Jersey City has an amazing coffee scene and Brewshot is definitely part of it. Got my usual iced soy latte and my reaction was "now THIS is coffee." Very good. Decently priced. Nice staff. And they have a punch card! read more

I'm surprised this place got so many good ratings. I am new to the area and wanted to try out a new coffee shop instead of working from home. I looked the up the place online to check out the menu. I decided to come and get breakfast, coffee and work. I was told by the ONE employee (young Asian man) working here that sandwiches were not available until noon. I settled for a bagel and cream cheese. There was also only whole milk for the coffee-no skim, no 2% or 1%. The coffee is subpar. The bagel and cream cheese was awful. Another customer came in after me (a white male) and ordered a sandwich. He was given a modified sandwich (egg on toast). This was not offered to me. I questioned the employee about it and he said that I requested a sandwich with bacon and that meat would not be available until noon. I was not given the option to have the sandwich without meat. I told him that I didn't want the bagel and wanted a refund. He said he would not give me a refund. I asked for the manager's name and number. He refused to give it to me. The concession he did make was to give me an egg sandwich that he had given the other customer. There is much better coffee and service down the street at Cafe Dolma (going to write them a great review next). Starbucks and Dunkin donuts have better coffee and service than Brewshot. Honestly, I think this business does not care because there are a lot of apartments in the area and people just pop in for (bad) coffee. And to make matters worse-there is no A/C in this coffeeshop and its 88 degrees outside! read more

I've been here a couple of times and the coffee and food are okay. It is cute and nice though. I'll go back when I'm in the area again. read more

It's a shame that they got rid of the location in Cast Iron Lofts. That spot sold alcohol so you had the best of both worlds. I've only been here once and was surprised at how chill and quiet it was. Then again, everything near Zeppelin Hall is kinda isolated. The service was good, the vibes were good, they just need to work on the air conditioning because I was about diiiiiie. Great place to work as they have a ton of outlets everywhere and it was dead quiet when I went. read more

Absolutely disgusting. Matcha was not even green in the container it literally looked expired or just not matcha. She didn't even whisk the powder literally just poured milk on top of the powder. I am appalled that I paid $7 for this insanity. And this is supposedly a "new and improved" place???? Please don't come here. read more

went and had the extra hot cappuccino and it was perfect! Its a nice cozy place to get some work done, I'll be back.

I just paid $9 for a small latte. Highway robbery. Literally had 3 sips and it was gone. The prices are so much higher than Starbucks and other coffee shops and the quality is subpar at best. Extremely disappointed! read more

Fantastic coffee place with friendly employees, clean, well-organized sitting area. This place offers a lot of freshness with its decoration, aroma of the beans. As it's situated in an isolated location, it's never too busy. It does not mean the place is bad though. Today I had black coffee, which was Brazilian and Ethiopian blend. Somewhat strong, nutty, a bit earthy. They also serve pour over coffee which I had before and definitely recommended. read more

Beautiful new coffee shop right next to Zeppelin Hall. Super clean inside, comfortable furniture; the cafe is spacious with high ceilings and relaxed music in the background. Great place to do a little laptop work or just hang out and chat. Coffee of the day was very good. A modest but appetizing selection of pastries and muffins were available. Friendly customer service. A tad expensive (one coffee for me and one tea for my friend came out to about six bucks) so it won't be my everyday coffee stop, but defnitely a place I will come back to from time to time and enjoy. read more

This is literally the grossest coffee I have ever had. Also seven dollars for an oat latte?? Sheesh, never again

Overpriced. Extra processing fee if you use card. I bought orange juice that was beyond sell-by date by a month; I really shouldn't have to check the date on the goods sold. I wish it's owners cared about the integrity of the coffee made in the shop. read more

