Vegan burrito - delicious
Debbie C.

Vegan brunch paradise! There are not a lot of places that offer a good vegan brunch but this place does it! They seated our group of 10 very quickly and the service was great. Our table ordered: Vegan omelette with tempeh - delish! Vegan omelette with crumbled "meat" - my favorite Hashed browns - perfectly crispy Vegan breakfast burrito - looked good, my friend enjoyed it Vegan meatball sub - my husband liked it Vegan egg sandwich - looked good, but was more bread than egg Vegan chicken salad - it's more of a grilled chicken salad

Nice place to enjoy sandwiches and cafe food outside if it's nice weather. Food is delish.

Strawberry crepes

But no means was the service stellar, but we found the food delicious. My husband had the strawberry crepes which were good. had a salmon egg Benedict and vanille mocha. The Benedict came with a salad instead of the hash browns mentioned on the menu. Unfortunately, the salad seemed old and wasn't crisp. Nonetheless, everything else was great.

Came here with my mom-- great because we found parking in back and came through the back door. Always bustling atmosphere and great for chai lattes :) Our waitress was very kind and service was wonderful. I had a lamb gyro yummm. It comes with chips or a salad. It's quite filling. My mom and I split a cheese danish because a treat is always nice. Quite good! The desserts are soo tempting up front... one day I shall get a cake!!! :)

Americano with milk

Stumbled upon this little cafe. Was super tempted by the pastries but decided to sit down and got the bircher muesli. Never had it before so I didn't really know what to expect but the dish is served cold which I was kinda happy about. Reminded me a little of a parfait. Tons and tons of fruit including grapes, strawberries, green apple, cantaloupe and a little bit of orange. I ordered an Americano and asked for milk on the side. Americano is a good size and pretty strong. Used up all the milk ha! Anyway, plenty of seats inside and a cute patio out front. I'd give it a try :)

Got the spinach and mushroom quiche with hot tea and a bakery treat. The quiche was extremely cheesy with a flaky crust. Definitely going to order again. The side salad wasn't needed but appreciated. The bakery treat was a tiramisu layered dessert 10/10 can't wait to try again

Chocolate croissant

Stopped for coffee and croissant. Cute outdoor seating area with table service if you want to dine in. Service was quick. Out iced coffee was really good came in cute mason jars. The croissant was just ok, I was excited since it is a pastry shop but definitely a good little coffee shop if you are in the area.

Came here because I had passed it so many times and wanted to try a new latte! The interior is huge! We decided to sit outside on their sidewalk patio that is covered because we had our dog with us. I was surprised it was a formal sit down restaurant. I had assumed it was a order-at-the-counter place. The service was super friendly. The latte was delicious!!! Exactly how I like them. Not too sweet w strong coffee flavor. The quiche was also very very good! The salad was meh. Basically just spring mix w a little bit of dressing. I do think this place is a bit overpriced, but that probably is necessary for the location and huge size of the inside. I would come back for the latte and maybe a quiche!

Solid coffee, pastry and brunch cafe. Nice variety of menu items, breakfast, salads, sandwiches and of course the pastry counter. It was difficult for me to tell what was actually made fresh in house (like if the kitchen was also a bakery), even the pastries up front in the counter. We tried the Meusli, quiche lorraine, tuna sandwich, and hot chocolate. All were pretty average, good but didn't blow me away. The quiche and sandwich came with side salads which was nice, I asked about the dressings and unfortunately all were bottled. Still good though. What was really good was the hot chocolate, the bread on the sandwich, and the fruit on the meusli. Everyone was really friendly, the atmosphere was nice (there is a nice outdoor patio) and family friendly, and the prices were decent (about $50 for three lunches and non-al drinks before tip).

She immediately greeted me as soon as I walked in and then went over all their options with me. They do open face sandwiches but she said any can be made into a regular sandwich. She gave me recommendations as well. I decided to go with the chicken open face sandwich but as a regular sandwich and the sea salt caramel latte to go. The latte was really good and was not weak. I ate the sandwich when I got home and it was also very good. The chicken and sumac onions were delicious! The place has plenty seating if you want to just work and drink coffee or order full meals with friends. There is also a good size patio in the front. It's definitely a nice addition to the area.

We each got the espresso with whipped cream. Heads up, for a coffee focused place the cream was definitely out of a can. But the coffee itself was amazing. For food we got a pistachio beignet, and a chocolate and pistachio croissant. The beignet is definitely not a beignet- it was a bit more bread like, though it still tasted good. And the pistachio cream, though delicious, was so runny. The croissant was good but also had the same pistachio cream issue. It dripped out. For food I had the bacon flaming tart, which tasted amazing! One thing to note- the menu says capers, but it's scallions. That was a welcomed error, since I love scallions! We also got drinks, and I enjoyed my pistachio beverage. Overall, I'd say out of the options nearest the zoo, this is one of the best.

Lovely wine bar in Cleveland Park!…read more We dined in on a Friday night with a party of six. They had seated us in the front window, but the sun was really shining so they were very accommodating, and helped to move our table into a shadier spot. We started with a round of cocktails and appetizers. My husband enjoyed the apricot Manhattan and I tried the Key West daiquiri. The lavender and pea cocktail was also very refreshing. The hummus platter featured four different hummus's. The harissa was our favorite. The Burratta salad and tart flambe was nice to share. We proceeded with ordering three bottles of wine and a few entrees. The petite fillet was delicious. The spring gnocchi was flavorful and the chicken Milanese was a nice portion. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a slice of Dulce de Leche cheesecake with a candle! Service was very nice. Clean bathrooms and short walk to Cleveland Park Metro.

