I love Braziliant Body Waxing! I've been coming here since before COVID-19 and their whole staff is lovely. I was familiar with their New Canaan location but since COVID they've closed that one and only working from their Ridgefield location. I live in Stamford which is a decent 30-40 minute drive that I actually do not mind taking. It's hard to come across a salon who you're able to trust when it comes to service, professionalism and overall cleanliness especially during a pandemic. Braziliant hits it out the park every time. I leave with the biggest smile on my face every time I come in for a wax. I will continue to rave to everyone I meet about this place. It's worth a trip to be serviced by them. read more

I went for a Brazilian but sadly, my prior laser sessions have not allowed for enough regrowth for waxing. But, since I took the almost 1.5 hr drive from NW CT, I decided to get my eyebrows shaped. With more natural brows making a permanent comeback, it was high time I grew mine out for a while. I didn't do anything to them for almost 3 mo by the time I got to Braziliant. Typically I get my brows threaded and have a great place for that, (Saroop's). But the reviews for waxing at Braziliant were so good, I thought why not. This is by far the best waxing place I've ever been to. I wish I could remember the name of the waxing specialist but it was evident that she has a knack for brows in addition to experience. The shape was kept natural and she filled in areas to make them look better than they've ever looked before. I was so happy because my wedding was the weekend after so it was a bold move to try a new place on my part, but in this case it worked out well. read more

As my way of treating myself for my 30th birthday, I figured I would get my first Brazilian wax because NOTHING says self-care like getting most of my bodily hair ripped out by the root! For a mostly Italian woman with PCOS who could pass as a lycanthrope, this is no small feat since I'm used to spending 2-3 hours in the bath tub, shaving and shaving and shaving myself from face to toe in order to feel like a woman and not like Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal, so for once I figured I'd spare myself all the nicks and cuts and pruny fingers (and frustration from looking in the mirror afterwards and seeing that despite my best efforts I STILL missed almost all the hair on the backs of my thighs). So, since I had heard about this place from a trusted lady friend, I booked my appointment online. I read rave reviews on Google and on here about Luciana, but alas, she was not available on the week I needed, so I went with whomever was available. The receptionist and the woman who did my waxing treatment were friendly and wonderful. The restroom (and place in general) was sparkling clean and fully stocked with tampons, pads, and wet wipes (something I absolutely wanted to use to be considerate of the stranger who was about to be all up in my privates) which it's always wonderful to see a place that's considerate of their customers' needs. Now, I happen to be a big (think BBW) lady and the fear of being judged for every bump, bulge, cellulite dimple, zit, bug bite, scar, etc. is omnipresent no matter how many times I'm told that I come across as confident, and I can say to my fellow big ladies that this place was recommended to me by a BBW and she didn't steer me wrong. I felt no judgment while I was here and I was able to just relax and let the woman do her job. For me, it was far from the most painful experience of my life. The worst parts for me were my calves (YES, most of my hoohah was actually pretty darn mild) and parts of my stomach, both of which I just probably won't have waxed again because they're super easy to shave. The thigh and bikini waxing were an absolute godsend and my partners (you know what I mean) felt that my money was well spent on the waxing. That's where I get to the one reason I withheld the 5th star: the unclear pricing. On the website, the prices seem extremely affordable, but they aren't super specific. I chose Brazilian, Full Leg, and Stomach, which on their website comes out to about $120 and change, however, my total was $220. I guess this means the tip was factored in (since I wasn't given an option to leave one when my card was swiped) but it also seems like they charged me extra for waxing my torso (I thought that counted as the stomach, silly me!) and my sacral area which I guess since my derriere is so vast they counted it as Half Back waxing. Not the end of the world, since I was fully expecting to spend quite a bit, but an extra $100 from what I was quoted seems worth mentioning. Overall, I would absolutely go back for the Brazilian and Thigh Waxing, as it's nice to be able to actually take a bubble bath for the purpose of relaxing instead of having to go to work futilely slashing Brillo-like hair strands off of my body! read more

