This is one of the nicest dealerships that I have ever dealt with. I felt that each person that I dealt with was knowledgeable, well informed, and very kind. They were not trying to sell me a higher priced car, but rather they seemed to want to find what I was looking for. They did have to hunt to find just the right one, but they kept me apprised as to the expected date of arrival, call me if there was any type of delay, and then were so helpful to get my handi- capped plates moved from my old car to my new, and getting those in- stalled. Reassured this worried traveller. I was driving from one family emergency to another with icy rain the entire way. My tire light kept blinking and then turning on every 15-20 miles. It would turn off after I stopped or slowed down below highway speeds. Having previously had a blow-out, I was nervous about what this light on my dashboard might mean. I spied the Tegeler Toyota sign and made a quick exit. The service department kindly offered to check my tires. Turns out the low tire sensor is near the end of its life on my 2013 Toyota. Seemed like a nice enough fellow but if you have a hybrid vehicle he/they won't touch it... and he will take the time to tell you why. Basically they are dangerous and can kill a technician... if they make a mistake... but I'm hoping the say will come that all cars are hybrids and/or all electric and he will have to work on electrocuting cars... or go back to school? read more

The dealership's website has a Staff listing page. There is almost zero (not absolutely zero because you never know) chance I would ever recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership. The only reason I did was because the new car sales market at that time was having issues with decreased inventory and dealerships were marking up prices by 6%-12% with add-ons and adjustments. This dealership was asking for just under 5% in add-ons. Now dealerships are starting to offer price incentives and most likely things will get better. Joanne H., Sales, was the main person I dealt with. I read another review of her saying that she will not budge from MSRP, but, again, at the time, it was a pretty decent deal. She seemed well-experienced. When problems did come up, I wish she would have stood up more as my advocate, but she did address them. I would consider her the most reasonable among the persons I had to interact with at the dealership. Plus, she did fix an important mistake mentioned below. Jim C., Finance, was not very helpful. I read a review from Robyn H., Austin, TX, dated 12/15/2015, who had good things to say about him, but maybe he liked her better or something happened & he chose to change over the years. First thing that came up was how stuffy that office was. I had to take breaks every so often to hold my breath & breathe through my shirt or drink some water. Second thing that came up was he had to print the contracts/papers not once, not twice, but three times. The second time was because he misaligned the blank forms to the printer. The third time was because I noticed my address was incorrect on the second printed copy. I was patient. Third thing that came up was his attitude/mood. He was all smiles up to when he showed me a table of extended/upgraded service and warranty plans that I declined. Right after he realized he would not get commission that way, his face went sour. When it came to the part when you should talk about financing, it became clear that he had preemptively eliminated that portion of the transaction. In order to meet sales goals, the dealership predated the sales contract to the end of the previous month. I do not know if that is common unwritten practice among dealerships, but that appears dishonest. He also locked me into the highest interest rate at the longest term available from Toyota Financial Services, despite my super prime credit score (within 5% from the maximum score possible), that would potentially cost me an additional $2,000-$3,000 more in interest than I had planned; my plans have changed quite a bit now. His answer to all that was to tell me to just refinance. Even before I stepped into the office, he had already created an inconvenient situation for me. I was reading the papers I was signing and came across the part about accepting the tint work as delivered. That was what triggered me to go back and double-check the work which was flawed. The Sales person noted that stipulation in the papers. Trying to be well-informed for myself, I asked him some questions in which replied with very short answers that gave me minimal information. At one point, I wanted clarification about the default service/warranty plan the dealership required on this sale. He said that in all his years no one has ever asked him that question before and turned the contract around to read the fine print. Apparently, he never read and did not know the specific details of the plans that the finance office was selling himself. Because he was annoyed (he did not hide it at all), he excused himself and stepped out of his office until I was done reading through and signing. During that time, I heard him complain to the Finance Director about her messing up my address on the papers and about me actually reading before signing. If I had signed without reading, then my address would be left incorrect and the tint issue would not have been noted, creating future problems for me. After the sales transaction was complete, I would have expected not to have to deal with him again, but that was not the case. About a month later, my Sales person called me when my license plates were delivered. Apparently, Mr. C. had messed up my address himself on the title & registration and I had to mail out a form to correct it. Crystal B., Finance Director, seemed somewhat agitated. When I went to sign the paperwork and pickup my vehicle, it was near the end of business day as my schedule permitted. The only in-person interaction I had with her was for her to complain about not receiving some documents that I already submitted to the Sales person (which could have been resolved by having them send emails to each other), that I should sign without reading, and that she was going to run late to her dinner plans. read more

The nice part is that I did all of the upfront work over phone and email - no haggling, just a great price in writing, right from the start. Be careful shopping for a car here. I bought a 2012 Toyota Camry and they showed me a autofacts sheet and specifically stated this car had not been in an accident. Come to find out later after viewing a Carfax report the car did in fact had been in an accident. When confronted about this, they said let me check into it. They claim they had no knowledge of the car being in an accident, yet the car was owned by one of their own employees. They said too bad we aren't going to do anything. This behavior is unethical and I will never venture onto a Tegeler lot ever again. I have seven kids who will eventually all need cars. The sad thing is my oldest daughter bought a car from them, but this mistake will never happen again. I still have six kids and I will be buying myself and my kids car elsewhere. read more

Although I now live in Cypress, I still drive to Brenham to get my Highlander serviced here! The waiting room is exceptionally nice & comfortable with complimentary water, tea, & coffee. There's a separate playroom for kids & the bathrooms are spacious & clean. There's also a cute gift shop to look through if you're waiting on your vehicle. I purchased a 2009 BMW Z4 over the phone from Tegeler Toyota (as I live in New York and this car in this color combination was hard to find; hence the nation-wide search). I agreed to purchase the car just going by the pictures on their website and by the salesman's description of the car. I worked with salesman Don McCarty and he was a pleasure to deal with. He was available for me whenever I needed him (both via phone and text message); as a transaction being done 100% remotely does have its complexities. I took my car To Tegeler because the reviews sounded good, however, I was quite surprised when I picked up my car. I took my car in because something was drawing the power from my battery. When I picked up my car it was returned to me dirtier than when I took it in. There was grease or black stuff all over my seats and dash, pieces of tie wraps where they cut out some of the wiring was left on the floorboard. You would think they could at least vacuum and clean the car up at least to the same condition it was brought it. Whatever they did with the wiring, they then said my car alarm would no longer work and I had to buy a new one, which I did and wasn't happy about. When I went to pick it up, the new car alarm didn't even work. I have definitely had better service at other dealerships. read more
