Great location, next to Somers Library. Lots of activities for the kids, plenty of parking and not too crowded.

I am so grateful that I got to spend most of my childhood at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park. My…read moregrandparents live really close by, and they have a membership card for the pool. I've also gotten to enjoy the playground as a kid with my parents and younger cousins and enjoying the view of the pond. I loved spending the day at the pool the other day. The weather was great, and I even got the chance to enjoy the snack bar, even though I got Taki dust in my eye. That hurt. The pool has always been a peaceful place, and I was even asked if I would like to try out for the local swim team a while back because the swim coach just happened to be there on the same day. Going to this park has always been one of the best highlights of Bedford Hills for me.

We love your (meticulously maintained) basketball court. We love your sweet little pondside location. We love that you're located right near the Metro North railway so we can watch trains go by and wave. Son #1 is in heaven when that happens. We love that we can all run around in the grass and not have to worry about stepping in geese poopie. Seriously -- high fives on that one. In short, we love you so, Bedford Park. You've got everything in one sweet little kiddie oasis. You make my little men shriek with delight...and who am I kidding..me too! :o)

There's an area for younger kids, and an area for older kids; and both sections have robust options. (That's not always the case!) There's also ample shade here. I cannot stress how delightful that is, especially in the summer. There's an area of musical instruments, which I've seen at a handful of other playgrounds, but, again, it's in pretty great shape here. The sand area is relatively clean. At least for now! It's also close to downtown in case you have any errands you need to do on your way.

There are musical instruments, swings and multiple structures to climbs, as well as a small sand park area. Many of the structurs have ages printed on them. I would suggest that parents definitely watch smaller kids on some of the structures so they don't hurt themselves. There's a structure with rolling pieces and I would definitely see a kid falling and hurting themselves or getting a finger pinched while moving across. The swingset has swings for different stages and abilities which I love. People form the community gave back to build this wonderful park and it's a great addition to the neighborhood. Be careful walking across the street. The multiple stop signs make drivers impatient and they speed up almost as if to scare you out of the way, despite rushing to another stop sign.

There is plenty to do there from an indoor basketball court to a complimentary tea tasting. There is also a library and plenty of common areas where people can read or get work done. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of different free events, so would recommend checking their schedule online before going. It wasn't super busy when I went, but would suggest getting a free ticket online in advance just in case.
