This review might change in the future…read more We are about three classes in. We were on a wait-list, and it took about 2 weeks before a spot opened up. Not bad. Now we are doing the classes. Three classes in and so far and I'm not impressed. It starts at 4:30 pm, and by 4:45, my son (8 years old) is still on a line behind a few kids, waiting to try the obstacle course. They have 8 kids with 2 coaches, which makes it 1:4, but so far I don't feel any benefit from that ratio. Don't get me wrong, the coaches have a great attitude, and they seem to be having fun with the kids, but it's a bit crowded. There are just too many kids. They split the junior course up into three sections. It seems each group of 8 kids and 2 coaches take 20 mins on 1/3 of the course. There are two other groups (also with 8 kids and 2 coaches) doing the other parts of the course. In that 20 min segment that my son and his 7 teammates are attempting, my son has all of one solid try on the course. He finishes, and gets to the back of the line, but at this point they ring a bell, and they move on to the next course. He didn't really have any practice time on this part of the course. Why? Because there really are just too many kids. It's not like the kids whiz by efficiently, which is perfectly fine. They take their time, look around, try the first part, fall, then try that same part again. Meanwhile, the 7 other kids waiting their turn are talking, jumping, and obviously have a lot of energy and nothing to use it on. Where is the other coach? Why isn't he trying to get these 7 restless kids to do something while that one kid is taking his turn? In the one hour that my son is there, he has tried the whole course, with at least one real turn, and maybe 2 if he's lucky. Is this worth $149/month? I don't believe this is a great program. There's really no structure, other than 2 coaches handling 8 kids, and making sure they line up and wait their turn. Ok, fine, when they are taking their turn, the coaches hold them, and guide them. I can do this with my kids at the monkey bars in a park. We are going to finish out the month. But I don't know if we want to continue to pay $149/month for an hour in their gym, where 70% of the time my son is waiting for his turn. I hope it gets better. Again, we are only 3 lessons in.

I guess I am used to bigger stadiums such as Michigan Yost arena.

I arrived right at 11p with an avid skater, after signing the waiver & paying, of course & we reserved our seating with her tote bag. Feeling nostalgic, I started on the quads (female size 7, they don't have 1/2 sizes). After several minutes of getting the laces right, I did a choppy roll/walk on the old carpet to the rink. Immediately, I felt my left foot pulling & it also felt like I was rolling on pebbles. After about 3 rounds I switched to a male size 6 quad. These felt better & smoother but it was still a workout to get momentum. I gave these about an hour before switching to blades, male size 5. Now, I was happy! The rest of the night (til 2a) I was flying around the rink (to the best of my ability). More & more people flooded in & the pros were fun to watch dance on their skates. A few trains were formed & a couple of skaters took a tumble. People were so nice helping others up & some were practicing & teaching in the middle of the floor. The music being played ranged from old school, new school & I think EDM. Lights went on & off, the a/c was pumping (Hallelujah!). I took a few time outs, because it's definitely a workout. Their food is decent. I had a hotdog & curly fries to keep me going. I may just do a whole pizza next time. All in all, this is a nice place to skate. Because I arrived early, I got to see the floor cleaned & refreshed after the last skating session. To me, the floor was smooth, I didn't feel any dips or bumps. The rental skates aren't the best so bring your own. I'm grateful for the ladies & gentleman behind the counter being patient with me, while I figured out the best fit. I'm also grateful they let you switch & without additional fees. Each time I changed, they would immediately spray the disinfectant. I plan on purchasing some blades of my own & making this a frequent occurrence. It was also nice to see that no one bothers your belongings. I believe the lockers are only..50¢ but I'd rather have things readily available. I've also learned to dress light, bring plenty of water, a hand towel, a phone holder & maybe bring extra deodorant. I'm happy to say, I didn't fall once!

That was in 2021. I returned another time and parents were just throwing their kids in the rink to tire them out because they didn't want to deal with them. The rink is old and dated and has been for years. Don't expect it to change. Like all other dates rinks, the food is overpriced chuck e cheese slop. It feels like when I was in middle and high schooI. I suggest eating before coming here. I also recommend buying your own skates as rentals are not only gross but not safe. Put that $5 back in your pocket. The music is like top 40 stuff and some old school music for the old and experienced folks. I skated on and off from middle school to summer camps and church groups. Pushing 40 and out of shape but I regained confidence. Sometimes it's not the rink itself, it's the people. It was a very chill Sunday that wasn't too crowded. if you're nostalgic or you just want a good workout, it's good. It packs a lot in a small space with some jump scares and it is probably best for a group of 4 to 6 people. Some of the puzzles can be challenging so it's good to have help. The final stages of the game really elevate the experience as your time ticks down and urgency increases. The tasks to be solved become more sinister in nature but also were the most fun part. The detail and atmosphere really put this one over the top. Highly recommended if you enjoy spookier types of games and experiences.

After the 2 week Jr. program, and two 4 week sessions, this year was 8 weeks. All-in-all he performed 13 times in music projects or theater. He produced beautiful jewelry and grew in every way (including a few inches in height). This is his happy place. The new ownership has been amazing. A few years back our son was left alone on a field trip and had to call for help from a stranger. The old ownership, while apologetic, continued to employ everyone involved and we did not feel they took the matter seriously. We were very disheartened and were hesitant for him to return until we heard Noah and Smadar Salzman had purchased the camp (this happened his 2nd summer and the 3rd summer was the new ownership). This summer our son had a virus and fever 4 days prior to the last day of camp - known as Festival-where he was scheduled to perform with his band as well as in the musical, The Wizard of Oz. He was very nervous and disheartened but the camp doctor checked in with us regularly as did the nurses, morning and night. He was quarantined and the care he received was exemplary. The Director of the musical came to visit him and let him know not to worry and kept him isolated but available to sing and rehearse. Noah visited him regularly and the camp followed up. He was cleared to rehearse and was able to perform during Festival in both his band and in the musical. The care he received was amazing and he had an amazing summer in spite of missing a few days at the end of the summer. We look forward to his 5th summer next year!
