resource to the area especially in the winter when most kids activities are closed. read more

Brewster Ice Arena is so dirty. The stands are always filled with garbage, bathrooms are disgusting, tables upstairs are gross. They should just put a little effort into keeping the place clean. They have don't have five rinks like another review says. The have two full size rinks, one studio rink upstairs that is never cold enough to be decent ice and the Zamboni fumes will make you want to faint up there. There is a pond outside for a couple months but the weather doesn't really cooperate for great outdoor ice even though they do have a chiller. read more

Solid spot for a skate - this place is HUGE - 5 rinks including one outside pond. Inside there are dedicated rinks for hockey and open skating, and parties (separate floor upstairs) and figure skating. Open skates are always run efficiently, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Rink ice is always in good condition, and what is great about the place is the rink is never crowded. Great place no matter what your skating ability is, check them out. read more

First off... ice arenas are not all over the place. In this region, I only know of a private school that has teams play there as well. Other than that, good luck. This place clearly has seen some life/traffic... But, we free skate almost every week and my one kid has done hockey there, too. Have been to a couple birthday parties, seen some great games... Brewster ice arena staff are extremely unprofessional, greedy and have the worst communication I have ever experienced by a youth sports organization. This past spring, my 9 year old decided she wanted to play travel ice hockey. If you aren't aware, that will cost you an absurd $2500 just to simply join the team and play in the disgusting facility. Please bring hand sanitizer with you!! In May, I paid $165 for my daughter to "try out" for team. (Nobody is cut from the team) Shortly after, I placed a $500 deposit down for my daughter's roster spot on the upcoming season beginning in September. In the interim, my lovely child decided she no longer wanted to play hockey. Although I was very unhappy with her decision and irresponsibility, I was definitely glad she told me before I paid the additional $2000. I immediately emailed the "travel manager" at Brewster Ice Arena in early June regarding her decision and humbly asking for a refund. He said the following: "The $165 tryout fee would not be refunded- that pays for participation in tryouts, which have already occurred. As a general rule, all sales are final and your contract is binding- however, we're obviously not looking to punish parents because their children are children! If ******* remains uninterested in Hockey come August please let me know, and I'll see what I can do for reimbursement on the $500 of tuition." Since then, I have emailed and called the "travel manager" a half dozen times. He has not returned a single email or phone call. Apparently they really are looking to punish parents! My daughter's roster spot was filled the day after I sent my initial email. I can't think of a reason in the world that they cannot refund my $500 deposit for a season my child will never participate in. At the very least, an email with some absurd excuse as why they won't refund my money would be much appreciated. Just completely ignoring me is deplorable. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. We had a birthday party here for my 8 yo son here and it was awful. Rented skates were old and the hostess they assigned to us was a hot mess. This was her first party. We didn't get what we ordered in advance food-wise. They forgot the chips and pretzels we ordered. They gave us 2 pizzas instead of 3. When we asked for the third one, we were told it would be 30 minutes. WTF!!! The soda was flat and to top it off, they left half the accessories off he birthday cake. She also brought the cake out from the kitchen in the box with the candles burning. Afterwards, she brought the cake toppers out and told us she didn't know where to put them. I then showed her on he leftover part of the cake how to place them. Had the cake been brought out with candles not lit we could have fixed it. On the way out I got into a heated discussion with the manager and he pointed out we should have come to him during the party. Fair enough but why couldn't he get up from the office and walk around the facility to see how the party was going. Offered no apology for the lack of proper service and gave no reason why the new girl wasn't mirroring an experienced person like a server at a restaurant. Kids parties are not cheap. The open skating rink is absolutely horrible. There are chunks of ice missing on both ends. Multiple people I know have taken bad spills due to this. Also, and probably the most annoying is the girls who are figure skating. They are not using the center of the ice that is conned off, but using up the sections of ice that many little kids are skating. They are kicking and spinning with zero regard for so is around them. Skates are sharp and will do some bad damage. If it weren't for the lack of other rinks to skate in the area I would never come back read more

First, the sanitary condition of the facilities are horrific, trash strewn in various areas that had tells of having been deposited there weeks, if not months, before. Regular clean-up maintenance is sorely needed. Second, there were 2 staff members skating on the rink (wearing Staff Jackets) that I had assumed were there for some purpose other than their speed skating in tandem against one another, rap dancing, and constant snowplow stops. I was terrified that these 2 yahoos would put my 2 granddaughters in harms way rather than being protective. To the management: don't expect, inspect! Vincent, in response to your request, I'm not sure I understand how reporting/identifying the staff will help (this may not be a staff problem). There appears to be a long history of issues in the various review sites, so the issue is bigger and will only perpetuate itself if not managed by the BIA grown ups. What I might suggest is that your team have more of a physical presence to eyeball the arena and its activities and/or that your video tapes be reviewed on a continuous basis to identify matters requiring corrective action (I would hope/assume that a public facility that has "hundreds of people pass through" their doors has videotaping for the public's protection). read more

