Warning lights came on in my SUV, and I felt a strong pull to turn around and head back 15 miles to Brenham. That decision, though inconvenient at the time, turned out to be a divine appointment. I was traveling alone with my six-year-old son, a fully loaded SUV, and two dogs--one of them just an eight-week-old puppy. My husband called ahead to Appel Ford and spoke with Mary, who told him to send me their way--that they would take care of me. What a profound understatement that turned out to be. Mary and the entire Appel Ford team went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. What could have been a stressful, overwhelming, and potentially dangerous situation was handled with such grace, kindness, and excellence. They were busy--no doubt about it--but they made room to inspect my vehicle quickly so I could get into a rental. Mary also reminded me that I had a Premium Care Package I had completely forgotten about, which helped tremendously with the rental process. What touched me the most was the way they cared for my whole family. The manager noticed I was lowering the windows for my dogs and invited me to bring them inside where it was cool, simply asking me to clean up if needed. The staff kindly helped with my son--offering him water, cleaning up when he spilled, showing him the restroom, and even watching him while I moved our things. They greeted and played with my dogs. Their kindness wasn't just professional--it was genuine. But Appel Ford wasn't done. The very next day, after repairing the sensor issue, they called my husband to report that they had heard a concerning roaring noise during the test drive. Upon further inspection, they discovered that the front driver's side wheel was so loose that it literally came off when they removed the hubcap. Their attention to detail and their refusal to dismiss what could have seemed like a minor issue quite literally saved our lives. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, they once again went the extra mile, processing everything quickly and offering to help me transfer all my things back from the rental. It would have been easy for anyone at that shop to say, "We're too busy." It would have been easy to overlook the sound, to do just the minimum. But they didn't. Because of their diligence and compassion, I am here today with my son and my dogs--safely back home with my family. Words cannot express my gratitude. I will be a customer for life. I've already told everyone I know and will continue to tell them--it is worth the drive to Brenham for service like this. I am reminded of Psalm 91:11-12: "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone." God's protection was evident that day, and Appel Ford was a vessel of His provision. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in the way you served me and my family. -- Katherine T.

Otherwise 1* I had emailed the salesman and told him a used and new Santa Cruz was my interest and made an appointment for this morning. The salesman obviously had not read my email(s) or prepared for my visit. On the new one, I had voiced my concern with the interior prior to visiting and the did send me a video and pics. Upon seeing the interior, decided not for me. On the used one, asked where it was located, he said he would go check. Car was sold. Made excuse later that it sold last night and they are a big dealership (laughable, town has maybe 20,000 people).......and you did not check when you knew I was driving an hour!! Dealership might be okay, salesman I dealt with not so much.

They're your slimy used car salesman. Whatever you do do not engage with these people they want your money and that's all. They bait and switched and lie. The deceptions is their key to business. They try to force a maintenance plan for $1500 on you and when you tell them you don't want it they don't care. I walked out without being ripped off and went to a second place to look for a car, and I made the purchase because they were honest and not deceptive like these conniving thieves. (Old Sales Trick) Looked at the other one that they did have and really didn't like a few things about it. Liz, our Sales Person, got me to look at another truck I did like and wrote up a deal. They asked what it would take to get the deal done so I wrote down what Carvana offed on trade in and wrote down what Kelly Blue Book priced the truck at. The price KBB had down was about six grand cheaper than what they offered. Liz took offer into Managers Office and shortly after Kriss (Sales Manager) came out with Liz. Kriss began the conversation off politely but then turned aggressive and irritated about the price I offered on truck and demanded to know where I got my numbers from. I showed him my offer from Carvana on trade and told him that I got pricing from KBB on new truck value. He went on to tell me that I had to have come by there because of the great deals and that they use another service to price their vehicles. Also told me that I was "ridiculous" on my offer and then wanted me to come back with a better offer. At this point I was done with Kriss and just agreed with him to end conversation and did not make another offer. I have had bad experiences with car dealerships and this guy ranks up there with one of the worst. Rude and arrogant does not close deals in my book, especially when my daughter was present. Cavender has always donated to Colorado County Fair and my wife works in Weimar. That is the reason I gave the dealership a visit. Plus i previously bought a car there about three years ago because of that very reason. I don't know where Kriss is from but if I had to guess he is not from my community. Around here we dont talk to our neighbors like that and we sure as hell don't disrespect them in front of their children.

