Ayyyyoo!! This place slaps. (Is that how the kids are saying it now a days?) My parents aren't from around here, and when they come we always make it a point to try new and local food joints we've never tried before. We live way up in South OC, and not gonna lie, it's hit or miss in regards to food places. My moms was craving Mediterranean and for some random reason she kept saying "BRAVO AVO". Me and my father (a fellow elite) decided to give her suggestion a shot and we definitely were NOT disappointed. We called in a "family meal" to-go, while we were on our way home from the beach. As soon as we arrived our food was ready and HOTT. The family meal comes with Salad, pita, hummus, veggie rice and two meat choices (we got the ground beef kabob and the chicken kabob). I also ordered another chicken salad on the side. Everything was just so fresh, seasoned perfectly, meat was tender. My favorite item was the signature salad dressing (which they sell by the bottle btw). It's a balsamic base, but just the right amount of tart + sweetness. You know it's good when my mom goes "I need to get that recipe". Come to Bravo AVO if you want to support your locally owned small business. Great first impression: easy parking (in Foothill Ranch's giant plaza), warm greeting, friendly strolling violinist live music Friday night. Menu is fun, especially desserts! I ordered the Avo Chicken, one of their signature dishes and it was flavored well. The falafel was fried well and crispy. However, service is on the slower side and there weren't many of us in the small place. They forgot the ice cream on the soufflé and it took a while to correct. Overall I would recommend! Omg where do I start about this fabulous restaurant! My husband and I have previously ordered to-go from Bravo Avo (BA) and found the food incredibly delicious and healthy at the same time! While deciding where to go for what we thought would be a "light bite" on Valentine's Day because we both worked that day, my husband stopped by and made reservations with BA for a 7:30 p.m. seating. When we arrived we had no idea that our 2024 Valentine's Day dinning experience would be everything but a "lite bite!". When we walked in there was a violinist serenading the entire restaurant with beautiful Romanian Love music that although we didn't know the songs; it definitely set the mood for a night of love! We were then seated at a table with my name on it and beautifully decorated in addition I was given a bag filled with some lovely gifts from the restaurant. There was a pre-fix menu for the night that was perfect in every way and valued far beyond the cost. My husband and I ordered two glasses of their house blend red wine at the suggestion of the co-owner and it was wonderful. The meal entailed a charcuterie board with three different spreads, pita, dates, salami, olives, feta cheese and so much more! We were then served two Greek salads, two meals with rice, fish, chicken and gyro! Lastly they ended the meal with a dessert for two and a bottle of champagne! I know that Carmen, the other owner, is passionate about her restaurant and serving tasty healthy food and kudos to the chef because everything was amazing! If you are ever in the area Bravo Avo is definitely a place to stop by and try all the fabulous entrees. Bravo Avo is always posting nice evenings that includes some form of entertainment so do yourself a favor and check them out. We have dined in twice and this last time was not a great experience. It's no wonder most of their business appears to be take out. Pros: friendly servers, everything tasted delicious, cozy restaurant, nice server. Best grilled eggplant (baba ganoush) in town. My son enjoyed the robot server. Cons: 1. Service is slow. The first time we went at around 4p on a weekday to enjoy a bite before picking up our son. The service was so slow we had to take our entree to go so we didn't miss pickup. Not sure why because we were the only ones there. The second time our second entree was completely missed after sitting at the table waiting for at least 30 minutes since ordering. When I first asked about it, it was explained that takeout orders are prioritized over dine in (which I don't agree with). When I asked again it turns out that the machine did not print out the ticket machine did not print my order. The fact that my dish was on the online menu but not the printed one in the restaurant should have been a red flag. However this was not discovered until I asked a second time and she said that the kitchen said they were all done and asked if we wanted dessert? Not exactly sure why you would take the kitchen's word over the starving customers with no food in front of them? After an hour our order was still not correct (see #2 below) and we had to leave to put my son to bed. 2. Undercooked seafood. This was the worst offense. Came back a second time also on a weekday during dinner. Ordered the shrimp and salmon combo (the one that was super delayed - see #1). Not sure if it was the haste to bring out the meal quickly from being delayed or if that's how it's made but the shrimp was barely pink and translucent. Sent it back and I could hear the kitchen yelling about it. It came back exactly the same but with more sauce and vegetables on it. We did not eat it due to safety concerns because I was 6 months pregnant. Even my husband said he would not eat it and he eats everything ha. Was still charged the full $21 despite my dish basically missing half of the protein. The dish was meant to serve me and my son - both of us were starving and still left kind of hungry. It was the thing my son wanted most. 3. Fries are an appetizer and not a side. This needs to be corrected as it doesn't make sense. 99.9% of restaurants offer fries as a side. I shouldn't have to buy a whole new appetizer for this. Overall we really want to support our local restaurants but instances like the above make it hard to justify. We were comped some baklava while we were waiting but not on our check which is disappointing. I would maybe try dining in one more time during weekend dinner which seems to be a focus or take out. We tried to be understanding about the situation but I do not feel comfortable recommending this place to anyone else or bringing anyone else until I see more consistent service and delivery. read more

The food is amazing. I was not happy with the service. I took senior here for lunch. But did not pay attention to the time. The server took my order then, when food arrived. They told we have 15mins to eat and get out. The woman server whom took my order. Her face was like, I don't want to work here. No kind word from her or anyone before I order let me know that, the restaurant was going to close at 2:30PM. The woman server was not my favorite it. She is happy to serve us. Why they take my order and rush me out. I love this place and food always good. This is the first time that, I feeling like not welcome to eat here. I found out about Bravo Avo through a FB post. Camen reached out to a homeless mother who was going through rough times. She gave her food enough for meals for 3 days. The lady who was having the rough times let everyone know about the compassion and generosity of Carmen, Carmen was humble and did not even mention the generosity to the public. I was impressed and wanted to find out more about Bravo Avo. I viewed the menu and was impressed. I also viewed reviews from others which were all excellent reviews. I told my wife that we must go there. We are sitting at the table as I write this review, very satisfied and impressed. The location is is to get to. The environment is clean, friendly and welcoming. The menu selections are outstanding, from appetizers, entrees to deserts and beverages are delicious. We plan on returning to this friendly and extraordinary restaurant. read more

Not big on Mediterranean/Greek food, but wife want to eat somewhat healthy, so here I am. But I must say the food was great and very fresh. The pita bread was amazing and the chicken kabobs are the best I ever had. The chicken was marinated and cooked perfectly. My wife loved the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Yesterday, I found this great find in Foothill Ranch. I got the Rib Tip Plate, with rice, a salad, and pita, and WOW it was all amazing! Everything was delicious. The staff was amazing as well. You can tell they truly care about their customers and creating a family environment for them. My boyfriend mentioned he wanted Lemon and Chicken soup and asked if he could substitute the salad for soup, and unfortunately they were unable to. My husband and I have enjoyed the food at Bravo Avo in Foothill Ranch for many years. We recently rediscovered this small restaurant and were happy to see that they survived Covid. Bravo Avo is currently undergoing a change in ownership and this most certainly has not effected their yummy menu. Today we had the Chicken ala Avo pita sandwich. This pita sandwich is packed full with sliced chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, squash and a surprise dill pickle seasoned with their delicious Avo sauce. We had ours at a spiciness level of 5 out a 10. Just the right amount of kick. The new owners are very friendly so a definite plus. Now, here's the one thing that put me off. On each table there was a little stone plaque with a saying. These sayings tended to be about women. Not all bad but I found the one at my table and the one at the table next to me offensive. Definitely a misguided attempt at humor. Please take these down...not funny. read more
