My wife and I stopped by a few weeks ago and overall had a really nice experience. The food and drinks were great and the decor and vibe were awesome. The only thing that felt a little off was how often the dress code was mentioned. We were let in and felt dressed appropriately, but it came up multiple times and even again as we were leaving. I understand and respect having a dress code, but the way it was communicated felt a bit uncomfortable. We would definitely go back and enjoyed everything else. Had dinner at Bravado on Saturday night and really enjoyed it. The bar is a standout--love that you can access it from inside the restaurant or straight from the patio. The patio will be great once the weather warms up. The vibe is classy, but hip and upbeat with a DJ playing EDM, Latin house, and lounge-style music. The dress code is a plus for those who appreciate an upscale atmosphere. If that's not your thing, this probably is not the spot for you. There are plenty of other options for you in the area. Service was excellent from start to finish. The owner and host were welcoming at the door, our server was attentive, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Wife and I came here the other night, we saw it was a new place in downtown Covina. It's too dark inside, we had to use our flashlights on our phones to read the menu. The music could be turned down a bit if you want to have conversation. Maybe it's just because we're not part of the younger crowd. LOL. I got the filet, which was very good, and cooked perfectly to my request of medium rare. The whipped potatoes, however, were bland and dry. My wife got the Ahi Tartare, she enjoyed it. The service was spotty. When we were seated, the bartender came to our table to get our drinks, but never mentioned the specials, which if we had known about the tamohawk special, we probably would have ordered that to share. Great place for any occasion! I recall seeing the business owners outside of the establishment while it was under construction. They were friendly from the start. I have been there a few times now, and the staff, the service, food, and the drinks, of course, are superb! The service has been fantastic, whether it's been two, four, or eight of us. Enrique is everyone's favorite bartender, and Nina is a sweetheart! My friend and I missed brunch once because they closed the kitchen a bit earlier, but they still gave us two complimentary drinks. I really wanted to love this new spot in Downtown Covina. The space is honestly super cute -- definitely gives off a sexy, upscale vibe. It looks like it would be a great place for drinks and a night out. Looks interesting, though the drinks are definitely on the pricier side. Unfortunately, our experience was really disappointing. The restaurant states they're open until 3pm. We arrived at 1:45pm, expecting to have plenty of time to eat. When we walked in, the staff looked genuinely shocked to see us, and the place was pretty empty. We were then told the kitchen was already closed -- an hour and 15 minutes before their posted closing time. To make it more confusing, they said the bar was still open... but there wasn't even bar food available. So technically "open," but not actually serving food. If a restaurant is going to close the kitchen early, that really needs to be communicated clearly. We showed up during posted business hours and left without being able to eat. Super disappointing, especially since we were excited to try it. Really hope they tighten up their hours and consistency, because the space has a lot of potential. read more

Came to this place for a girls night. Ambiance is cool. Cocktails are ok at best. Tried each of the four we ordered. Struggled to find a cocktail on the menu that I wanted to order. Didn't try any of the food. This place needs to serve craft cocktails in larger coups or glasses if they are going to charge $18-20 per drink. This was my first time visiting, and the experience was impressive from the moment we arrived. The woman who opened the door greeted us with a warm smile, setting a positive tone right away. The ambiance inside was stylish and inviting, with a very cool vibe. The menu was far more diverse than I expected, and everything we tried was excellent. The hamburger was cooked perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and paired with really good bread. The tuna crudo was refreshing and delicious, and the garlic fries had just the right amount of garlic. I also tried two of their signature cocktails: the Benjamin Button, which was light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink, and one of their gin-based drinks, which was equally enjoyable. Service was outstanding. Our server was polite, attentive, and quick, and when she went on break, she personally introduced the server who would be taking over. That level of care really stood out. The restaurant does have a dress code, and they actually enforce it--something many places claim but don't follow through on--so it's worth dressing appropriately. I also appreciated that the overall noise level was comfortable. Guests were respectful, and it never felt loud or chaotic. I'm already planning to return to try more of their mezcal cocktails and additional menu items like their salmon. read more

Came here on a Saturday with reservations for 7:30 PM. The hostess told us our table was being prepared, but we didn't get seated until 8:00 PM -- 30 minutes later. We were then taken to the patio where we had to push tables together ourselves, and there was no silverware set up. If our table was being "prepared," why wasn't it actually ready? I had also specifically requested indoor seating when making the reservation. The beef tartare had eggshells in it. When I asked to speak to the manager (not Carlos the owner, but another manager), she insisted that's how it comes and even confirmed it with the chef. We've had beef tartare at other restaurants before -- never with eggshells. Then when she served our steak, a long strand of her hair was on the plate. If my husband hadn't noticed and pointed it out, she would have served it that way. Her response was, "Oh, you caught that," which was honestly shocking. Drinks are small for the price, and overall portions feel expensive for what you get. I do give credit to Carlos for trying to make things right -- he gave us a round of three drinks -- but for a $300+ bill (before tip), I feel more should have been done, especially considering we had to wait again for a replacement steak. Comping that dish would have felt more appropriate. The indoor space is nice , but the patio experience was not great it's was cold and just not nice. We were excited to try this new establishment.We were not aware of the dress code. The unfriendly security guard would not let us in and pointed out we cannot wear sports wear. We were not allowed inside. Right then, a couple came out of the restaurant wearing sports clothes. We immediately pointed this out and he couldn't say anything. Claimed they weren't allowed either. I really really wanted to like this place. But it's just not good. The service was not great, had to wait 15 minutes before I could even ask for a food menu. I wished I'd never asked for it at all. Had the misfortune of having the lobster "Mac and cheese". This was not a Mac and cheese, but a watery, tasteless pile of pasta with some shell covered lobster pieces in it. Inedible. I was asked 3 times if I wanted a box to take it home, and each time I said no. No one bothered to ask if it tasted ok. Because it did not. The drinks are also terrible. My husband had the old fashioned, it was nothing special. The lavender smoke and the rouge #2 were both horrible. They both tasted like variations of a campfire that had been put out with a wet mop. Just disgusting. The Benjamin Button cocktail wants so badly to be the Ponzi at Lincoln House, but completely misses the mark. Came here on a Friday night without a reservation. They were full but were able to accommodate my party of 2 with a fairly minimal wait. The lobby area was pretty cool decorated with old sewing machines but small for the amount of people waiting. The lady at the front was very friendly and professional. Once seated, my husband and I were greeted by the owner. We made our drink order but were given the incorrect drinks which were quickly corrected. The waitress was very kind and invited us back. The drinks were pretty good and I'd come back to try more of their cocktails. Overall, I'm super excited to finally have another classy establishment in Covina and especially one that will be open past 11pm on a weekend!! (We are regulars at the other place down the street which closes wayyyy too early!) This will be a great place for a date night as long the music isn't too loud which makes it incredibly difficult to have a conversation.
