Cappuccino was a solid 6/10. The first layer of the coffee was very hallow. I prefer a thicker layer of foam. The taste of the espresso was present with every sip. Additionally, I enjoyed the breakfast burrito with the chips and salsa. The chips were tasteful and had a great crunch. Burrito was amazing! Don't be afraid to add a bit of ketchup. However, make sure to bring your own because they don't offer ketchup. read more

This is the third time we have visited, we only came because I was given a gift card. The first two times were a few years ago. We both got "blended" drinks, they were warm and normal liquid consistency not a blended or icey consistency at any other coffee place. We did get extra shit but even with that it was weak. The coffee it's self is very twiggy in flavor, which my partner usually loves where as I don't. Neither of us enjoyed our drinks. And a lot more expensive even compared to other small coffee shops. Two drinks and two macaroons and we spent around $26 bucks in the end. We did get two of the macaroons, bubble gum and birthday cake. The bubble gum is extremely bubble gum tasting which if you have a texture issue it does mess with you while you eat it and is very sweet. It's rare that I give a 5 star review. But this place certainly deserves it . I came in frustrated because this was actually my Plan B. I was going to a friend's house for a Karaoke Party which was canceled at the last minute. I knew my friend Patrick Gratten was singing here and I had to decline his invitation due to my prior engagement. Life has its twists and turns and I ended up getting to go to Brew Coffee Spot. I'm glad I did. I fully expect to pay about $8.00 for a large Rasberry White Mocha with the bidenomics raging rampantly based on pre biden prices of about 5 bucks. (Which was hard on me to do remembering coffee being about a quarter a cup in my youth) I found Quincy and Kennedy to be friendly and helpful. I described what I wanted to him and he told me it was called Raspberry White Mocha. I was having a senior moment and for the life of me couldn't think of what it was called. Kennedy brought it out to me. She also helped get my perks points. The coffee was delicious. I really enjoyed it. I will definitely return on nights they have live entertainment. Pretty upset , sat down got all my food and my coffee and started on my work and I think it was the owner that told me dogs weren't allowed and then proceeded to ask me how long I thought I was going to be? Like I just sat down with all of my food I think I'd like to eat it??? it is fine I get that they don't allow dogs, but if I could of been told that maybe as I was ordering or before I got everything and got comfy that would of been great . I entered through the door that had absolutely no sign on it and I've been there plenty of times and brought my dog and there's been no problem and nobody has ever told me anything ...My dog is also very well-behaved. He just lays there the whole entire time. I've actually never once been told at a coffee shop that I couldn't have him so I will not be back to brew ever again which is such a shame. The owner said "I don't even bring my own dogs here " , okay cool well my dog is very well behaved I bring him everywhere , didn't know we were comparing ? It honestly just really upset me and rubbed me the wrong way.... These are just a few quotes that I've been hearing ever since I got out of high school, which is approximately 13 years ago. But those quotes have increased over the last 5 years. I live in one of the biggest cities in the U.S. Where there are an abundance of breweries and coffee shops. Yet I've gone to so many and none of them really felt like, "Yeah, THIS is my spot." Until now that is. I've been to this place roughly 5-6 times and it is by far my favorite place to go. To drink coffee, eat food but most importantly to study. I have a hard time focusing on studying in the comfort of my home so I have to be out to study and focus. Most coffee shops are extremely crowded with people in a very small space. Also many of them don't have a lot of options, are located in areas where there are a lot of people, North Park, Mission Valley, Down Town to mention a few. To top off all that, pretty much no where to park. So yeah, the idea of finding "MY COFFEE SHOP" just seemed unrealistic for me. This place is located in the middle of no where. No, not Ramona middle of no where, just not a very busy part of La Mesa. The major neighboring stores are Good Will, Big Lots and Ross across the street. Not only that but there will always be parking. Although this coffee shop does share their parking lot with the other stores, the stores don't get to many customers and the lot is huge. Inside, there is PLENTY of places to sit and the tables and chairs aren't all crammed together. Not only is there plenty of places to sit huge crowds inside but they have a really good decent size patio full of tables for huge groups in case you prefer fresh air. They have such a huge variety of food and drinks here that you will be overwhelmed, but in a good way. I've tried something different every time. Tea, Coffee, food, you name it. Everyone that comes here always seem extremely happy. Not only the customers but the staff is extremely relaxed and friendly with exceedingly good customer service. I have yet to come across an un-happy or rude worker. Which for me, is outstanding. I'm a supervisor at a retail place and having been performing the top when it comes to customer service. Something that is unappreciated in the retail world. Which is why many people don't have good customer service. To be treated poorly for not that great of pay. Can't blame them. But here, the workers are lovely and do not leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. So thank you to everyone here for making me feel welcomed and comfortable. I found MY coffee shop. My wife and I love this place! This is our go to for a simple coffee / breakfast date. The owner and his employees are awesome and glad we call this our go to coffee shop. The food we recommend the Bitch'n avocado toast, breakfast burrito, Turkey hummus panini with seasoned chips, and Caprese panini with seasoned chips. The seasoned chips are seasoned with their Brew Rub which we recommend buying as well. The coffee beans we recommend are the Ethiopia Sidamo, Columbia Tinto, and the Lake Murray Blend. read more