We called before going for an open ice skating session to ask what adjustments were being made to reflect social distancing requirements. When I asked about capacity I was told they were limiting capacity to 50% which turned out to be highly inaccurate. No one counting who's coming or going. When we arrived it was surprising to not see any signs about requiring masks nor markings for social distancing. The place was packed. Benches crammed with people. Many people were without masks on and off the ice. Aside from the only signage stating "masks required for lessons" there is no reminder nor guidance nor reinforcement. Only 1 staff member on the the ice. It was uncomfortable and we sadly will not return until it's safe. Pretty disappointing. read more

We love this rink. Great people, a real old school feel, and great prices too. After a session, you can usually catch a hockey game at the adjoining rink. They've got a fun restaurant upstairs (with another rink for birthday parties) that overlooks the two ground level rinks. There's also a pro shop, arcade games, and an outdoor rink called "The Pond" where you can watch more Gretskys-in-training! A great winter destination. read more

We come fairly often on Sunday and every Sunday it's a shit show. The ice upstairs is not maintained at all. Half the time the shoes handed out are worn out and don't have laces that are long enough to lace up the entire skate. Bathrooms are always a mess last weekend 11/5/17 there was vomit and pee all over the men's bathroom up stairs and today 11/12/17 there was poop all over one of the stalls in the woman's bathroom downstairs. It looks like there's mold growing underneath the hand dryer. Every staff member is always on their phones, from the guys you pay, to the girls who hand out the rentals. Very unprofessional. Overheard the birthday party that was upstairs state they couldn't find their hostess and that they disappeared after pizza was served. And to top it all off, there is always a lesson happening during the free skate, which would be fine if we weren't all on the small rink upstairs. It's too small to have everyone free skate and have a lesson. The coach is a hot mess. She pays no attention to other people and is constantly bumping into inexperienced skaters. It's only a matter of time before she knocks over some small child. If I were to go again, I would let her hit into me so I could sue the place. There shouldn't lessons going on, especially hockey lessons going on during free skate if it's in the small rink. She's always drawing stuff on the ice which is very close to the sides, which is where my non-ice skater ass is usually very close to. It is frightening to have someone zoom past you at top speeds when you're trying not to die. Other arenas don't allow lessons but they are further away and we will be going to Danbury from now on. Now I'm not sure if free skaters are to give way to the lesson, but if they are, there is no sign posted anywhere, which there should be. TL;DR: bathrooms are gross, upstairs ice is horrible, employees unprofessional, the coach will most certainly knock you over if you can't get out of the way fast enough. read more

Best Hockey Rink for sure all the teams that come out of here do great! Also the rink gets dirty sometimes but a lot of times they open late and clean up in the morning so that people don't get sick. The service at the restaurant is great all the waitresses are super nice. read more

This is the single worst ice rink I have ever been to in my entire life. The garbage cans are left unattended and their is garbage left in the stands. The staff is completely unprofessional and unhelpful and are lead by an equally unhelpful rink manager. The locker rooms are never cleaned and they do not have a dedicated women's locker room that is so desperately needed for the growing women's hockey community in the area. We had our daughter's 10th birthday party here. Alyssa at the front desk gave me all of the info and was so helpful in planning the party. She returned my phone calls and kept me updated each step of the way. We rented the upstairs rink and ordered all the food from the ice arena. Rink was awesome and my daughter was able to make a song playlist on Spotify to play during our ice time. The rink provided over 10 walkers so the children who didn't know how to skate would feel comfortable on the ice and not feel left out. Another Alyssa was our hostess. She was so efficient and kind and kept the party running, getting things set up and cleaned up, and kept us running on time. The food was good! We ordered a variety of wraps, Caesar salad, chicken fingers and French fries, and pizza. We brought in our own cake and cupcakes. Went for a Saturday night public skate. Had to skate on a tiny rink upstairs.. the condition of the ice was terrible. The music didn't work consistently and it was basically a ghost town. I have been here before for an afternoon public skate on the big rink and it was definitely more fun. The worst thing was the condition of the rental skates..absolutely horrible. read more

I'm not one to complain, but this is one of the worst ice rinks I've ever been to. The entire place is very grimy. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned since the place opened. In the two rinks on the first floor, the bathrooms are disasters. They smell like piss, there are random items thrown in the toilets and shower, and at least one of the urinals is constantly broken. The locker rooms themselves are almost always littered with garbage. Most locker rooms have a leak coming from the ceiling, creating a puddle on the floor or the benches. The outdoor rink has somewhat better locker rooms but the ice itself if always awful to skate on. The studio rink upstairs has decent ice but is too small to play hockey and it's too hot. The food stand is rarely open, but when it is, the fries are quite good. Also, the restaurant has some good food as well. Overall, however, I think this rink has to do a major overhaul to make people happy to go there. read more