It's pricey but sometimes one must pay for a tasty jolt of caffeine. So, the new guy in town comes in the form of a swanky coffee spot. Located in Paulus Hook by the beer garden, this spot will be a maven for those living in all the condos up in this hood. It's clean, nicely designed, had some great looking pastries in the cases and have some delicious Blue Bottle expresso and coffee selections. Side note, they even have this crazy coffee lab - similar to meth lab - love Breaking Bad - where they like make this super condensed crazy town iced coffee. The man ordered it and it was awesome. I can't remember the special name - but, definitely get it. You will walk out with a $4 coffee. But, it will be highly caffeinated and quite delicious.* ** Of course depending on the level of milk, sugar, cream added. read more

I've heard a lot of buzz and recommendations about this place, so I was excited to finally stop by today and check it out. Here's a quick rundown of my experience: 1) For midday on a Saturday, there was lots of available nearby parking. (This is a very important factor in Jersey City.) 2) The wooden decor is modern and clean cut, feels very spacious with their use of mirrors and windows, and lots of seating. Ambiance is quiet and calm, but very welcoming and friendly. 3) Diverse choice of beverages and food items. (I had the Americano, and chicken cutlet, rabe, and mozz breadcup by Grandma Downtown. Both delicious!). 4) And the service was great. The ladies behind the counter were knowledgeable, very friendly, and brought out my order in a timely service. This place definitely lived up to its rep, and hope to return very soon. read more

Extremely overpriced for small portions. The coffee is not very great, the service is slow, and I had to throw out my croissant because it was stale and hard. $10 for a stale croissant and a "large" iced coffee that is considered a small at any other coffee shop. Cheaper prices in NYCs most expensive neighborhood. read more

Brewshot offers a really diverse menu of coffee beans and organic teas. The interior is very simple yet edgy with it's mainly light tanned wood theme. If you're looking for something beyond your local coffee experience then this place is definitely worth checking out. Good coffee shop with high ceilings, nice decor and laidback vibe; definitely not a place for people in rush. They have nice selection of pastries and bagels available too. We went on a Saturday morning; ordered iced & regular latte. Iced latter was served in a mason jar and was really good. My wife liked the flavour of her hot latte but it was not hot enough. Biggest rip off ever. A cappuccino has one one... yea you heard correctly one shot of espresso here for 6.29$ if you want to add a shot of espresso to the only one shot you are blessed with in your cappuccino it's an additional 2.13$. Now I see why they have bad reviews. Put in a different coffee shop here that knows what they are doing please. read more

Coffee here exists. It really isn't great here, and isn't really noteworthy. If I'm paying for someone else to make it, there are much better places in town. It does have a lot of windows, which is nice for sitting inside. read more

Most important to me in a cafe are the ambiance and the coffee. In the former, Brewshot takes the crown. I love the meticulously-crafted design, the wood-themed furnishing, the high ceilings & large windows, and the list goes on. The ease of finding parking within 2-3min walk from the cafe is just gravy on top. On the coffee, I find that it lacks consistency; I have not had the pleasure of experiencing a good latte or cappuccino during my two visits. However, I've been told that the watery cappuccino I had was not the norm. All in all, while this place has a lot of potential, I have yet to see it delivered. read more

This the only bad review I have ever written on Yelp. I used to like the place and Casper has always been nice. But the attitude and rudeness of the other guy has been off the limit. There was one time I sneezed with my mouth covered and used their napkins to clean up. He came over and forcefully asked me to go wash my hands. There is no problem with the request and I guess I should have done that before he asked. But as oppose to a gentle reminder, his rudeness was a bit surprising and his pose of picking a fight was pointless and annoying. I didn't expect a small thing like this could end up in a big argument. There were multiple other times when he didn't hear what I wanted because of the loud music and asked me to repeat, no problem with that at all but please do that politely, and do not act as if being offended. I don't think this guy is happy working at the coffee shop. Neither do I think he is suitable for a job like this as he doesn't know how to treat people with respect. I would hope the manager or the owner of the place take a look at the review and make some changes to the services. All other staff are super nice and I don't think you would want to lose business because of one bad outlier. read more

