Tried their Chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream and it was one of the best I tried. The melted chocolate chip in a pancake melted in my mouth. I would take picture but it was already gone! We asked the deadpan, friendly waitress if the Reuben sandwich was good. "It's so good we're thinking of renaming this place Reuben's", she answered. And wow.....was it good. The chef makes his own thousand island, his own sauerkraut, which tasted like it had smoked pork in it, and his homemade corned beef was cut thick as a pinky finger, well marbled and moist. With the ample amount of melted Swiss cheese, this was probably the best Reuben sandwich we'd ever had. Also, it was garnished with the chef's homemade pickles. We are def going back, because when i went up to pay the tab I saw the cathead biscuit with fried chicken and gravy and....well....it looked like heaven. Nothing to complain about here. I usually don't gush like this, but this guy in the kitchen, who waved to us as we were cooing over our sandwiches, is one gifted diner chef. read more

Last minute decision to come here for brunch on Valentine's day -- it was fantastic! Our waitress was super friendly and the food was beyond delicious. I chose the Bennies which was a great choice -- definitely the best eggs benedict I've ever had! The elderberry pimento sauce was a perfect compliment to the maple ham, poached eggs, and classic hollandaise. My boyfriend had the chicken and biscuits -- a HUGE, not to mention delicious, serving of a classic comfort food. Pretty sure he's going to enjoy this for at least 1-2 more meals. The quinoa pancakes with almond butter and berries were some of the best pancakes I've ever eaten. The only negative was that there were not enough hands on deck for a Sunday morning. Only 2 people to wait tables. We guessed that they were unable to get help due to the incentive for collecting unemployment . These ladies were moving as fast as they could to take care of the customers, and smiling while getting it done. We had nothing but time, and it was worth the wait! read more

Been going there for a long time, but the last few times have been off. The Ruben and Hash's flavor has changed for the worst. The portions have gotten smaller which all would have been tolerated if my service wasn't so slow. Every time I get the one waitress(the brunette) my service sucks! The owner ask us to come out and try the new items on the menu , first of all what a honor to be asked. The Chef owner has worked in many of the better restaurants in town and it shows. The showstopper is the steak and eggs is the over the top. A full sirloin steak he cuts his own meats to keep his cost in line. served with homemade French fry's , rich brown gravy.cheese curds. The word gravy is not the right word should be sauce . I told him in the future don't serve coffee (local of course ) just serve me a cup of sauce ! I am not French fry man but we were all fighting over the fries and SAUCE. PS we had three people at the table . The size would require two people to be Abe to put a dent in it. The good news he had sold 5 before us ,It a winner . Next item a fried egg sandwich on a bagel ,( well know what you are thinking have had many before). But Chef has source an old fashion New Jersey Pork roll , its not ham , not bacon . I have not had it or seen it on menu in years. Two eggs on a everything bagel ,choice of cheese. PORK ROLL rules its worth the trip by itself . Next item turkey Reuben again I am reading your mind been their done that. No you have not real turkey SMOKED in house. The difference is without words . But fried chili will be in my playbook for sure ! I've never been one to wax poetic about breakfast so hold on... we happened upon this place when looking for breakfast and my husband said let's try. So not what we expected in menu or ambiance. We were welcomed and seated quickly in a spread out dining area. Menu was on blackboard and paper menus. Not the usual fare which made us read every word of descriptions. Where to start we could have ordered anything but settled on black coffee, homemade hash for him and Benny for me. Do not think usual eggs benedict. Perfectly poached eggs over maple glazed pit ham not a thin slice of Canadian bacon but real thick sliced pit ham. Elderberry pimento sauce on muffin and over homemade hollandaise sauce. Who knew sweet undertones would enhance eggs and ham so much. The hash was so tender yet crispy in the right places. Not too potatoey and huge portion covered with 3 eggs. Both were served with potatoes which we took most home with half the hash. We looked at each other and said we have to come back to try everything else. And we mean it the lunch options look amazing but that will be another post. There was a waiting list by the time we were leaving. That says a lot. read more

Would give less than a one if I could but I can't. They served me RAW STEAK. Not rare not under medium it was RAW. Looked like it kissed both sides of the pan for five seconds and put on the plate. Absolutely DISGUSTING and DANGEROUS. I have photos to prove it after bringing it to a trusted chef within my community. I flew into Syracuse airport. I was driving to Watertown, NY. Hungry I stopped at the Brewer Union Cafe. I had the Bam Bam burger. It was soooooo good. I can't believe how good it was. I dreamt about going back. On my way out of the area, I flew out of the Syracuse airport. It was 10 AM. I fast until noon. I broke my fast and ate at the cafe. I had the chicken and waffles. Too good to express in words how good it was. If you are in the area stop by the Brewer Union Cafe and have the food experience of a life time. read more
