Group of six girls having lunch yesterday amid a rain storm and couldn't have been a better experience! I can't express how impeccable the service was that David our waiter provided. He was incredibly prompt when it came to ordering, refilling beverages, asking how we enjoyed our food, clearing plates, etc. He was beyond kind and respectful. I haven't had service like that in years!!! So Thank You David! Two of us got the sliders and both said they were the best we ever had. Amazing flavor and perfectly done. Another had the special lobster Mac & Cheese and loved it. Couldn't recommend this spot enough ! read more

I'm going go keep this short and sweet. This place is amazing, and the baked goods are worth every single calorie. My husband and I were only in town for a day and we are here twice and brought goodies home! The service is awesome and the food tastes as good as it looks. read more

Please go here! On our girls trip we found this place and everything about it was wonderful. David, our server, was amazing. He was very attentive and provided a fun atmosphere for us. I had the shrimp tacos, which were delicious, but everyone in our group raved about how delicious their meals were as well. Definitely go check it out! read more

Really cute place with delicious food options. One of the stops during Galena trip with mi amor. A little on the pricier side but I guess it's all about location. From food, drinks, and desserts, there's definitely something for everyone. Also, I forgot my credit card there and realized about an hour later. Went back and they had it saved by the register. read more

Food- 5 stars! Service- 4.5 stars! Seating- ZERO Chairs are uncomfortable. Tables are so close together that another table has to stand up and move in order for the waiter to bring food. Such bad design taking down such good food! We had a pastry and coffee, tacos, and pork bun. The pork bun was non-traditional enough as to not be a pork bun, but is was so tasty! The tacos were delicious. Easily the best tacos in the historic downtown. I would try anything here. The food is incredible. But good luck getting a table. read more

Only tried the desserts. Plan to come back for the amazing menu of food. I had the chocolate mousse so delicate, smooth, and perfect. Also an assortment of macaroons just the right crisp outer shell, soft inside and delicious filling. read more

European cuisine, flavors and textures of BVB compliments the Galena area style. Our party of 20 was treated like family. Our wait staff knew our names and attended to details that made our delicious dinner party even more enjoyable. Thank you Eric, Laura and Pinky! The Salmon Quinoa is my favorite so far paired with their French Chardonnay followed by the special of the day- pistachio cheesecake. Thank you Monique and Eric Bonnetain, We'll be back! read more

Terrible food, service fine, atmosphere is corny and stupid..........................................................................mmnnmnnnnnnnnnnnn. . read more

This place looked cute and the food looked decent, however the prices for a small town in the Midwest were INSANE. I ordered a medium almond milk latte with 2 shots of espresso and the price rivaled NYC and surpassed London! If the taste was even close to either city's coffee quality I wouldn't be writing this review, however since the flavor of the coffee was so weak and worthy of the trash can, I had to make my experience known. It's infuriating I felt compelled to keep drinking because I paid $7 for one of the worst coffees I've ever tasted. read more

Great service, setting, and food. I enjoyed my time in the bright open space while reading and taking in a charcuterie board and wine. The seating area was a bit crowded with tables/chairs but not a problem. read more

we walked into Bread And Vine bakery on thinking it was a different establishment. BIG MISTAKE! the prices were astronomical but felt like we should try it since we are here. NOTHING SPECIAL $8.50 snd $6.50 for a couple typical bakery items. save your money for a better value elsewhere. read more

3 day trip in Galena and we visited Bread & Vine all three days! Everything we ate was delicious. The French Hotdog was recommended to us by an owner from one of the local shops; I never would've ordered it if it wasn't recommended and OMG it is delicious - more than enough to share! Also not pictured, we had the breakfast omelette croissant and macaroons that were also very good. The staff is very friendly. Will definitely come back here next time I visit Galena. read more

Holy crap, great place. Veggie sandwich, smoked salmon, macaroons, and best apple turnover I've ever had. Pink panther cocktail. Great service. Highly recommend. read more

You want something amazing!? This is the place to go. Tempting to just only eat here when in town!!! The pastries are made daily - beautiful and delicious! The small plates are really the bomb!! There were three of us so we tried 3 different things (3 of each thing was the perfect setup). ... wow- the tacos were the best! Chicken with mango salsa. Flavor-spice-citrus- perfect balance of amazing. The bao- lovely porkbelly with slaw on a soft bao bun - who can pass that up?! And the mini burger hit the spot- perfectly cooked with onions and bakery bun. Yum!!!! Don't pass this one by! Get in there! read more

We sopped by to take out. We ordered Parma mozzarella sandwich $13.50, Chocolate flourless cake $6.50, Lobster bisque soup $8.50. We thought the food was amazing. I would like to go back and try different pastries. Food: Awesome Service: Good Price: High Ambience: Good read more

What a delightful find!! This bakery/bar/lunch spot does not disappoint. I especially recommend the traditional French flatbread with carmalized onions, bacon, and balsamic vinegar. So yummy! The cases of food reminded me of being in Paris. This is a must stop in Galena. read more

