Disappointing!! Website shows groomed grounds, elegant building structure, along side of excellent winery experience. While the building defiantly is of excellent quality, the rest is a disappointing adventure at best. Nothing invites you wanting to stay, enjoy company and sip some wine. Grounds are groomed bare minimum and there are no inviting accents (e.g. flowers or ornaments) offering any appeal. Camping grade watercolors for water dispenser, simple diner style silver wear and plastic dishes. A salad that does not deserve its name. Minimal staff. I had a glas of Eclipse which tasted delightful, similar to grocery store wine at this price. Do yourself a favor and skip this one for now! There are much better wineries available in Iowa. It appears ownership is trying to safe everywhere! Noteworthy: It's 3/4 mile gravel to the property. To no fault of their own, the gnats & bees were out swarming outside, so seating outside diverted us inside. But when we moved to inside we got to enjoy a larger bundle of unruly kids in a small room. read more

The pizza and wine were great. There was quite a long wait for pizza on Mother's Day. I don't think they were prepared for the amount of people that wanted to enjoy their winery and scheduled music. Wow ! Park Farm Winery is a GAME CHANGER! We semi-frequently do weekend trips to Galena, IL from Chicago. In our last two visits, we've hopped over to Dubuque and stumbled upon Park Farm Winery and cannot wait to go back. First and foremost, the wine is top notch. We weren't expecting to get any bottles of wine when we visited because we didn't have any preconceived notions. However, we struggled to narrow the bottles we bought down to two because there were so many great choices: both red and white! Second, the pizza and food are HEAVEN! When I first saw the focaccia bread, I was worried it might be a bit bland...but man was I wrong. The flavors and seasoning were featured perfectly, while still being subtle. We had no leftovers. And the pizza. Locally sourced ingredients. The perfect ingredient, sauce, and cheese ratio. And, best of all, it was perfectly wood fired and mouth watering! Thé staff was absolutely wonderful! Super helpful, friendly, welcoming, while not being overwhelming! It was a perfectly delightful experience! Finally, the buildings and ground were idyllic and beautiful with plenty of room to roam! Perfect afternoon! While visiting my fiance's family in Illinois, we made the 2 hour trip to visit the winery and have pizza. All the wine flavors were delicious and very true to the description. Tasting was 5 for $5, which is always nice. The women doing the pouring were all very personable and knowledgeable of the different wines. The pizza was on point. They offer a gluten free crust option as well as an assortment of toppings upon either a white or red sauce. The pizza is fired and served to wherever you're seated. Delicious! We decided to sit on the hill and listen to the musician playing. Aaron Smith. The sound level and talent couldnt have been more enjoyable. After finishing our pizza and wine we walked over the deck that opened up to a breathtaking view. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town. read more

I'm not a huge wine guy, but this place is great. A bit of a drive to get to, but totally worth it. We came here on a Fall day and the view is quite spectacular to say the least. Pics and words don't do it justice. As for the place itself it's very nice on the inside with a great warm feeling to it. They have a couple of dogs wondering around very nice and friendly. We did a tasting which we each got 5 choices, I enjoyed mine throughly, I go for more fruity wines, and they had plenty of lighter options here for me. The girl helping us the tasting was very knowledgeable and nice. After the tasting we ordered a pizza, it's wood fired and tasty. We sat under a covered area on their patio/deck outside and enjoyed the pizza, it was starting to rain. They do also have a few beers here too. This place was fabulous. Great wine made right on sight with local grapes and the wood fire pizza is delish! Owners and all workers are so friendly. They even let my husband go back to see the wood brick oven. The Mississippi River Red win was my favorite. Full bodied but oh so smooth. If you like dogs, you will love Charlie, Daisy, and Oliver. So sweet and friendly. While it is a small drive out that ends on a dirt road, it is well worth it. The scenery along the way is beautiful. Once there, the vineyards and Tuscany style winery nestled in the rolling hills us breath taking. read more

Great place for lunch or dinner with an amazing view. Only $5 to sample 5 wines, which I would advise you split the samples with another person as the sample pours are generous. Great wine no matter your wine preference. Ordered the flatbread with basil oil which was delicious, and ordered a Margherita style pizza which had an amazing crust and was cooked perfectly. Only complaint was a ton of bugs, so be wary to bring plenty of bug spray if planning to sit outside! read more