The absolute worst waxing experience of my life. To start, the girl who waxed my eyebrows never asked me what shape I liked. This is also my bad for not making a point to tell her but I get my brows regularly done so the shape was pretty obvious. My eyebrows just needed to be cleaned up but what I got was terrible, they look like the angry birds cartoon. Not only that but she burned my skin with the wax. I told her I didn't like what she did and she told me next time we could do x,y,z...there will be no next time. The receptionist smiled and laughed as I told her I was disappointed and was shocked with the price. This place is over priced and really just awful. read more

I had never gotten a wax before and was even more nervous to do so because of covid. All of my fears went away as soon as I entered and was greeted so warmly by the staff. My biggest thing with salons is the look of them and this salon is gorgeous, super clean. The pricing is very fair! The wax is great, I've always been used to hard wax so the soft wax was a change but a lot nicer and not as painful!! My only con was I didn't have a great connection with my esthetician. So done with #BraziliantBodyWax in Ridgefield, CT. I went in to a lady who stated she didn't speak English very well. I said i want a small clean up for my brows. I said I want thick brows. I am growing them in. She smiled and said fine She took off a ton of my left eyebrow, then tried to tell me that she didn't wax there at the tail! My eye is red from where she waxed the hair off! Lol wth. Then, the manager and the girl who did my brows are talking in Portuguese... which pisses me off more, and the manager turns around and tells me, your eyebrows are fine, you can pencil that area in... um no, lady, just no. She says " so I messed your eyebrows up once, you are never happy." Lady you and your staff just do what you want. You don't listen, or apparently don't understand what your customers want. Actually, Luciana, I have been coming to your establishment for a year... A YEAR I saw Nicole for a year!! You did my eyebrows 3 times, and messed up once. Thatbwas once. I have been a client of Braziliant Body Waxing in Ridgefield, CT for at least three years. I booked an appointment via the salon's online booking system on 3/17/2020 and received the confirmation in addition to a REMINDER Notice yesterday for my appointment today, 3/19/2020. When I arrived at 11:28am for my 11:30am appointment, the door was locked. Luciana, and what appeared to be Ella, were at the Front Desk. Luciana came to the door and advised me they were closed, obviously due to the Coronavirus. I questioned why I hadn't been notified since I live almost an hour away and traveled a long distance, in addition to raising the point that the online system shouldn't be accepting reservations. Plus, my contact information such as phone and email are noted in the system making me easily reachable (and they have capability of viewing appointments on the computer). Luciana responded by saying "We tried calling 40 people yesterday". I said I never received a call about my appointment. In a very combative tone, Luciana stated "I'm not here to argue with you!". I mentioned to her that driving over I thought to call (but since I had received the Reminder Notice for my appointment yesterday), and since I hadn't been notified otherwise, I assumed the salon was open. Luciana then advised me she had a woman come all the way from Boston (which seemingly she didn't advise that client she was closed either). Frustrated, I responded that it's irrelevant stating it wasn't my problem. Luciana said to me "Ohhh, Selfish! You're Selfish!" and proceeded to close the door in my face. Less than ten minutes later, as I got into my car after pumping gas directly across from the salon, (the receipt from the gas pump shows 11:39:12AM), I received both a text and email reflecting my appointment had been cancelled. The time was noted on both at 11:07AM so either the booking system is not accurate or perhaps she altered the time to be earlier than my appointment -- a little late for the cancellation notice after the fact. I can totally understand that the current climate is challenging, however, it is incumbent on the salon staff to cancel via the system prior to the appointment (as she did after I was there) or contact the client that they were closed; and if something fell through the cracks, at least offer an apology for the confusion. Luciana obviously didn't see it that way. She was extremely unprofessional, irrational, rude, accepted no responsibility whatsoever for the mishap and to make matters worse, she turned the situation around and victimized me, a loyal client, as if to intimate it was my fault. Luciana requires a 24 hr. cancellation policy; however, she doesn't afford the same courtesy to her clients. One star only to submit the review. I will never patronize this business again. read more
