Looking back, our family watched the medication negatively impact her quality of life, and it was heartbreaking to witness. I understand migraines are extremely difficult to treat, and patients deserve compassion and relief. However, I believe there should have been greater caution, monitoring, and discussion about the risks associated with prolonged use of an opioid nasal spray known to carry dependency concerns. I hope this practice takes concerns about medication dependence seriously and prioritizes safer long-term treatment approaches for vulnerable patients.

Let's start with the basics. Corey Wallach, MD, is a U.S. board-certified orthopedic surgeon with…read morefellowship training in spine surgery. He completed his medical degree at an accredited U.S. medical school, followed by a full orthopedic surgery residency and an advanced spine surgery fellowship focused on both degenerative and complex spinal conditions. His clinical practice centers on disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, spinal deformity, and traumatic conditions. Dr. Wallach is trained in both traditional open and minimally invasive spine techniques and performs procedures such as lumbar and cervical fusions, interbody fusion procedures, decompressions, and motion-preserving surgeries when appropriate. He has hospital privileges at major regional medical centers and participates in multidisciplinary spine care teams involving pain management, rehabilitation, and neurology. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Wallach has been involved in academic and professional activities typical of fellowship-trained spine surgeons, including participation in continuing medical education, adherence to evidence-based surgical guidelines, and engagement with national orthopedic and spine societies. His credentials reflect formal surgical training, specialty board certification, and focused expertise in operative and non-operative management of spinal disorders. Here are the FACTS in my case. First, if you can get an appointment you're having a lucky day. Under normal circumstances he is booked beyond measure, but agreed to take on my case (however that happened is something to be grateful for). My back/spine were bad, seriously bad. After 8+ years of pain and agony, it looked like I had caught a break! Scheduling me ahead of others (I don't know how many) and teaming up with another highly respected surgeon, I finally received approval and had my surgery last week. He spent a lot of time before surgery in pre-op, explaining the surgery and the risks. He answered every question patiently. He wasn't rushed, he was purposeful. When my daughter had questions, he called her. He checked up on me while I was in the hospital and when I got home. The bottom line, for me, is that I am now pain-free, doing moderate PT as required, and feeling the best I have ever felt in YEARS. Of course, every situation is different. But when it comes to having "the gift", you want someone with Dr. Wallach's experience and expertise fixing your spine. ....now Medicare, pay the man!!! :)

All my previous neurologists specialized in other areas and basically just did - what they could - for my migraines which was me trying to figure out what to do, suggesting it, them doing it, and going from there. Dr. Sabet was the first neuro to actually take my migraines seriously and try to figure out how to stop them rather than having me just get through them. Are they gone? No...but I'm back to fully functioning b/c of the efforts she has put into my care. And my body hasn't made that easy - finding meds that work only to have my body reject them later. Dr. Sabet has actually spoiled me by setting what is apparently an impossible bar to meet. I've recently been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder and finding all the necessary specialists has been tough because only my primary care provider comes close to the attention to detail, professionalism, and true concern for my care that Dr. Sabet provides every single time I see her. As for her staff, I've never had a single problem with any of them. They have always been friendly, courteous, and professional. I cannot complain. I'll close with this, I trust and respect Dr. Sabet so much, that even though I have moved out of the immediate DC area, I still drive over two hours one way to see her for each visit necessary and will continue to do so until I physically just can't. Expecting…read moreour first child, we looked at my OB's list of recommended doctors and went with the first one that accepted both my and my husband's insurance companies...somewhat a shot in the dark, but I am convinced we hit the bullseye! While still pregnant, our next door neighbor asked who we'd be using, and after telling her she raved about the practice, and told us her college-age daughter was still going and she was dreading having to find a new doctor for her once she was absolutely too old to go anymore. She had a million good things to say about her experiences with the practice. Perhaps the best endorsement, though, came from our labor and delivery nurse. I was literally right in the middle of the worst part of labor (terrified out of my mind and in incredible pain, of course) when she asked who our pediatrician would be. When we told her, she lit up and said, "I love Dr. Murphy and Dr. Staats! All four of my kids go there!!!" I was immediately calmed and reassured (as much as a woman in labor could be). If a labor and delivery nurse with four children says they're the best, I was already sold. Dr. Staats was the doctor on call the day our son arrived, and was cool, calm, and collected - exactly what we needed in recovery. She also has put me at ease on every question I've raised in our subsequent appointments. We've also seen Dr. Murphy, who I can only describe as so excited (imagine that "so excited" is underlined) to care for his patients and explain in detail the answer to any question you may raise. He was literally bouncing a bit on his toes and gesturing emphatically when reassuring us about a concern we had. It's easy to believe that they both care very much for their little patients. The fact that they have weekend hours is just over-the-top icing on the cake.
