Absolutely amazing! The only place I trust for charcuterie. Plus the staff is super professional and attractive.

Bottega Italian Deli in Thousand Oaks is basically a sandwich dealership. You walk in "just to…read morelook" and leave emotionally attached to a hot Italian like it paid your rent. Food? Stupid good. Bread's legit, meat's piled up like they're trying to protect you from starvation trauma, and everything tastes fresh like somebody's nonna is in the back judging your life choices. One bite and you're like... yeah ok, I get why people act feral about this place. But the line? Chaos. Not "organized deli line," more like "everyone just kinda vibes near the counter and hopes they get noticed." You'll see one dude who's been standing there 8 minutes pretending he's fine but he's clearly spiraling. And there's always someone ordering like it's their last meal: "Can I do the #7 but no onions, extra peppers, sauce on the side, cut it like triangles, and tell it I'm proud of it?" Relax, it's a sandwich, not a therapy session. Prices aren't cheap, but neither is happiness, so whatever. Overall: 4.5/5. If you want a real Italian deli sandwich that'll make Subway feel like a prank, go here. Just be ready to fight for your spot in the deli ecosystem.

The sandwich portions are hefty and they are well loaded. We felt like we got our money's worth in freshness and quantity. The veggie sandwich was a bit bland and needed a better balance of ingredients. But the chicken parmigiana sandwiches were packed with flavor, as was the Italian cold cut sandwich. My recommendation for this place would be to improve on the quality of the bread they use as it lacks flavor or richness. Put those ingredients on real sourdough bread or focaccia and it would be a very memorable sandwich. To the owner: we visited your lovely home town, as mentioned in your business profile, while we were in Rome a few years ago and had the most unforgettable pizzette rosse while there. Beautiful lake scenery and weather. Interesting coincidence : )

I've been to one before but my wife has not, so we ended up ordering the four course dinner for two! The restaurant was very clean and the service was top notch, all of the servers and employees that work there are so nice and they acknowledge you each time they walk past. Our dinner came with one cheese fondue and we chose the fiesta cheese that is served with dippers such as bread, apples, peppers, tortilla chips, pretzel bread and more. The cheese was outstanding and we loved the velvety texture and the spiciness of the cheese with the pico and jalapenos. Next we chose a salad, and we both picked the caesar salad, which was also amazing! The lettuce was perfectly crips, the dressing was tasty and we loved the addition of the parmesan dusted pine nuts! For our entree we chose the Coq Au Vin as the cooking style and I got the steak lovers and my wife ordered the classic entree. My favorite steak is hands down the teriyaki steak! My wife loved the shrimp and the pork was really tasty. It was an awesome experience and they bring a variety of sauces for your meats as well. Two we loved were the plum sauce and the green goddess. For the dessert we had to go with the flaming turtle! The candied pecans were amazing on top! The dippers that they brought for this were rice crispies, marshmallows, pound cake, strawberries, bananas, and more! Since we were celebrating Valentine's Day our waitress brought us out a small piece of cake with a decorated plate, it was so sweet! She was the best, her name was Ashley D and she literally went above and beyond to make our dinner amazing- Thank you!! If you've never tried the Melting Pot, definitely give it a try. It's such a great experience. The price is a little high but you get 4 courses and it's a great interactive date night with your partner. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day despite being 5 days ahead of the event which we thought was a nice touch. We were seated to a booth right away and got us going with drinks and menus. Ultimately, we ordered the 4 course big dinner which is made up of a cheese fondue course, salad, main ( the big dinner is a selection of mostly steak and seafood) and chocolate turtle for dessert with extra dipping condiments. Despite having done this before and knowing what to expect...we found the dining experience fun and while our main had some steak, salmon and shrimp...it's not same as ordering a "surf and turf" at any other restaurant. The portion sizes of this meal for two is about right we certainly didn't leave hungry nor overly stuffed. Lastly, service wasn't bad, our server was fairly attentive and available to answer our questions. That said, there seemed to be pockets of time where nothing was happening...perhaps it's because a pot of cheese needs to melt or seasoned broth needs to boil... waiting I guess is part of the unique expedience as well...it's a good thing my wife and I have a lot to talk about, LOL! Finally, there is only one Melting Pot in Southern California...the next closest other location is in Sacramento! that alone is the reason to partake in this unique dining experience. My wife and I will be back sooner than the last time!

Immediately we noticed that the…read moreinside of the restaurant was nicely decorated and well lit, an appropriate space for a lovely dinner, or so we thought. At the time the dining room was sparsely populated, only a few other tables were seated. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered within a few minutes of sitting down; my wife ordered the seafood pasta I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the tomato burrata salad as an appetizer. After about 20 minutes the waitress returned to let us know that they were out of the pasta, so my wife asked for the risotto instead. The salad arrived quickly, however my wife noted that it was missing grilled peaches that were listed in the menu description, a disappointment. The salad itself was balsamic dressed cherry tomatoes with a single piece of burrata on top. Another 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived. Much to my dismay my dish lacked any appreciable character; it was as if they had cooked six month old frozen pasta and thrown up a brown sauce with fried sage on top. My wife's risotto was mostly cheese but was also similarly devoid of other flavors. Now to be fair to the folks here, I did mention to the waitstaff that the flavors in the food were off and they did reduce the bill. They were also apologetic about the wait we faced. Nevertheless, restaurants have three things they need to do well in order to be successful: food, service and ambience. Perhaps if they improved the quality of the food and the time to service more people would come. Needless to say, but I won't be returning.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

He brought home a wrapped piece of cornbread, a pound container of vegetable chili, and a tiny lemon bar slice. For $15. What?! He reported that service was good. And the presentation for the little lemon bar in a fancy bakery box was lovely. My sticker shock had me questioning take out as a concept. Their soups are priced at $7.99 a pound, which seems on the high side. The soup was tasty, if a bit spicier than I expected. I did enjoy the beans included with the vegetables for added body and flavor. For me, the cornbread was too dry and flaky to be fully enjoyable. That was the least favorite of the items for my eating experience. Crumbs were flying everywhere as I tried to eat it. The lemon bar was overly petite for $5, in my humble opinion. It was very tasty, and not too sweet. The texture was on the dense side. My preference is a little lighter & fluffier. Overall, I appreciated that DH was searching for softer items I could eat while going through my dental issues. The cost seemed high for a meal that I mostly enjoyed, but didn't send my tastebuds to a heavenly place.
