Lunch lasts for 2 hours, and you get to choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert from a limited menu. The meal starts off with a bread service. The bread was just OK. For my appetizer I had the meatballs. They were the delicious juicy meatballs you would expect from a nonna. My girlfriend has a cheese and tomato appetizer that she liked as well. We both could not resist that meat lasagna entree. It's huge! It's enough for two meals. After the first forkful I was in love. The best lasagna I've tasted. The noodles were so light, with the perfect ratios of noodles, cheese, sauce and meat. My only small complaint is that I wanted more meat. I ended up with some meatless bites. But the bites with the meat... Wow... I was so happy I was going to have plenty to take home for the next day. For dessert I had the carrot cake. My family and I have been to Don Cheech many times, so we were looking forward to celebrating there. Unfortunately, last night was a complete shock and a very disappointing experience. We were seated quickly, but that was where the good service ended. Our drinks took approximately 20 minutes to arrive. Then we waited another hour for our appetizers. Finally, our food didn't arrive until after 10:00 PM. What made the situation even more disappointing was that this was not the Don Cheech experience we were used to. Massimo usually makes his way around the restaurant and greets the tables, but last night we only saw him around 6:45 quick scrolling thru the tablet reservation list when me and my wife were having a drink at the bar waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. We were also not the only table experiencing problems. Throughout the night, we heard numerous other customers talking about how poor the service was. It was clear that many tables were having the same issues. Before leaving, we asked if we could speak with Massimo before we left because we wanted to express our concerns directly. Instead, the manager came over and, rather than addressing our concerns professionally, was extremely disrespectful toward my parents and actually told us not to come back. We finally left close to 11:00 PM. At that point, it felt as though everyone was avoiding us and hiding rather than taking responsibility for what had happened. After being loyal customers and visiting Don Cheech many times, this experience was extremely disappointing -- especially on a night when we were there to celebrate my brother's birthday.
