Probably the worst experience I've have at least for gun repairs/gun smithing. I bought my first gun here and I really loved the place.. unfortunately I won't ever be coming here again. I took 2 slides and just wanted the iron sights swapped, that was about a month ago. Mind you a sight swap is at most 30min. They told me they were super swamped and I completely understand it's not a primary carry gun or even a gun I need, but a month to swap sights? Come on. I'm not one to go out of my way to write a review, but a day before new years I called in after a month of waiting and they told me they should have it done that day so I should be ready to come pick it up Friday (today) January 2 2026. Well I show up at 11:30 not even at open time. And it's not done... it's beyond ridiculous at this point and completely unacceptable. My go-to store for firearms purchases, transfers, consignments, or just browsing. I've never had any issues, that doesn't mean they're perfect, but it's the other side of the disgruntled customer coin. There are cheaper places to buy from but that's due to sales volume, a local shop can't compete (price wise) with the Sportman's Warehouses of the world, but they have the knowledge, selection (especially the consignments), on site gunsmith, etc that those big stores lack. I was looking at consignment rifles when the angry older man turned off the lights and said it's time to go . I have purchased 2 guys from Breco Firearms and a boatload of ammunition. 1 rifle transfer from GunBroker 1 pistol direct purchase from Breco Firearms. Various ammo transferred from GunBroker and direct purchases. I have 1 Complaint. They are not listed as an FFL on GunBroker so every time I purchase a gun or ammo I have to have the GunBroker seller contact Breco Firearms and they do the FFL dance. I wish they were listed on GunBroker so I could just click them and be done. Other than that, these guys are great. Prices on transfers are pretty good given the COVID prices these days, I haven't found a better deal yet from an actual shop. I see some deals from non-shop FFLs but I don't want to walk into someone's home to buy guns and ammo. Every time I walk in, it's the same, just some dudes hanging out, nice people, friendly chit-chat. No one has tried to B.S. me, in fact, I received advice from whom I believe was the owner about two guns, both turned out to be good advice. read more

I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because of the positive things I've heard, but that was definitely not my experience, twice. Before the pandemic, I went there to look at their firearms selection since I was looking to purchase a 40-45 caliber handgun. The employee behind the counter that assisted me was cocky and standoffish. He was knowledgeable about firearms though which was helpful. I didn't purchase from there because of their lack of selection at the time. Yesterday, I called the business to see if they were available for private sales. The employee on the phone verbally checked with the manager which I heard, and I was told to arrive at the shop "not when it's busy", and they would take care of it. Today, I went to the business at around 1 PM. No line, and a few customers inside. I was told to come inside which I did, and approached the same employee who assisted me the only other time I had been there. I told him that I had contacted the business the day prior and what I was told. He abruptly told me that private transactions are by appointment only and there was no availability until July 2021. He then said "well I don't know who told you that, but we cant until least July. While I'm not sure how the customer service from other employees or supervisors at this business are, this employee treated me in a way that I will not return. I left the business and drove directly to Halfcocked in Old Town about a mile away. I told them about my experience at which point they told me they had heard that several times before. They were respectful, courteous, answered my questions and completed my transactions. They earned a customer because that's how you treat people who want to spend money in your business. read more

OUTSTANDING! I've been buying firearms for a little over ten years now and for the first time ever I received a warm welcoming upon entering a gun shop. Not only did I receive a welcoming but throughout my visit I was greeted by every salesman there. I took notice how everyone entering was welcomed with a smile too. I also noticed that at no time was anyone ever made to feel dumb or stupid by a persons lack of firearm knowledge (this is something I've seen EVERYWHERE except The Range their also pretty professional), the salesman would politely explain and teach. So if things couldn't get any better based on customer service alone I was one happy camper with the on hand inventory they had. They had everything! SCAM ON PRICE: Be careful if you shop at Breco. If you need FSC, they will over charge ($50) then the normal State allow. I was shopping there over a month ago and I overheard one of their employees told a customer the cost for FSC test is $50. That is wrong, it is only $25 ($10 goes to the FSC instructor and the rest goes to the State). They will lied to you and overcharged for everything. Good thing I never needed the FSC, because I'm exempt. Read up on the State exemption for purchase of firearms, because you can save yourself the headache and cost of having to take the FSC. Educate yourself so you wouldn't get rip-off by a company like Breco. read more

I will have to say I've been going to Breco over 10 years. The service I got today was the absolute worst customer service I've received. I don't need anything from the store I was just hoping to find something as a surprise for my wife because she's getting nervous during these crazy times. The kid, yes I will call him a kid, because no adult treats another adult that crappy. From the moment he opened the door with an attitude to the minute I walked out he was very rude. Guys are extremely helpful and I enjoy going into the store and being around them every minute. They always make you feel at home. Ken always asks about my dad and how he's doing. Been going to these guys for many years. I probably bought over 20 guns from them. Before and after I joined law enforcement, these guys have treated me the same and not any different. I just hate that every time I walk in, I leave with something. The money I've spent there probably paid for their one month rent and employee paychecks. Plus the one guy who drives a Tesla is weird. I will never return there. I have been there twice, and both times they were very rude and cocky. I totally understand why they work there, they would be fired anywhere else in a minute. Their system is down and they will not tell you when it will be restored so they cannot give you your guns. I totally understand that things happen, but the fact that has been more than a week and they only say that they will call me when the system is back on without an estimated time or even a brief explanation shows how little they care for their customers. I went into this establishment June 5 to tranfer 2 firearms to Alaska since i was moving and they couldnt be driven through Cananda. When I was in Alaska and settled I tried calling to get the tracking number to see if it had arrived in Alaska. This is when the run around began. June 23rd was my first call. 3x that day I got the "got your name and number, we are busy and will call you back." I went to the FFL dealer hoping he could help, nope when he called they said it had shipped the day before and they would call him with the tracking number. No call, no shipment. My last call was June 30th, by then they knew who o was and handed it off to Tanner who said it was shiped and.... we are busy we got your name and number blah blah blah. It's obvious they are out for the money, once they got it there is no customer service. They are not part of the BBB. My next step is to report the firearms stolen. read more

Buyer beware! I purchased $300 for a box of ammo. The ammo was so bad it misfired 1 in 6 shots through 200 rounds. Not only did he refuse a refund on the ammo (I get that he can't take the liability of reselling it, but he sold me junk), he said I was at fault for buying it. Will never do business here, and will steer you elsewhere too. Check out PRK or Old West Arms. They have much better customer service. read more
