    Salted Caramel Martini
    Todd B.

We stopped here during our visit based on our neighbor's recommendation and really enjoyed the stop. The drinks were the best we had during our stay (see pictures) - I had the Salted Caramel Martini and my wife had the Bloody Mary. The drinks, presentation and delivery were all top notch. The atmosphere was also great, but was a bit cluttered, with boxes of wine and other items littering the floor. The prices were some of the highest that we experienced during our stay...but again the quality and taste was great! You won't regret stopping here for a wine or cocktail. Jamie is the perfect host as well as a great conversationalist. We spend most of our time in Galena with her and love to get to know other patrons. This place is the best as well as great service.

Ted sweetly sitting in his chosen spot.

SO HAPPY TO RETURN! My husband and I returned to Galena for Halloween weekend after 5 years and one of our first stops was Jamie's. We love Jamie and her helpful staff and always enjoy trying new wines here. The atmosphere is lively - with a mixed clientele of regulars and newcomers. Over the two days we visited, we tried several wines previously unfamiliar to us and left with some treasures to take home. They won't last long! On Friday afternoon we enjoyed glasses of Syltbar Prosecco (excellent), Silverado Chablis, Quilt Cabernet and a Salted Caramel Martini. These, along with good conversations and some tips and recommendations from Jamie made the day special. We were fortunate to sit next to Jamie's well-mannered resident pup Ted in the back bar area for a time. Although he did not join the repartee, he seemed to like our company. We came by again on Saturday - just before noon so we'd have enough time to spend a couple of hours but leave before parade towing began. I had to have another Salted Caramel Martini! I am now ruined for any other after dinner drink! I switched to the fabulous Syltbar Prosecco again and my husband stayed with the Chablis. We left hoping to return again on Sunday but opted to head home early and get ready for Halloween the next day. We love this place!

Families and people with kids BEWARE! From the moment we walked in , to the moment we left, we felt berated. Normally when you have a group walk into your store, you recommend wines and be casual and fun with your new clients. This is not what happened. We were welcome to a finger pointing at expensive costs to cheaper wines. The notes $25 corking fee, was what did me in. The moscato wasn't bad, but the owners comments were ridiculous to the layperson. She was more interested in speaking to her regulars then new clientele. The last straw was when the owner made mentioned that "This was the reason she was never married or never had kids".. If your looking for a nice wine tasting or glass of wine don't go here... go to Galena Cellars instead. Needless to say the young lady at the front of the store was pleasant. That's the only reason I gave this place 1 Star.

Best dang bloody mary's in the midwest! Really hit home. Service was ok. But the drinks were great.

    Best place ever!

Seriously expensive. Paying $25 for a glass of Quilt Cabernet. Retail is $37 a bottle. Can't recommend this place.

The folks here are incredibly helpful and super knowledgeable about their products and similar spirits out there. There is no food, but I think there might be some snacks. The drinks are quite excellent. Check out their menu, but if you want something more standard, they can make that as well. The quality is very good, though the prices are slightly on the higher side especially for being in a pretty rural area. The distillery is beautiful, with super comfy plush chairs, games, TVs and everything you could want while you sip your tasty cocktail. They also have a nice gift shop for you to check out. But this time, we took home some of their Bourbon Apple Pie cocktail-to-go options for ourselves and friends. And... the BYOB - check the photo. We grabbed a couple of the premium bottles, and it was definitely a cool experience. We had a guide the entire time assisting with the labeling, where you put them, how to line them up, and how it's poured from the barrels. This was something I've never done before, and I appreciated the guidance and the fun time I had going through the process of a bottling experience. We need to make it back - this stuff is liquid gold, and it tastes even better than it reads. So dark on the pour... you know it has spent its time in the barrel getting all that flavor. I tasted it with friends and family, and it is beyond what I expected for the complex flavor profile and how it hits you at different times. Without water, with water, different amounts. It has been so fun unlocking the different tastes this bottle has to offer. We have all enjoyed every sip - I'm so glad we were around for this release!

So, we called around 10:30 and no one picked up. And when we left a voice-mail, they called us back saying that they called last night, which they didn't. That they told us the itinerary, which they didn't. The tour was supposed to start at 11, but they started at 10 and they had already started without us. On the website it says it starts at 11 on Sundays. Did I miss something? I am extremely disappointed. I really wish that they actually called us ahead of time and left a voicemail and informed us that it was canceled or that they decided to take another group, so that we had alternative plans for this weekend. We are disappointed that we missed out on other potential outings due to the lack of communication. We were really looking forward to the tour honestly. Instead, we feel like they are gaslighting us to believe that we are in the wrong by saying we never picked up and that we would've gone on the tour had we answered. Trust me, we would've picked up had we received a call. If we received an apology for the lack of communication, I would gladly rescind this review. It's a shame how they choose to approach their customers. I'm sure it would've been very fun to go, but based on my experience, I can't recommend.

Hello! Let me tell you the story of how our mother-daughter haunted tour date almost got ruined…read more My grandma bought my mom, my aunt, and me tickets for Amelia's Galena Ghost Tours at 6 p.m. There was nothing anywhere saying we needed to arrive early. We got there right at 6, parking directly behind the DeSoto house where the website said we would be meeting -- but there was no bus in sight. We started running around trying to find it, even went to their store, only to find the door locked and no one around. About 20 minutes later, my mom called to explain that we had arrived on time but no one was there. The lady on the phone said they had waited 20 minutes for us, looked for us, and then left. But if she had really been waiting, we would have seen her -- and definitely would have seen the bus! When my mom asked if we could move to the 7 p.m. tour instead, the lady said no because she "can't just give up the empty seats," and she wasn't very kind about it either. Eventually, she texted us later saying we could join the 7:30 p.m. tour for free. We decided to wait at a nearby restaurant and have a drink before the tour. We left around 7:12 to find the bus, got on, and they departed at 7:20. (10 minutes early) Our tour guide, Emily, was great -- she was super sweet and friendly. The driver (maybe the boss?) didn't seem as welcoming; she never spoke to us once and only talked during the investigation at the haunted house they own.

If I had been more proactive, I would have avoided spending time and money on this tour. My family of 6 was over $200... definitely not worth the money. After the tour, I sat down to write/read the reviews. Each negative review repeatedly said the same thing, so I decided not to repeat what has already been said. Apparently, these negative reviews have not made any difference because nothing has changed. I guess I just don't understand how a company can be satisfied knowing so many customers are dissatisfied.
