walked in with Two handguns for sale 4 men in small room two sitting two standing, the two sitting asked what they could do for me. I asked if they buy guns the replied yes they do. I handed two guns in original cases to the man sitting he opened the boxes and both men immediately started talking down about my brand new never fired perfect condition guns. proceeded to educate me on how they are not worth much because they are not desirable then the man standing started also saying the same thing on and on four men just bashing the guns, one said they have 10-12 in the back they cant sell. I said ok so you dont want them thats all you had to say but they kept talking about how much better the new guns out today are! I just grabbed my stuff off the table and walked out. Came by this shop on a weekend for a gun smithing expertise with no luck. They were recommended by gun counter employee at Turneroutdoorsman. The shop is a small space in old town Clovis. They had great reviews on Yelp, which would probably explain how busy they get. I came in on a Saturday and they were very very busy. Not enough space in their small shop to accommodate 8-10 people excluding two employees. I could not even manage to enter their place of business .Email and contact info was available on Yelp and their website. I have sent multiple messages and email but until now, no reply was sent on their behalf. I am disappointed. There really not too much gun smith services available in Fresno:Clovis. Will give the shop a second visit and another try in the near future and see if I will be able to get some help next time. read more

Came in here to restore my colt elite team and one of the workers took the gun apart and left the "idiot" scratch where the pin goes in! Please do not bring your gun in for any kind of service situations because they will ruin your gun before they even start working on it! Then denied it was even them and blame it on you ! read more

Went there to have some repair work done on one of my firearms. The business is very small and had a lot of people in it. People were standing outside just as a gathering place. I got up to my turn, and they went past me and went to the two people behind me. Found out after standing in line that their gunsmith had moved to Arizona. I called to ask for any Winchester lever action rifles in stock and some dude answered "sir if we had any, we'd sell them all day." Like wtf kind of answer is that?? I needed to have a stock shortened to my length of pull on my beautiful brand new Italian hand engraved over under shotgun and asked Frank if that was something he could do. Well, he shortened it to the correct length...but the quality of the work was very sub parr to say the least. The biggest issue was that he used JB Weld to fill in the low spots and glue the spacer to the wood. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. He may be an excellent gunsmith with very fair prices but the beautiful wood on my fine Italian shotgun needs some refinishing and is now marred in several places...a wood worker he is not. In hindsight, I should have sacrificed the extra time and taken it to the only Gunsmith in town that could do the job correctly...and that is what I have done. Sorry Frank, you are a very nice guy and I wish you well but in good consciousness I can't recommend Halfcocked Gunsmithing to others. read more

They solved the stuck cartridge problem quickly and suggested solutions to the original problem of a malfunctioning bolt carrier group. I took my .45 to have grip screws and mainspring housing replaced from plastic to metal. Frank did not parts in stock, so he took the ones off of his own gun and put them on mine until the ordered ones came in. Now THAT is customer service. Since then, he has been the only person I trust with my guns, and I have never been disappointed. Even when I was willing to pay for him to work on my Ruger Red Label, he sent it out to Ruger because it was on warranty. Very honest, very forthright. read more
