After determining my needs (for my elderly Mom, actually), he recommended a modest upgrade to the desktop. The Computer Doc's prescription - for Skyping and easily accessing email - was just right. Granted it was a quick check and I asked them specifically to look at one component but it still says a lot about the type of operation they run at Microtime Computers. Most recently I screwed up the installation of a graphics card and I thought I fried my PSU in the process so I brought my system in and they tested it for me. Sure enough, I killed the PSU. I asked what my options were/if they thought I killed other components and the guy told me it was possible that I did but it would be $90 to take a close look. He recommended I buy a new PSU, plug everything up and hope for the best considering I would need a new PSU regardless. If I was having troubles he told me to bring it in first thing Monday and they'd evaluate the whole situation for me. I got lucky and everything survived, system started right up with a new PSU. They could've charged me the $90 and then told me all I needed was the PSU but they didn't do that. I'll be back whenever I have an issue I can't deal with by myself.

The company offers home/office service visits, but we frequently drop off our towers/laptops for maintenance. Turnaround is very speedy. Visiting Geeks delivers sage advice on upgrades (when needed) and does solid repair/maintenance what's more, they can do the research/shopping for you and will tailor a system appropriate for your personal needs/use. Visiting Geeks is happy to recycle (for you) older/disabled systems so you don't have to wait/take to your town's 'computer/monitor' recycling day, and even refurbishes newer systems for resale (perfect and less expensive solution for school aged kids or the casual computer user not requiring the latest and greatest in technology). Travel to Merrimac, MA (should you live a distance away like we do) should be figured into overall repair costs, but we are very satisfied with the service, advice and support we get from Visiting Geeks. When/if something goes wrong (which frequently happens with computers/technology), Visiting Geeks fix it to the best of their ability.
