Had a mixed experience with Brazil's. They came highly recommended.
The good- I originally called for a leaky roof during a very rainy period. Justin came right out, hopped on the roof, found it was just some debris around the vent, and cleaned it off, no charge. Awesome!
The bad- I then asked if he could also clean off the roof. He said sure, but warned me they charge more than most since they don't pressure wash, they do it by hand. No problem, I did not want my roof pressure washed, since it degrades the roof. Typically, I have paid around $250 for the roof to be hand cleaned. For $489.60 with tax, his folks came out the next day and spent an hour cleaning my roof and gutters. I was having some complications from surgery, so didn't immediately check the work, though my friend taking care of me told me to check it out when I was up and moving around, as the newly painted soffits were now grubby.
When I did, I noticed my recently painted soffits and new gutters were filthy from dirt and debris being blown off. This happens every time my roof is blown off, and folks just take the hose and rinse it off. I have never had to tell anyone to do this, and it's always just been done. It took me about a week to contact Justin, since I am recovering from surgery and complications, and that delay on my part may have been part of the negative response I got. I sent Justin pictures and he responded it was "impossible" the debris was from the roof being blown off. No, it's not impossible. It happens every time. And for a roofing professional to not know this is "possible" seems like he just didn't want to deal with it, which was aggravating to me, and not worth pursuing a resolution. As soon as I am medically cleared I can rinse off the soffits and gutters without dealing with an attitude, or arguing about this being "possible."
After telling me it was "impossible" that it was their responsibility, Justin then used a lot of exclamation points to tell me it was my fault for not telling them the soffits and gutters get dirty when the roof is blown off. I didn't think I needed to explain that to a roofing professional. And after they started, I went to sleep, and my caretaker saw them off when they were finished.
Maybe Justin was having a bad day the second time around. He was hands-down fantastic the first time.
He did offer to come take a look, but after being told it was "impossible" the soffits and gutters could have gotten dirty from the roof being blown off, then using so many exclamation points to tell me it was my fault for not telling them the soffits and gutters get dirty when the roof is blown off, I declined having them come back to my property because I just don't want to deal with that attitude for something that won't take me long to clean once I'm able to.
For the amount of money spent, it seems like it would have been an easy win for him to not argue about this being "impossible" and just taking care of it.
Overall, a disappointing end product and customer service response for the amount of money spent, so I wouldn't use them again.
Very disappointing since the first experience was great, and they were so highly recommended. read more
