If you're passing through Cottonwood and looking for a place with good food and even better hospitality, put White Horse Restaurant on your list. We'd happily saddle up and eat here again!

We ordered a charcuterie board, and honestly, I didn't think that was something that could be messed up--but it was really disappointing. It tasted like it had been prepared ahead of time, stored in the freezer, and then served to us. The crackers were stale, and even the pickles and pickled okra didn't taste right. I mentioned it to the server and asked if it could be removed from our bill, but they only offered a small discount. Overall, the quality of the food didn't match the price at all. I'm sure there are better spots to enjoy a nice sunset.

The pleasure of sitting at the table with views of the water & trees, the excellent service, and most of all the food. She ordered the hamburger that was anything but a plain hamburger. It had so many components and the meat was so good. My duck was impressive. It was cooked to perfection, and the classic cherry topping took it over the top. The presentation was wonderful and served over the duck crisp. I am bringing my husband next time as he will not be able to resist the elk offering.

Well again I'll preface I rarely give five stars, because there is always room for improvement, but…read moretoday was a 5! I've been in Cornville for 4-1/2 years and came here for the first time about a year ago. My review was based off the entire party. This time it's just me. I came for the olive medley app which is an amazing concoction of imported olives, sundried tomato, artichoke hearts, fresh herbs and lovely mild goat cheese. It's served warm with buttered and toasted baguettes and the entire app is absolutely sublime. Learned today it develops from a recipe in California! Tastes like it! I also had the rigatoni with spicy Italian sausage. Large portion (half is dinner later) with toasted bread and fresh Parmesan. The marinara is hit with fennel and tomato bits, so much flavor and the sausage has just the right spice. The sur andes Malbec was the perfect wine. They have a very impressive and extensive wine list, great price points. The restaurant is set above Oak Creek, hence Up the Creek. Ample windows provide bird watchers beautiful views of Cornville natural wildlife. Prices are better than Sedona and this place, while off the beaten path, is every bit Sedona-worthy! Another little hidden gem I'm grateful to live close to.

We secured our reservations well in advance and arrived punctually. Upon check-in, the staff promptly guided us to our outdoor seating arrangement, which offered a stunning vantage point for watching the sunset while enjoying quality time together. While skimming through the appetizer menu, we struck up a delightful conversation with neighboring diners who enthusiastically recommended the lamb lollipops. Intrigued by their endorsement, we ordered them ourselves and were thoroughly impressed. The lamb lollipops delivered an unforgettable culinary experience--tender, flavorful, and absolutely pristine. For our entrées, I selected the 16oz boneless ribeye accompanied by a loaded baked potato, bacon-wrapped asparagus, and guajillo chimichurri sauce. My lady chose the 8oz Prime Filet Mignon, elegantly topped with herb butter, garlic whipped potatoes, and lemon-zest asparagus. Both dishes were extraordinary! The ribeye proved incredibly tender and juicy with remarkable flavor in every bite, while the filet mignon was equally spectacular. Both proteins were cooked to absolute perfection, melting effortlessly on our palates and leaving us craving more. The accompanying sides were equally impressive. We concluded our meal with a brown butter cake crowned with chopped praline pecans, whipped cream, and maple caramel sauce, served over vanilla bean ice cream. This dessert was so exceptional that we couldn't resist ordering a second one. Neither of us could help ourselves--we simply had to indulge again. Honestly, if we'd had room for another stomach, we would've absolutely gone back for seconds and thirds of everything on the menu. While The Vault Uptown certainly comes with a premium price tag, I can assure you that every single dish I've mentioned is worth every penny. I'd strongly recommend requesting an outdoor table positioned toward the sunset so you can take in the stunning vista of Snoopy Rock. The perspective from that vantage point is truly breathtaking. Don't hesitate to book your table at The Vault Uptown--you'll be thrilled with your decision.