I stumbled upon this place while trout fishing. It takes some driving to find it but the path is clearly marked... When they say "7 miles" they are not kidding. I was surprised by the beautiful building and gorgeous interior. The view of the countryside is fantastic. The friendly staff let me try a couple of white wines (which they recommended with smoked chicken and fresh trout). I liked the "Picket Fence" semisweet white wine. It was crisp and clean... a lovely beverage! This is a cool, upscale place to sip a glass of wine, mingle with friends, or attend a special event. It's a class act in every way. You don't have to a wine expert, either. :) From now on I have another stop when traveling up Highway 52. Bankston is going to be a favorite stop for wine, camping, and fishing next summer. read more

My wife and I were visiting her relatives in Dubuque and we went there to listen to the live music that plays every Sunday night. It seems that her relatives and their go there religiously (no pun intended) as a social get together every week. They band was the standard local 70's and 80's cover band occasionally playing the obligatory C/W song. The wine was actually very good (they make wine in Iowa?), and the views of the surrounding farmland (and occasional lightning strike) were great. Well worth the trip if you happen to be in Dubuque on a Sunday night. read more

One the best wineries in the state. Built on top of a hill, the french chalet style winery has a beautiful view of the rolling countryside. There is a year round tasting room and store on the right of the entrance and a large gathering room to the left with a small kitchen area and bar. There is a smaller tasting room on the upper floor with a spectacular view. There is a huge wrap-around deck were they have outdoor music on Sunday evenings during the season. Their wines are very good, my favorites are St. Croix (dry red) and Mississippi Red (off dry). The drive here is half the fun running through picturesque little burgs and rolling farm land. The winery is surrounded by a several acres of well-kept vineyards - you can imagine yourself in rural France. About a 90 minute drive from Cedar Rapids and worth every minute. read more

Just twenty minutes west of Dubuque, the Park Farm Winery feels like it's located in another county (or country). Perched on top of a hill overlooking some rolling fields, Park Farm is quaint and picturesque (two words I vowed I would never use in my reviews!). Although I am by no means a wine connoisseur, I was impressed by their selection of reds and whites. Unlike the Amana Colonies, Park Farm makes more than dessert wines. My favorite: Sunday Afternoon, a 2004 semi-dry white made with LaCrosse grapes from their vineyard. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I just love this winery. The scenery is absolutely stunning both on the drive and at the vineyard. It's a great place to get away and relax on any evening. Sundays Toast & Jam events are the best time to come. The prices are very reasonable with a selection of wine, beer, and other items. The Cheeky Blush and Mississippi Red are my favorites, but all of their wines are good. I love their wood-fire grill pizzas too. The winery gets busy so don't come for pizza if you're in a hurry, but why would you be? The great thing is that you can bring the family and a coller full of your own snacks. read more

NWe had a very disappointing experience today, July 3, 2017. Park Farm's web page stated that the kitchen would be open from noon until 6:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday. We drove 40 miles to Park Farm and arrived at 3:02, thinking we had plenty of time to order a pizza. They informed us that they closed early to prepare for the Fourth of July. One would think that it wouldn't have hurt them to prepare a pizza after we had driven so far and were only two minutes after their closing time. The tasting room was still open. My fiancé and I had a very bad experience with Park Farm. I've been going to Park Farm since it opened so decided to check it out as a possible wedding venue. We received a wedding contract from the event coordinator, reviewed it carefully, made the decision to hold our wedding and reception at Park Farm and started planning. Over the next two months, we made two rental payments and requested to set up a time to meet with her to ask questions. Although she seemed too busy to even sit down with us for a few minutes for questions, during that meeting she provided information regarding an additional "flat fee payment" that was not listed in the contract that she gave us two months earlier. I'm not sure how we would have even noticed the issue if I hadn't asked about payments. She admitted that the "additional flat fee was not listed in the contract". They had "recently been revised and that is one thing that was missing." We are having a smaller wedding and the flat fee was five times the rental amount listed in the contract she provided us and not within our plan. We were also concerned that if she messed this up so badly, there would be more issues holding our wedding at Park Farm. The coordinator did not even seem to care that we chose to cancel or all of the frustration she caused us. In the meantime, other event places that were on our list had booked up. In addition, it took five weeks for us to receive our payments back. The "coordinator" also mailed one of the payments to my fiancé's work address instead of home. What a complete mess. read more
