Just reiterating that this is the best bread shop / bakery. Tonite it was sourdough and hamburger buns. I wish they did more with cinnamon and raisins. It's tough to find the days they have cinnamon and raisin recipes. But we love all their products. They are a standard stop for us.

Breadsmith is a quaint little bakery tucked in next to a Starbucks and a Lunds & Byerlys off of France Ave. my brother & I stopped in at about 7:30 on a Friday (they close at 8) and the staff was attentive right when we walked in the room. Both of us were offered a sample of their banana bread (very good) and their pumpkin spice scone (also very good). Even though they were close to closing, they still had many options available to us that we could purchase. As my brother was making his decision I looked around the space and they also had croutons out as a free sample, and I grabbed one of those to take home. My brother decided on a sour dough loaf that cost him around $5.50. They will also slice the bread for you which is neat. I asked if $5.50 was a fair price and my brother said so. The place seemed very nice, had that classic "bakery/bready" smell to it and seems like a nice option if you're looking for something a little higher quality. The samples help too!

Staff is superb, professional and friendly. Always offering a taste of freshly made batch. And yup, it works. Always buy more than my plan. The variety is amazing sweet and savory bread cookies and more. Yes, higher price than run of the mill bread but this is artisan very much natural ingredients and flavors that are unique. So of course it is worth it. Parking is easy for the plaza and location is a great one in the 50th street neighborhood. I get a piece of bread every chance I get. So many flavors and types and many seasonal ones. Love this place!

I decided to splurge because today is a BIG day at work. Huge disappointment. For $1 I bought a single mini muffin(currently dieting low carb). After removing the paper, this is exactly how much muffin I got to enjoy. I was super excited to be BAD. Breadsmith should know how to make muffins so that half the batter doesn't stick to the liner. $1 for one bite is robbery unless it's the most unbelievable bite ever, which it definitely was not. One star for employees who were super nice!

Very tasty raisin challah! My grandson prefers the plain with egg wash. I'm told that it would make excellent French toast some Saturday.

They use disgusting and harmful canola oil sporadically throughout their product line...potential cross contamination.

The only bakery I found in town that's decent. However their breads are hard and dense. It's overrated.

They have the best muffins! Great location next to Starbuck's so I can grab a muffin to have with my cocoa.

They change up their scones and a loaf or two of bread seasonally to keep things interesting.

The pastries here are really good! You have to try a little bit of everything, it's hard to not go crazy here and grab everything. The taro flavored pastries are my favorite. Just grab a tray on your way in and pick up whatever pastries look tasty to you with the tongs provided. You also have to try out their drinks here. They are really good! I would recommend the matcha. They are usually really busy so they aren't too friendly but they keep things moving. They do take the time to wrap up your pastries for you. I usually just grab my stuff to go since seating is limited when it's busy. It's a great spot to stop in for a sweet treat or quick snack throughout the day.

The selection is large, and they are contantly replenishing the shelves with fresh-baked goods. A lot of those are on the pricey side, which might contribute to a bougie reputation for this chain. But the items on the drink menu are much more reasonable. I had a matcha lemonade that was just okay; I don't think I'd order it again because you can't really mix it the way they serve it to you. But they have a whole bunch of interesting coffee and tea options. I also had a hot item that was pretty good. They have a heater that looks like something from a convenience store, and there are hot offerings in there like the flatbread-esque thing I had. It did actually taste quite good, but I think if they are serious about hot items they could manage a better presentation. There are compelling selections in that little box. The pastries I bought were absolutely delicious. Again kind of pricey, but the quality is immediately noticeable and I will 100% be back for some of those things. And I'll probably try some coffees & teas in the future.

It looked like it may be hard to grab a seat, but there was plenty of turn over and we got a seat right away. The atmosphere was relaxing and filled with positive energy - people catching up, on a first date, or even reading. I am excited to come back to try more pastries variations & grab a coffee.

Passing by the window I thought it was a long shot and almost passed right by. I doubled back when I saw the chalkboard said open seating at the bar. We lucked out and got a high top for two right away. Guess what. They even have wings. Duck wings- something I didn't even know I wanted. Their small plates were perfect and we loved everything. The duck wings were a delicious mix of savory and sweet - dark moist meat like a turkey leg but sauced with a sweet orange glaze. The shrimp cocktail had the biggest shrimp I've seen in my life. The Brandade Fritters had a nice crispy texture and spicy sauce to take them the extra mile. The Trotter Croquette was also just so interesting - almost like a crab cake texture but so meaty and savory. We just couldn't stop so we had the chocolate mousse cake as well. It was to die for. It reminded me of my favorite Sebastian's Joe's ice cream - raspberry chocolate chip since it was paired with a raspberry sherbet. The Mousse was on this like crumbly stuff I that told my husband reminded me of that layer in à DQ cake (in the best way). Just all around perfect texture and flavor combos. I also really appreciated their NA cocktails. Most places do not do them well but I am happy to say that their Tonic 11 was very good. I can't wait to come back and try the other ones. Service and the ambiance were also very nice. They were so welcoming even though we just wandered in off the street at prime time on Valentine's Day. The interior is beautiful with high ceilings, romantic lightning and even intricately tiled bathrooms. They really paid attention to every detail and it shows.
