Our journey started with Larry, Lisa, Kody and Chase 18 years ago with our 1st Rhodesian Ridgeback, Miss Ruby! We were referred to Breed Master by our Vet. What a wonderful 18 years and 3 Rhodesian's later, Zeus and Willow to add to the tribe. This is a very special breed, large dog, protector, loyal, has its pack, working dog, loving, full of cuddles and licks. In saying this, it is also a breed if not trained will steam roll all over you. Larry and his boys over the years have worked with all 3 dogs, while all having their own personalities (the dogs that is) they still have the basic traits of a Rhodesian which is in the hound family. I have found being an adult dog owner (very different to be a child and having a "family pet") this was an awakening. There was A LOT to learn on top of being a dog mom I was a people mom too, actually not much difference. If you want a happy healthy social dog well trained (hand commands) guess what it starts with YOU! Just like raising children, YOU set the boundaries, YOU keep the schedules, YOU are alpha, and you will get back tenfold with so much love loyalty and respect. Don't get me wrong at times they try to push the boat out, try is the key word, they know their commands listen and obey and are proud of themselves when they do good and rewarded for ONLY positive behavior. They were fully crate trained (we call crates "condos" Larry would laugh at us) fully potty trained, yes, the occasional accident OUR FAULT off schedule until they were old enough to hold if we ran late and they would go to their condo's as we were told they do not mess in their safe space unless left for hours. Again, like children, age appropriateness. We board with Lisa and on occasion use Lisa for day care, she is amazing so loving with all her dogs. The whole family is a loving Dog family. I trust Breed Master 100% with my 4-legged babies as much as I would with my 2-legged babies and will continue to do so as I have seen what goes on at these doggie hotels and playdays in addition to other methods of training where friends have paid 2 to 3 times as much and still have large dogs jumping on guests at the door - unacceptable! If any bad behavior is happening in your house - sorry you are the root cause and you need the help of Breed Master quickly before you no longer want and love your animal and your animal, no longer loves you because it's being yelled at all day long and doesn't understand why and feels abused and unloved (yes animals have feelings). THE DOG TRAINER RECOMMENDED AT THE PET SUPERMARKET ON WESTON ROAD, LARRY, THE DRUNK FROM BREEDMASTERS DOG ([*** Link removed ***] TRAINING IS A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, A CROOK!!!!!!! EXPENSIVE, AND ONCE YOU PAY HIM HE DOES NOT CARE.... ALL HE CARES IS ABOUT YOUR MONEY. AND SINCE HE REQUIRES YOU PAY HIM WITH A CHECK YOU WILL NEVER GET IT BACK EVEN IF HE DOESN'T TRAIN YOUR DOG. NOT ONLY DID HE NOT RETURN OUR MONEY HE TOOK THE eCOLLAR WE PURCHASED FROM HIM WHICH WAS NOT WORKING "BACK" TO EXCHANGE IT FOR ANOTHER ONE AND DOES NOT WANT TO GIVE IT TO US NOW!!!!! Not only did we trust him with our dogs, and welcomed him into our home, but paid him over $2,000 to train our dogs. He came to our home approximately 4 times. At times showed up drunk and stayed for NO more than 20 minutes....... Was NEVER following up with us. My husband and I both are self employed and have businesses, with great customer service and reviews. This guy on the other hand has NO customer service skills, no people skills for that matter... I guess that's why he "works" with dogs. Let me go on to his training method........ Since my dog is very active he then suggested we try the training with an eCollar.. An eCollar is an electronic collar. Basically something I could have figured out by myself. Again, we trusted in him and paid another $500 and sum for the 2 eCollars. We tried training with the eCollar and one of the eCollars stopped working... He took it with him and said he would get a new one, at which time he never came back. I called him over 10 times to book another training session and he said he would call me back when he got home and never did. My husband tried calling him at which point he was EXTREMELY RUDE, YELLED AT HIM AND HUNG UP ON HIM. I've tried calling him myself several more times to get our eCollar back and he literally yells at me and hangs up on me!!!! I am NOT one to comment or review businesses, but I will go out of my way to make sure EVERYONE knows what kind of a DRUNKEN CROOK this guy is!!! DO NOT give this guy money!!! TERRIBLE experience! I dropped my Australian Sheppard, Checko, off in the hopes that he would come back crate trained as Larry promised. Upon picking up Checko there were some immediate red flags. When Larry told Checko to sit, using a hand signal, Checko's ears shot back and he flinched in fear. When I asked for Checko's leash and harness, Lisa and Larry told me they had somehow lost them. Then they returned the wrong container of food and upon asking for the correct container they gave me another wrong container. Despite these red flags, I still clutched onto the hopes of bringing home a healthy and trained pup. I quickly realized that Checko showed no signs of being crate trained. Sadly, it doesn't stop there...to my horror Checko had two giant, infected HOLES in his neck from a bark collar. I took him to the vet and they had to put him under to shave his neck and clean the multiple wounds on his neck. (Pictures attached) They informed me that the bark collar not only picks up Checko's bark, but any bark in the vicinity. This is horrifying due to the fact that when you pull into Larry's house you can an orchestra of barking dogs inside. Furthermore, they informed me that wounds of this magnitude are due to leaving the collar on nonstop. A rational and humane person would notice irritation and remove the collar, Larry on the other hand completely neglected him till he had two giant, INFECTED HOLES in his neck. Of course, Larry refuses to answer me or refund my payment. My experience with Larry has been horrifying and quite frankly sickening. If I don't get my money back I'm okay with that, but I'm NOT okay with Larry continuing to ABUSE dogs under the guise of a trainer! So PLEASE if you love your dog, DO NOT send him or her to Larry!! read more