I hate this so much that I've bought my last two cars from Carvana simply because I wouldn't have to speak to anyone. I find the stereotypical car-buying experience (new and, especially, used) to be unnecessarily stressful and taxing. Today, this has changed. When I found a slightly better deal locally than I did on Carvana, I took the plunge. From the beginning, Angela was super helpful and responsive. She didn't insist on talking on the phone and was happy to text details, which is infinitely more manageable during the workweek. When it came time to make the trek to Austin e Autos, Angela let me know that she would be off that day and handed off the deal to Isaac. Isaac is the best. Isaac put us through the paces of letting us test drive, then talking numbers. At no point did the numbers they advertised ever change. I came in with pre-approval through USAA, and they did not push me toward in-house financing. This has never happened to me before. They usually push that really hard. Once the numbers were agreed upon, we were handed over to Stephanie for the paper signing. This was equally painless, and there was no push to buy extended warranties, wheel insurance, GAP, etc, etc, etc. The numbers we discussed with Isaac were the exact numbers we signed off on with Stephanie. Incredibly painless, transparent, and honest process. My wife loves her car, and I am very impressed by the buying experience. If you're in the market for a used EV, look here first. All the stars. Right from the jump, he was incredibly straightforward. There was zero pressure, zero hassle, and absolutely no need to waste time haggling over the price. He gave it to us straight, which is so rare and refreshing in the car-buying world. ​Our Finance Manager, Michael was equally amazing. Financing a vehicle can usually feel like pulling teeth, but Michael made it a breeze. He was efficient, thorough, and just a great guy to talk to. ​I still can't believe it, but we spent a grand total of only three hours at the dealership. That included the test drive of three used Sequoias, picking the one we liked out of the three, the vehicle inspection, and getting all the final paperwork squared away with finance. We've all heard or experienced the horror stories of spending 6 to 8 hours at a dealership, but Chris and Michael valued our time and had us on the road in a flash. What stood out to us the most was the sheer respect we received. Walking into dealerships can sometimes feel intimidating, but Chris and Michael provided a truly delightful customer experience without a single ounce of judgment or prejudice. I will not be doing business with this dealership again and strongly caution others to be very careful if they choose to do so. My wife and I came in to test drive a car and, after the test drive, submitted a credit application--explicitly authorizing a credit pull--with the clear intent to purchase the vehicle. We were told everything was in order and scheduled an appointment the following morning for my wife to move forward with financing and paperwork. At no point were we informed that the vehicle was still at risk of being sold. While my wife was on her way to completing the financing process, she received a call informing her that the vehicle had been shown to another couple and sold. This occurred despite our salesperson clearly communicating to management that this deal was essentially set. That information was dismissed, and management allowed another salesperson to show and sell the vehicle without extending us even the courtesy of a phone call to give us the opportunity to finalize the purchase--which we absolutely would have done. I work with dealerships regularly in my profession, and while you hear stories like this, you hope they are exaggerated or rare. Unfortunately, this experience proved otherwise. When I raised the issue with management, the response felt scripted, dismissive, and entirely policy-driven, with no ownership or genuine concern for how poorly this was handled. It became very clear that the priority was selling the vehicle as quickly as possible, regardless of fairness, professionalism, or existing commitments. The message sent was simple: once a faster or more convenient sale appears, an active and committed customer is expendable. That reflects a lack of integrity in both process and leadership. I previously had a positive experience purchasing from Toyota of Cedar Park, which makes this situation even more disappointing. This was not a failure of the salesperson I worked with--it was a management decision, and it speaks volumes about how business is conducted there. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this dealership. If you choose to do business here, proceed with caution and do not assume that verbal assurances, credit applications, or scheduled appointments mean anything unless a deal is fully executed. This dealership and its management team should be ashamed of themselves!
