I was also worried about missing work since I had just started a new job. The staff here was so nice and understanding about that and was able to work with my schedule. The office is located in the Aloha United Way building on the corner of North Vineyard Blvd and A'ala Street. There's a lot of parking in the building itself(make sure to check in at the security desk) and also street parking(metered.) I recently "graduated" from both pelvic floor therapy and physical therapy for my knees. At first I was seeing Julie for my pelvic floor therapy. She was so amazing with helping me figure out the cause of my pain and has taught me how to be more aware and mindful of my body. She also encouraged me to start my running journey. I had mentioned how I was thinking about signing up for some races, but I wasn't sure since I was having all that pain in my pelvic area and my history with pain in my knees. Julie encouraged me to just start running and even gave me some tips for my knee pain. I ended up running and was having problems with my knees again. My PCP sent a referral to Holomua for that as well and that's where I met Steph and Neil(the owner.) Steph and Neil helped me so much with my running journey! I learned a lot and will forever carry all this knowledge with me along my running journey. I've gotten physical therapy services elsewhere before and it didn't help. Holomua made me feel heard and didn't make me feel like I was being a "baby" about all the pain I was having. So far I've ran the King's Runner 2025, Hapalua half marathon 2025, and will be running in the Honolulu Marathon this year as well with the help of Neil's advice and words of encouragement. Julie, Steph, and Neil have been wonderful. I'd highly recommend them to friends and family in the future.

I was assigned…read moreto a therapist who was young and whose response to any comment or a question was a high giggle and a murmured "Oh, I see I see". I was assigned a bunch of exercises and she did not know how to print out instructions for me. She instead uploaded them to an app instead, which had me do some basic exercise exercises for up to three minutes. When I came back ten days later (she was unavailable before then) and I asked why they were so long, she said that was incorrect, but she didn't know how to change the routine in the app. She had me go back to my previous workout routine. So in the end, some of the issues with my shoulder did go away. But honestly, it did not inspire confidence in the quality of all the therapists. I think with some you're good with others not so good.

Here comes Dr. Yoshimoto, who literally decreased my mom's knee pain by 90% after 1 visit. Yes, you heard that right - 90%!!! He was extremely patient, kind, and really broke it down in terms of pinpointing what exactly was going on, what treatment was needed, and what exercises to do at home. He was so shocked and was left speechless that my mom was dealing with inept individuals all this time - clowns, I tell you! Unbelievable. You can tell that Dr. Yoshimoto genuinely cares for each of his patients. He's not the typical physical therapist who gives you some stretches to do, hooks you up to a muscle stimulating machine, and/or gives you a head pad and calls it a day. He actually tries to target the source of pain! I left a voicemail and he called me back the same day. He was able to see me the next morning. It was easy to find with my GPS. Parking was challenging but I got fortunate and got a visitors parking stall right in front of the building. I entered the space and I immediately felt comfortable. It was quaint, relaxing, and decorated very posh. I quietly waited on the plush comfy sitting area while Brandon was finishing up with a Client. After he was done he gave me his full attention. He joined me in the sitting area to get to know me and assess why I was seeking treatment. I really appreciated the time he took to explain his history, background and how he helps heal many people. It was time to begin. The room I was assigned to was very clean with soft tranquil sounds. He allowed me the time I needed to prepare for treatment then came back and began. In my case, the syndrome manifests itself as a very tight right leg and foot, tingling and varying levels of numbness in my right foot, and stiffness and weakness in my right leg and core. This causes me significant difficulty in walking, necessitating the use of mobility assistive devices such as a walker, cane, knee cart, and shower bench. This has negatively impacted my quality of life, limiting my activities including travel, concerts, and more. My doctor's office made a request to do my physical therapy. My physical therapist Harvey did an evaluation on what I needed to work on in terms of exercises to help with my neck and shoulder. 2 physical therapy assistants looks in my file to know what exercises that I need. There is a machine which pt assistant set up so it can massage my neck for 20 minutes and heating pad under my back. While I am doing my exercises, they are helping at least 2 other people with their exercises. After I am done with my exercise, Harvey massages my neck and back. HMSA will only allow me 10 physical therapy sessions. At last session, physical therapist will do his evaluation.

I went in to recover from my pregnancy. After about 2 months, I was much better. You don't realise how far you've fallen as far as muscle strength until you're asked to do simple things. I've worked with Allison for the past few months and can't recommend their office enough for any men dealing with pelvic pain. Prior to my first visit I was dealing with severe nerve pain shooting through my groin into my abdomen and down my legs making everything from sitting to walking across a room feel like being stabbed constantly. Each session has been incredible with both helping to identify the root of the problem and education on what I can do to help progress the treatment in between appointments. I've recovered enough to get back to regular walks and routine trips with minimal pain and continue to address even the tiniest flare ups with Allison's help.