I rescued a 6-month-old golden retriever, and when I would walk her, she'd drag me across the yard and try to attack any ducks, cats, squirrels nearby, she would chew up my baseboards and have accidents in the house. Lisa and Dakota spent time with her and the difference is insane. She's perfectly house trained now, I can't remember the last time she had an accident. My biggest thing was her pulling on the leash and dragging me. She walks right next to me now. And when she sees another dog walking or any other animal, she stays put. Dakota and Lisa are wonderful people who genuinely care about how your dog is doing after they leave. They check in with you, and Lisa, most especially, is great with checking in to make sure they're keeping up with their training. I especially love that you can text or call Lisa with any questions you have and she's always happy to help. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to for this situation because I was so impressed and grateful for how my dog was treated. Anyone who is a pet parent knows how important they are to us. My Madi is my entire life, and I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with her now. They also send you photos and videos of your dog, which was a huge relief for me, personally. I just recently got a new puppy, and he's definitely going to be going to them for training as well. Don't believe any of these negative reviews. These are fantastic people. It's a family business that they've run for years, and they're very good at what they do. It's so rare to find dog trainers that actually care about your pets. Hello! I came to Breedmaster Dog Training in search of obedience help for my bull terrier puppy, Nina. Before starting the program with Breedmaster, I felt very frustrated and lost on how to go about training my dog. I tried clicker training and other methods with her before but was struggling to get my dog to listen. If you know anything about bull terriers they are high energy, stubborn, and rambunctious dogs. After having my dog work with the trainers Lisa, Cody, and Larry over a few months, I started to see improvements in not only her active listening but her attitude and walking ability. I could never get her to walk longer than five to ten minutes before the training and now she is actually excited to go out with me and practice walking properly. Breedmaster taught me that part of my difficulties before came from me not understanding my dog's perspective and her ability to understand what I want. It took actually training myself with the program to really see improvements. Larry and his family are 100% dog people and really care about the dogs they take in to train. They understand that it takes the owner's initiate to really feel comfortable and be active with the training at home for actual progress to occur. I love that they offer private and group lessons after their initial in-house training, and they are always available to answer any questions, night or day, about training, diet, and even health concerns for your dog. I owe the world to Lisa, Koty & Larry. My dog Chonk was genuinely unmanageable before BreedMaster dog training. I also had no idea how to control him. I would cry after most walks because he would either embarrass me, put me/others at risk or hurt me because I didn't know how to control his unruly behavior around other people & dogs. He is a reactive dog. I didn't properly socialize him and it showed. I moved from rural living in NC with no neighbors to busy SWFL apartment living. The transition was traumatic for us both & apartment living with his unpredictability wasn't sustainable. After realizing my dog was a liability, I decided to do the board & train off-leash month long course. I am so grateful I did. Not only did they train Chonk, they trained me too! I feel confident walking him and he feels confident with me as his handler. Being able to have him off leash and know I can recall him in a pinch has been life changing. I have no idea where we'd be if I hadn't, but I tell everyone I meet that I will NEVER own a dog that isn't off leash obedience trained. And you shouldn't either!! Rarely I express evaluations but Larry and Leesa deserve this and more. I had the pleasure to have in my life Sofia, an amazing pure breed Weimaraner as well as a super active dog. I was at a certain point desperate then I met them. I learnt a new world in terms of what you can learn how your dog thinks and what is the best way to interact with it for the best life with your four legs friend. Larry explained me there is no magic wound, it's impossible to have it trained without any effort from you parent. it's a process in which the owner has to learn first how the dog thinks and how he has to work with him constantly patiently and consistently to have finally results, group