Joe! Joe! You are getting out of control. You are now acquiring your own beans and roasting them in house? That sounds like a grand plan! I've been back several times to the Brew Coffee Spot here in La Mesa, and every time, I have been pleasantly surprised with the new menu item, but more importantly, now with the in house roasting to perfection, well enough said. I'll be coming back more often. You cant go with a Columbia Roast, a Kenyan, Costa Rican, and a French Roast for starters. The menu has been greatly expanded with delicious offerings such as avocado toast, panini sandwiches, quiche, acai bowls, and chicken vegetable pie!?! That is just super. I recently enjoyed the avocado toast and the smoked salmon bagel. Both were terrific. I appreciated their simplicity yet their boldness in flavors. The avocado toast came with a healthy spread of smashed avocado, freshly sliced tomatoes, and not a sprinkling of feta, but a downpour of feta. It was delicious and it sure put a smile on my face after the first bite. You get a choice of bread for your vehicle. I had multi-grain. The smoked salmon bagel was heavenly. I went with the jalapeno cheddar bagel. The bagel was perfect with its light crispy exterior toast and soft chewy center. The jalapeno flavor stood and the texture of the cheddar that crisped on the outside was bliss. The cream cheese was, well creamy, and the smoked salmon was silky rich and delicious. It was quality smoked salmon. The garnish of roasted red peppers were great, because they not only brought great flavor, but color as well. The addition of touch of micro greens would of been nice too. I have to say, every time I have visited, the staff members have all been super amazing and friendly. Cute little coffee shop near where I just moved. It's a fairly large coffee shop. Seems really popular as there was a bunch of people. The selection of pastries and other breakfast items was good. Lots to choose from. I ordered the stuffed croissant with bacon and jalapenos. They come with a side salad. I wasn't too fond of it. I don't know if I would try that food item about but maybe something different. The coffee was delicious . The baristas there were really fast. I enjoyed my coffee. Decently priced. My friend and I went for breakfast this morning. I had my dog so we had to eat outside. I told the cashier we would be outside. Our food was ready before our coffee. I informed the barista to please let me know when our coffee was ready when I picked up our food. Ten minutes later I wondered where our coffee was. I walked in and realized our coffee.... now cold.... had been sitting there on the counter for several minutes. It would have been nice for the staff to realize our coffee had been sitting there for several minutes and perhaps were outside and did not hear our name called. I came here for the first time a few days ago and had a nice experience. The shop has outdoor seating and indoor seating. There is a good amount of tables indoors, and I couldn't help but notice how large and long the two person table was, I felt far away from my friend. It was a Sunday mid morning and the shop had a good amount of people, including families with young children. The staff member who took my order was nice as was the rest of the staff that I interacted with. I ordered the raspberry latte and it was ok. We've come here before and on several occasions found the same thing: One person at each table plugged into their laptop. Sometimes a single person will be at a table for 4. Coffee good but not worth waiting an hour or more for one of these people to leave. They need to make singles sit at tables with other singles. That would help. Coffee is great and they have a reasonable assortment of unique and basic options. Also plenty of seats and outlets, which is great for remote works and learners. My only con is that the WiFi only lasts for 2 hours for every purchase you make. You have to enter a code from your receipt, and if you want to stay longer, you'll have to order another drink/food. Brew is one of my favorite local coffee shops! Their food and drinks are delicious, their service is friendly, and their indoor seating is great! I tried their pumpkin chai latte and it was amazing! It feels like fall in a mug. Their brie and butter ficcelle never disappoints either but make sure to get it toasted. Their indoor seating offers a great atmosphere with a variety of people working on their laptops or just enjoying a conversation over drinks. The food menu is simple yet convenient and prepared with effort in presentation and attentive to details in ingredients. Music is soft and low, conversations a respectful volume from customers. Discovered this place randomly when shopping across the street. Location is pretty spacious compared to their national competition across the street. They have coffee, teas, and snacks. I did not try any of their food as their choices were pretty sparse on a Friday night. A musician was setting up when I stopped in. A number of people were hanging around studying. They have plenty of tables. The tables along the wall have plenty of outlets that are easy to reach. I ordered a vietnamese coffee and it was pretty good. I definitely have to stop in again to try some to of their other drinks. Staff was friendly and pretty quick about making drinks. read more

Great service, delicious organic tea (with no sugar - healthy!), and decent food at slightly high prices. They are popular so it was a bit of a wait, but I enjoyed hanging out with my friend so the wait was actually not a bad thing this time. Lol. We both got the avocado sandwich with a fried egg on top and the sandwich was good... except the egg. :( now, to be fair, I am a master egg maker and I am very particular to how I like my eggs. I would have preferred if they used pink freshly ground salt when seasoning the egg and really for the price and size of the rest of the sandwich, there should have been 2 eggs on it. Not one egg cut in half to spread it out over the sandwich. There was definitely not enough egg but the sandwich was still good, I just could have made a better one so I can't give five stars for something I could have done better... The strawberry mint oolong tea was amazing! Especially considering there was no added sugar. There was still lots of flavor and I enjoyed it :) 5 stars for the tea! Haven't been here in years, I decided to give it a shot after a long time (since covid). Unfortunately nothing has changed. Coffee is mediocre at best. I tried the mint latte and it was okay. I think there are better mint coffees in San Diego/La Mesa. It's not the worst, but there is better coffee out there. One notable thing that has changed is a 2 hour wifi restriction. This is not very student friendly and kind of annoying. I used to study here because of all the big tables which is great for study groups, but with the wifi restriction, that's not really possible. I give it a 2/5 because the staff was very friendly and timely with my order during a rush, they were very nice and helpful when helping me pick out a drink. read more

Big fan of the bitchin avocado toast... it was a unique twist of avocado toast with some type of Cajun seasoning and Canadian bacon. Toast was crispy and food was fresh. This is a great place to study since there's so many seats with outlets. There is a Wi-Fi limit of 2 hours though.
