Great service and gluten-free options. My partner has NCGS, dairy protein and potato allergies. They have gluten-free multi grain bread, and allowed him to substitute vegetables for fruit with his Steak and Eggs. My BAE Mac was good, both my drinks were beautifully pleasant. The staff is a vibe, kind and efficient.

We visited this location for brunch after arriving from the airport. My first impression was to leave because the restaurant dining room smelled like vomit to me. My Husband said that what I was smelling was the Buona Forchetta kitchen smells next door. We ordered: 1 Salted Caramel Latte hot, 1 PB & Elvis stuffed French Toast, 1 American Breakfast, 1 Chicken Apple Fennell Sausage side, 1 Brussells Sprouts and Potatoes side. My food was not good. The french toast was very soggy, I did not finish it. The Brussels Sprouts potatoes had cheese on them that was not melted. The Chicken Apple Sausage was still pink and seemed to not be cooked thoroughly. My Husband's American Breakfast with house potatoes was prepared well and he enjoyed it all. Our server was Abraham and he was great. He had a great demeanor and was friendly. The manager was super nice and friendly. The serving staff was great. The cooking staff did not do a good job for my taste. 4 stars for the staff minus 1 star for the food preparation and smell inside the dining room.

The location in Liberty station is charming and centrally located! Their selection of breakfast benedicts are my favorite! Crispy breakfast potatoes so good. They are well known for the Jurassic sweet salty bacon and you get three pieces as a side order. You get it on their popular Bloody Mary too! Our server was so friendly and attentive which made breakfast even better. We did not have to wait for a seat! Plenty of parking!

I can't recommend this place enough. You can't go wrong w anything on the menu-- even the drinks. Their vegan jammin bennie is something I dream about every night. Their service is great at any location (I've been to all of them, even in Los Angeles), & I recommend the downtown San Diego & PB location. **The coffee is definitely worth it!

Located in SD, this place gets busy quick! There is indoor and outdoor seating, but you'll need to get there early because there is no reservation for large parties. The staff were friendly and accommodating and answered our questions. The food serving is huge! I had the Benedict with potato's and hubby ordered the omelette with potato's and toast. The coffee was strong and there is one house coffee that you can have unlimited refills. Imagine the heart palpitations! Definitely a cool spot.

Classic Bloody Mary for the win.

Breakfast was super good, the decor is ancient ENID is the sweetest kindest most attentive server ever. Go there, you'll enjoy it.

Although this spot is cute, the food tends to be a bit underwhelming in my opinion. My favorite thing pictured here was the cold brew. I loved the frozen coffee as the ice cube. The strawberry cheesecake pancakes were disappointing. Regardless of the food, we did have great service.

TL;DR: Food: 7/10 Service: 0/10 Ambiance: 6/10 Location: 8/10 Stopped in for brunch with friends on a Thursday morning since we had the day off for the holiday. We waited a reasonable amount of time for a table for 4 on the patio, weather was nice and not too bad to be outside. First impression of the seating area is small and felt cramped. Walking space was limited and we had a small traffic jam between us, our host and the serving staff. While I'm excited to see a dog friendly patio, it does feel a bit tight for people coming in with a dog larger than 40-50lbs, I probably would not come here if I had my German shepherd with me because he'd probably be stepped on. Menus and waters came out quick and our server stopped in soon after to take our order. It took a moment for us to get our bearings to figure out what we wanted and order. From ordering to drink arrival was pretty quick, food was not far behind it all. Mimosas were great, the lychee especially balanced to not be too sweet with the lychee syrup used. Presentation was alright, felt like everything on my plate was just thrown haphazardly and barely enough hollandaise sauce for both Benedict's. The service was a sad miss for us. My husband was not happy with service regarding "bottomless lemonade". He had finished his beverage 1/4 of the way into our meal and it still took 20+ minutes and my friend having to flag down a different server to ask for a refill on his behalf, even though multiple servers walked past us. We saw our server standing by at one point then turned and walked away, even though all four of us were looking at her hoping to make eye contact to get her attention. After our food was delivered, we never saw our server Susanna again until she asked us about the bill, and even then, walked away from us before we paid. Not sure if she assumed we needed the receipt or something but it surprised us all she just left and returned with a receipt without any heads up. We have been to other brunch spots that were significantly busier and even out of the way for servers to pass though, and yet I've never felt so undervalued as a patron here. I probably will not return to this particular location.