classes, private classes, hear every single word from Larry's mouth and the results are guaranteed besides a better life with your dog. Larry and Leesa are definitively dogs lovers, they board your dog if you need to travel and you can be sure it's treated in the best way possible. Absolutely HIGHLY recommend! We actually work with Lisa for a few other services- 1- dog sitting (at her house) 2- dog walking (from my house) 3- cat sitting (from my house- comes to check on her!) She (and the family!) are beyond fantastic! First, my pup Maya loves Lisa and fam. I've had a few different emergencies and planned trips where I want to keep Maya safe and ensure she still has fun and Lisa has taken the best care of my girl! Every regular week, she comes to walk Maya since I work so far... she keeps me updated and I get the cutest pics of my girl. And finally, my cat Mila (you'd think she's the easier one vs my pup but nope! She's older and requires a little extra love)... but not only has Lisa stopped by, fed her extra, and just made sure she's ok when I'm away, but even when she walks Maya during her weekly walks, Lisa checks on Mila and gives her love. I have to say Thank You to Larry and Lisa many times over. All my dogs are create trained, off leash, and with different kinds of command trained thanks to Larry and Lisa. I have one dog I took in because her original owner died and when she came to me she had a bad attitude. When she came back to me from Larry and Lisa's she is now a happy dog that no longer tries to attack everyone. She is a bundle of joy to be around and loves playing with kids and other dogs. I thought that would never happen. My house is not ran by my animals.... Once the structure was laid out for my dogs, I was able to maintain and grow over the years with more enjoyment of being able to take them places and other people enjoying them as well. I found myself with what seemed to be an unruly, untrainable 4-month-old German Shepard and I cannot express how grateful I am to have found Larry and Breedmaster Dog Training. After an initial meeting during which all of Chase's terrible behaviors were (to my embarrassment) exhibited, Larry and I discussed that the best move was to enroll Chase in Puppy Training Camp. Larry expressed nothing but care and patience throughout the entire process and my puppy has done a complete 180. Now, at 16 weeks, I have enrolled Chase in Service Dog Training and I am confident about his success because of the level of training we received from Larry; this is a feat I would've never imaged possible before. Larry is great with dogs. I've been taking my cane corso to breedmaster dog training for some time now. I've listened to everything he says to do and it's all worked out very well for me and my pup. Whenever I have questions or concerns, Lisa and Larry are always there to help. I have left my dog with them for 7 days with no problems at all! Very simple. Take the dog, crate and whatever other essentials your dog needs and you're good to go. Every time my boy sees Larry he becomes beyond ecstatic! I've done plenty of private training at breedmasters location in southwest ranches. I've seen the living conditions of all the animals inside and everything looked great. BreedMaster Dog Training is the absolute best! I purchased my dog "Vito" from Larry as a puppy and began obedience training at eight weeks. Larry came to my home and taught me the techniques to not only understand my dog but to achieve the results I wanted. Larry is simply the best trainer around. We have been training with him and our Goldendoodle, Augie. When we started with Larry, Augie was very much like Tigger; extremely bouncy! He jumped on everyone and though he was very friendly he was a bit out of control and we were nervous to have people over. We had him with a different trainer but weren't really seeing results. We had private classes and group classes with Larry and now continue to attend to keep Augie's skills up, plus he loves class! I am very proud to say we can take Augie anywhere and have anyone over. I have 3 cats and a golden retriever. Whenever we travel, we can rest easy knowing they're all well taken care of. Lisa or Koty stops by the house to feed the cats and we trust them with keeping our dog at their home. He's always safe and sound there and comes home in good shape. They're super accommodating with pick up and drop off times too so if you're catching late flights it's okay, just coordinate with Lisa ahead of time. On occasion we've also had them stop by to walk our dog if we're just going to be gone too long that day and they're very reliable, even fitting us in last minute when we got stuck in traffic once. read more

BREEDMASTER DOG TRAINING IS A RIPOFF--- located in S.W. Ranches, Fl. (Near Fort Lauderdale) Rating is 0 We took our Golden Retriever for 5 days boarding to go to our Grand Daughters graduation. We picked up the dog and she had a gash in her head and severe diarrhea. The vet said it looks like she had been jailed in a crate to small for her and her water bowl. We feel stupid cause we went there and did not check out Ripoff Report. They have a ton of complaints Larry, the owner is an idiot. He refused returning any of our money and we have a $120.00 vet bill. read more

Larry and Lisa are THE BEST! I had to flight with my dog within 2 weeks, and was very concerned about his behavior. He gave us an intensive training, and with 4 lessons Flash was able to walk in public as a gentleman! We got only compliments at the airport and during the flight for his good behavior!