Being that I live so close to this place I'd love to give it a good review, but it's impossible. The coffee has always been subpar if not just bad (the bean they're using is terrible), service takes forever and the staff has what appears to be minimal training (or they just don't care). When they added some breakfast items to their menu I decided to give them another shot. Got a few bagels with cream cheese to go. Came home only to discover the cream cheese was barely detectable. May as well have just ordered a plain bagel. Despite having lox on the menu when asked for it the staff member had no idea what I was asking for. If this place had JUST good coffee I'd be a regular and post a good review, but they're unable to do the fundamental, let alone things above and beyond. read more

Tucked in one of many residential corners of Jersey City, Brewshot offers an ass-kicking espresso with friendly chatter. Although the cafe itself is reminiscent of a cubicle office, including JC residents completely enthralled in their work, it is still a cool spot with a focus on coffee. The barista/cashier was super cool, informed us of music events that take place on Saturdays and how the cafe wants to reach out to JC artists as they are currently looking for work to adorn the cafe with. This really interested my date, who's an artist, but it piqued my interest too. My latte was great, the conversation about art, music and travel was greater... and I would definitely come back to this cafe! Although the place isn't too conducive to having conversation with people super focused on their laptops/tablets/phones/ or books but I would return for a caffeine jolt and some sort of writing to do. read more

Stopped in today and ordered a large black coffee. My girlfriend ordered a cold brew. The barista handed my coffee to someone else, and the other barista made me the wrong drink in the meantime. I said no, I wanted a regular drip coffee, then she realized she gave it to another customer. So she goes and grabs it from the dude and just poured it into a new cup and handed it to me. Are you kidding? I told her I wasn't drinking the same coffee that had been given to someone else and had been sitting with him for a solid minute. Seriously, you guys can't spring for a fresh cup? She gave me attitude and slammed a new cup down on the counter. My gf's cold brew was so sour that she threw it out. Never going to Brewshot again. read more

Brewshot is awesome! I've been working from here for the past 2 days on my laptop while waiting for my home internet to get fixed :( Everyone working here is super nice and knowledgeable. AVOID THIS PLACE! I ran out of coffee beans and came here in a pinch. They charged me $11 for a half pound of beans. What!?! Great place! My go to for studying or actually getting work done. Coffee is always on point and a good selection of treats. Service is not overly friendly (read: fake) but not rude by any means. I always order my coffee then grab a table and the barista always brings my coffee over to me. Only complaint is the bathroom situation. I've literally never seen it stocked with paper towels (which I can live with) and half the time doesn't have toilet paper either. However, they share the bathroom with the residential building's lobby so I feel it is the buildings job to maintain the bathroom so I wouldn't blame Brewshot :-). This place never looks open. However, we walked past it on our way home, and it was open so we decided to finally give it a try. Someone in front of us ordered a sandwich and it took the barista over 10 minutes to make it. When it was finally our turn to order, the barista didn't even apologize for the wait. It ended up being $10 for an iced latte and a small Poland springs water bottle. This place is so overpriced with extremely poor customer service. read more

This place has so much potential and I wanted to like it but my latte was terrible. In addition to the awful taste it wasn't mocha or oat milk like I asked. The avocado toast was the worst part. Literally a slice of untoasted cold bread with a terrible excuse for a guac mix and eggs that just barely touched a pan for maybe 10 seconds. There was nothing else on there like the menu described but honestly it wouldn't have saved it.. I had to throw both out and keep looking for a new spot. read more

All the drinks I have had here have been excellent. The iced coffee was strong and flavorful and well made. The cappuccino is great: strong, with a hint of sweetness, and lots of flavor without being bitter. Definitely better than most coffee shops in North Jersey that I have been to. I also had some kind of pastry which was delicious. Free wifi is also a plus and the service was friendly and efficient. It's not a huge place but there was plenty of seating for everyone there.