Meet up for breakfast at Liberty Station. At first, we were going to meet at the public market, but then I remembered that Breakfast Republic was at this location. I'm not sure if the server was new but the coffees were spilling all over the cups. My friend ordered a latte and the cup handle was very sticky. I had the house coffee brought out separately but also coffee was all over the cup. The looked around to see if it was just us and it was. We split the California breakfast burrito and I liked it that the server brought a second plate without us asking for one. The burrito was decent and filling. The rice was lacking in flavor I'm asking for extra salsa helps. Other than the messy coffee experience, service was good. Overall it was good.

The food here was so flavorful. Everyone at our table got something different, and they were all yummy, especially the steak plate. The pancakes were perfect in texture and taste. The Bloody Mary was just right. The wait can be a bit long, our party of 6 waited about an hour. If you walk up, they put you on a list and text you to let you know your table is ready. You can check out Pigment across the street while you wait! The service is great, from the host to the servers and bussers. Plenty of parking options nearby and lots of things to check out while you wait.

If it wasn't for the subpar potatoes, this place would get five stars. I liked how they take your phone number and text you when the table is ready. They have plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating and it has a good vibe. I ordered the Benedict with ham and Gruyere cheese and it was excellent. The potatoes are baked and then sautéed so they're not super greasy, but they are completely plain with no seasoning and nothing else with them- no taste. The coffee was excellent, and the service was top notch. If they would just make those potatoes a little bit better!

This is a great Brunch spot for meeting up with Friends and Family. We came to eat on Saturday morning with a Party of 6 and it took about 40 minutes to get a table, but it was well worth the wait. It can get pretty busy so I recommend stopping by to add your name to the wait list and then head over to Moniker Coffee Co across the way for a Coffee while you wait to be seated. They have indoor and covered Patio seating available. Their Spicy Bloody Mary was really good and the Morning Mule wasn't bad either. They also have Mimosa's with fresh squeezed OJ and other Juices available, and their Prosecco was also highly recommended. I personally recommend their French Toast "Rooster Flight", Chilaquiles, The "Hot Chick" Benedict, and BR Sammie. We also ordered their California Breakfast Burrito, but it was just ok, considering there are better places to get a California Burrito nearby. This is another great local Breakfast spot especially when you're near Liberty Station. It's definitely a must try, we will be back to try more of their Menu and drinks, and I'm sure we will be impressed again like we were on Saturday.

    Breakfast Jambalaya
    Jennifer K.

I came here for brunch and they do not take reservations so you can expect a wait time of over 60-90 minutes. I ordered the jambalaya and it was very oily and difficult to eat the whole thing. I would return but try something different on the menu that is a little lighter. The strawberry lemonade is bottomless, which is great but it is extremely sweet and you may have to water it down.

    Do they have high chairs?

Yes, we have plenty of high chairs for our smallest of guests! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

On old almost 15 minutes , are they even open today ? I've been trying to order online for pick -up but all locations say closed. Can't seem to find a any info. online or through their phone message with regards to being closed today . Odd.

It's Father's Day. They aren't picking up because they are too busy.

Is the vegan jammin Bennie good?

YES! I've had it several times :)

Is this place dog friendly? And are there gluten free options?(wheat allergy)

Yes for dog friendly and I'm not too sure about gluten free. The do serve vegan dishes so I'm sure they support that dietary need as well!!

    Do they take reservations?

Unfortunately, they do not. First come, first serve. My advice is, get there early to avoid the 90 min wait

The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. The place was still pretty quiet when we arrived, and to our surprise it was happy hour, so naturally we ordered a bunch of items off the menu along with drinks. Everything was ridiculously good. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.