Little Blackbird is phenomenal!…read more I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great service from super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff. A large wine list that they know back to front and can recommend wines from based on your food choices and personal tastes. An elegant but not ostentatious interior. But first and foremost, incredible food. There have been a few items I was unsure of when reading the descriptions, but I have always been blown away by the thoughtfulness and balance that comes with each or their dishes. Of note, their seared scallops that came with a savory and sweet white chocolate sauce were one of my favorite dishes of 2025. Not to mention, the prices here are reasonable and not unnecessarily inflated like other places that market themselves as wine bars. I hope the success here signals a shift in the wine bar model toward unpretentious but thoughtfully designed dishes for a reasonable price. Overall, Little Blackbird is an incredible restaurant that I think deserves more recognition. I will certainly be back soon.

They do a good job, and the portion makes it a meal when you add protein like chicken or salmon. Our food arrived at about the same time. I took a bite: the inside of the burger was barely cooked at all. I got the waiter and he said he'd ask the kitchen to redo the burger. Unfortunately, he took the fries and everything else, so I was left to watch as my wife and son ate their dinners. 10 minutes. 15 minutes. At the 20 minute mark, when my wife and son had just about finished their meals, I told the waiter to cancel the dinner. The manager came and said "your burger is almost done now." I said I wanted to cancel it because I my plan was to eat my dinner at the same time as the rest of my party. The manager walked away. No "sorry", nothing. After about another 10 minutes got the check. They didn't charge me for the burger, but they also didn't discount anything else -- although one of the three members of our party had their order screwed up. No sorry, no acknowledgment at all that they screwed up. Note also that the restaurant was less than 50% full. Cooking a burger to medium shouldn't have been too much, I think, especially when you're charging prices nearly the same as Le Diplomate (which always provides a perfect experience). Why bother going back?

Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, and delicious food -- definitely a spot worth putting on your brunch list. My date made the reservation for us, which turned out to be a very good idea because the restaurant was hopping! Definitely recommend making one ahead of time. We were both in the mood for a cocktail, but decided to explore the mocktail drink menu. He initially considered going with another coffee since it was still early, but ultimately went with an espresso martini. I tried the French 86, and both were great choices. The espresso martini was smooth and well made, while the French 86 was beautifully fruit-forward. And I have to give my date credit -- a man who isn't afraid to try my fruity cocktail! For food, we decided to share the avocado toast to start and added an egg, asking for it to be cooked a little more rather than very runny. We were glad we did because the toast was loaded with greens! It was definitely a little messy to eat, but in the fun, "this is actually delicious" kind of way. Nothing embarrassing... thankfully. He ordered the chicken and waffles, which he completely demolished. The sweet-and-savory combination was a big hit. I went with the French omelette, and it was delicious -- rich, flavorful, and surprisingly filling. I could only manage about half of it along with the salad! Overall, a wonderful brunch experience. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service was attentive, and there were so many tempting dishes coming out of the kitchen that we kept noticing things we wanted to try. This place is a joke -- where do I even begin?…read more We made reservations for a table on the covered patio this past Friday at 5:30 p.m. My wife, our two kids, and I arrived right on time, and the patio was mostly empty: two tables of four were occupied, while five other tables of four sat empty, along with a few high-tops and seats at the bar. The host was a bit gruff, but initially it didn't seem like a big deal. She seated us all the way in the back of the patio, directly in the path of the setting sun. Since there were plenty of open tables in shaded areas, we politely asked if we could move. We were told no because those tables were "reserved." We reminded the staff that we also had a reservation and asked why we couldn't sit at one of those tables instead. It's not like we walked in without one expecting special treatment. The host just kept repeating, "I'm sorry, but those tables are already reserved." They offered to move us inside or to the front side of the restaurant, but refused to seat us anywhere else on the covered patio. After more back-and-forth, the host finally relented with an annoyed, "That's fine, we can just adjust," and walked us over to a table that had technically still been occupied moments earlier. We then awkwardly stood there waiting for the diners to gather their things and leave while the staff rushed to clean the table. Once we sat down, the host came back out visibly upset, loudly rearranging and slamming tables while muttering to herself -- the only word I clearly caught was "unbelievable." She was obviously unhappy with us. The absurd part is that the "adjustment" she made was incredibly simple: she turned two four-top tables into a two-top and a larger table seating seven. Even after that, two other four-top tables remained untouched. During our meal, one of those tables was given to a mother and her young son, and the other to two dads and their daughters. So I'm still not sure why we were treated as though accommodating us was impossible. The rest of the staff honestly seemed just as uncomfortable with the situation as we were. The food itself was fine, but at that point we probably should have left. I've never been treated with this level of disrespect and disdain at a restaurant before. I honestly don't understand why the host was so determined to stick us in the back. Was it because we had a baby? Or because we didn't fit the racial profile of the clientele they want to attract? Either way, we won't be back.
