I am on Cloud Nine right now! Eric is a WIZARD! He turned a HEINOUS botched cover of a tattoo into a work of art I can't wait to show people. It's been an eyesore on my ankle for almost 5 years. Now it's beautiful. This summer, I am going to wear skirts and shorts! I called yesterday, and he said I could come in that afternoon for a consult. He fit me in his schedule the next day. He was very prompt. We started right at 7:30 as scheduled. It took exactly 2 hours as planned. I was very surprised that it did not hurt that much! Some tattoo artists really dig into you and make it hell, but not Eric. My palms sweated, but that was it. The two hours went by fast. He is extremely personable and fun to talk to. Also, the decor is great! So much fun stuff to look at. I chose Eric and Brave New World because of great things I read here on Yelp. He is THE guy for covers! He has almost two decades of experience, and he is an ARTIST. He has a can-do attitude, which set me at ease from the beginning. He refuses to "beaten" by a cover. He is a boss! I am coming back to have my other two tattoos (which are nice already) further beautified by Eric. Pricing was very reasonable. My only regret is not going there sooner! I have been noticing and admiring Eric Cox's art for years, and just in the last year and a half found myself in his chair. I came to him with a vague idea, a smattering of images that represent a style I'm interested in, and not much more. He listened so intuitively to my thoughts that he turned it into a beautiful composition I never would have dreamed up. I believe I actually jumped up and down the first time I saw the finished drawing. I was so enthralled with the finished result that I promptly asked him to start a leg piece for me. Eric's style is characteristically his own, and it is apparent he is a lover and maker of fine art. Plus, his shop is amazing. I wanted to wait until my tattoo healed completely before I left a review just so my review would be accurate. But I went to Ben Vigil for my tattoo. I was a little nervous at first because it was my first time going to Brave New World, I had gone to a different tattoo guy for my first 4 tattoos. But the minute I walked into Brave New World, Ben made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He spent about 3 hours on my tattoo and the whole time he played reggae music which was AWESOME because it's my favorite genre of music and really calmed me down. He's also a really nice guy and is an amazing tattoo artist. I'm planning on getting a sleeve and I will definitely be trusting him with the remainder of it. Enrique Lazaro is the kind of artist everyone should want when getting a tattoo. Tattoos are permanent, Enrique likes to do permanent perfect. There isn't any room for error in his continuously creative mind and his tattoos reflect that. If you need a 1" peace sign to remember a drunken adventure, maybe go somewhere else.. If you want an original piece that rivals, nay, beats any tattoo you've ever seen, go to Enrique at Brave New World. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, all the artists there feed off of each other and are just as excited for your tattoo as you are. Sterile, clean, organized, it's as if you're getting surgery in a hospital that has incredibly nice doctors and great artwork all over it's walls. I went in today as a walk-in, and Ben got to work sketching it out right away. I went in with a really simple design of the Colorado flag and he decked it out and made it so much better than I was originally planning. I noticed while I was there that he was an apprentice at the shop and was pretty shocked about how little credit his coworkers gave him. Even when he showed someone the finished work they said something like, cool...did that hurt? Yes it hurt, but the finished product was MORE than worth it. How about a "damn dude, that's awesome good job"...? Ben did above and beyond what I wanted and I would definitely recommend him to anybody looking for an amazing addition to their skin! Fantastic experience! The facility is clean, music is at a tone where you can still have a pleasant conversation, staff is friendly and owner, Eric Cox is very talented and easy to get along with. I spoke with him about my idea for lace and a rose on my forearm. I told him I didnt want "cookie cutter" lace and he assured me cookie-cutter is not his style. He also stressed the importance of styles when tattooing women and men which I really appreciate because I expressed my concerns about a tattoo I currently have that I feel is very abrasive and too masculine for my liking. After receiving a bad tattoo over 10 years ago, I was reluctant to go back down that road again. Finally, I couldn't look at it any more, and I started researching premier tattoo shops in Denver. I walked in to Brave New World one afternoon on an impulse to get another tattoo... Ben was my tattoo artist and he did such an incredible job with it. The space was clean professional which j really appreciated. He didn't mind at all that I was super picky, and super finicky and that I asked him to resize it and change the look of it a bunch of times: he was super helpful and he made it look exactly the way that I wanted it I am so in love with it! I have an amazing tattoo done by Enrique at Brave New World. I gave him a few ideas and told him to make it his own. He has made this tattoo a piece of very unique art, and I am proud to wear it on my arm. We have been working together for almost 2 years, and every time I see him, my artwork just gets better and better. His use of color is like no other. He is patient, thorough and very proffessional. Enrique does work on my arm sleeve and my husband's, as well as other family members. He is awesome, and all of his work is custom. I gave him some references and ideas, and he put together a beautiful piece of artwork that translated very nicely to a very feminine sleeve that exceeded my expectations. The shop is also very clean, and the walls are covered with amazing art that really adds nicely to the ambience. I had wanted to get some stylized Arabic on my under wrist covered for some time. I walked in with a couple images of big cats printed out that I wanted to use for the cover. Ben was super friendly and knowledgeable. We chatted about some options and then Ben drew up the stencil. I was in the chair before I knew it and the tattoo turned out great. Recently got some work done with Ben and i must say the best work i have ever had done. Plain and simple. Just walked in the door and her sat down with and within a few hours had a nice custom piece done that i am very happy with. Got my very first tattoo with Eric. This was a sentimental and sensitive experience for me as I was getting a tattoo in memory of my daughter that I lost in pregnancy. Eric was very empathetic to my situation and took his time helping me narrow down the choices I came up with and which ones would look best and last the longest. I went with her name "Zoey" tattooed on the inner wrist. It was perfect! I never had intended to get a tattoo until the recent events in my life. Ben Vigil is a legit artist!! Flew into Denver last April to move to the springs and had Ben do some artwork for me. Came up to Denver last night and called up Ben asking to have some colors touched up, he squeezed me in at the end of his day! He's always friendly and his work is wonderful. As an artist he will listen to what you want and go create it and then make sure you are happy with it. The shop itself is super clean and a very chill atmosphere. Ive gotten two tattoos done by Ben Vigil and have had great experiences both times. I found the shop to be very professional and friendly, and had very fair prices. Ben Vigil was the artist who gave a beautiful (and perfect) tattoo and he immediately made me feel comfortable. The tattoo I got was the Fibonacci spiral. As anyone knows, that is a very technical design. Ben spent some time drawing it up before the appointment to make sure it was what I wanted. Enrique Lazaro at BNW did an amazing job on my tattoo. I was a little worried as it is very symmetrical but he did a perfect job on it.