I spotted some beautiful desserts in the window and decided to go inside with a few friends. We were warmly greeted by Pinky, who invited us to have a seat. I was mostly thinking about grabbing a quick dessert...I didn't realize they had a food menu and full bar. The menu was limited, but had great options. We opted for 2 lbs of mussels and some sliders. Simply amazing! We rounded out our experience with a pistachio cheesecake and a lemon meringue tart. That cheesecake, with it's too-good-to-be-true dreamy texture and soft, yet distinct pistachio flavor, was too good to share with others. I picked up some macarons to go. If you're in Galena and looking for a real gem, look no further than Bread & Vine! read more

Bad customer service. We came on a busy day and the employees were not prepared for the volume. Not professional

Three stars for those behind the counter and quality of the food. Taking away 1-2 stars for the complete cluster---k at the front end of the place. You open the door and you have a table of people right there. Who thought that placement through? You also have people right by the door when they are paying. Another chaotic moment of opening the door into a crowd of people. Solution: move the register to the middle to help space out your crowd. I could see people consistently annoyed with your setup. Flow all wrong here and it's a shame. read more

Absolutely nothing but good things to say about this place. My husband and I went here 4 times within 2 days while visiting Galena! The cutest place for a morning cup of joe, with the most gorgeous and delicious pastries. That also turns up at night with great espresso martinis and music. The focaccia on the veggie sandwich is to DIE for. Love the story of the husband & wife owners behind this establishment. I will say it can get crowded as they are a small place that many enjoy. read more

Amazing food, pastries and service! Very friendly and welcoming place. The Cesar salad had a perfect Cesar taste, the lettuce was fresh, chicken was delicious and the fries had a perfect crisp. It was just good fries. We also had the plain croissant and again the most perfect croissant. Crispy outside and soft inside. Would definitely be back! read more

Macarons are delicious! A little pricey but worth it. We always stop here and pick some up when in Galena.

Did not Disappoint!! Went back 3 times in one day!! Lol ...Had the croissant with strawberry and blueberry with cream cheese. Also almond paste croissant. Taste is heavenly!!! Also offer charcuterie and wine on top of breakfast sandwich and coffee!! I will drive the distance to partake again soon!!! The only thing I wish my cappuccino was less foamy and more coffee. I realize there is a lot of foam in cappuccinos. Just a bit too much for my liking. Was still awesome with the oat milk. So DELICIOUS!!!! read more

If i could give this place more stars, i would. If you are in the Galena area, you must come here. The food is phenomenal. Service, phenomenal. They hand make their pastries every morning so everything is fresh. I will be thinking about this meal every day until I come back to Galena. read more

I came 4 or 5 times during my stay ... ha! It's that good. The attention to detail and the quality that Eric, the owner, puts into it is inspiring! First, let's start with the staff, kind, attentive AND conscientious. You can walk up and order or you can sit down and be treated. Over several trips we enjoyed charcuterie, the cheese board, chicken ceasar salad, crispy pork belly tacos, smoked salmon and cream cheese with sliced hard boiled egg on a croissant, and my favorite.....cold watermelon salad with honey, mint, and goat cheese!!!!! To die for! Give this place a try....its not just delicious pastries.....the food, the drink AND the service .... perfection. read more

My husband and I just randomly stopped in here because we were walking by. We instantly saw that they had sandwiches just like how they had in Paris. They also had amazing looking desserts. Even though we already had lunch, my husband got a sandwich and I ordered 2 croissants to go. Ever since I had gone to Paris and eaten their croissants, I had been ruined and haven't found anything like it since until today. OMG - the croissant is divine. It was so delicious I probably could eat a dozen in one sitting. I'm kicking myself for only buying 2 If I am ever back in galena, I will be back here for sure read more

Loved the layout of this place and the options for food and dessert! My drink was amazing and I enjoyed the cheese board- just didn't have a ton of variety of flavors. Strong beginning for this new spot in Galena. Everything from small plates to pastries to espresso to wine, spirits and desserts were delicious and beautifully presented, and the outdoor seating on a perfect spring evening made us feel like we were dining at a small bistro in Provence. Looking forward to trying many more offerings, best wishes! So glad you are here! read more

First trip to Galena. Wandered through a few stores on Main Street, worked up an appetite and popped into Bread & Vine right before the lunch rush. Shared the charcuterie board and the goat cheese & pear salad. Plenty of food for the two of us. Nice variety on the meat board and a nicely constructed salad with just the right amount of dressing (I hate drenched salads!). We're not big sweets eaters, so we didn't sample any of the macarons or pastries, but lots of folks seemed to be enjoying them! read more

Fantastic spot in Galena. The macaron photo dipped in chocolate sauce was what brought me there - turns out they don't actually sell that (odd to put it in the photos) so the staff did it for me as a surprise when I was bummed to find out they didn't actually serve it. It was mind blowing- their chocolate sauce and the macaron. Everything we had was fantastic. Super great place for lunch read more
