There is an illusion that they are sensitive to food allergies/sensitivities by their labeling of GF, Veg, & V ... however they utilize butter in many dishes that normally would be expected to be prepared w/only oil. Learned this only after tasting and asking ( at which point I noticed the difference in labeling by Veg / V). As per our inquiry w/our kind & upbeat( although somewhat clueless) green haired waitress, they Pre make a lot of the dishes & hence can not cook to order ... for instance a shrimp dish w/garlic in only oil vs oil & butter ?! My daughter and I had dinner. A charming, simple place with an excellent beer and wine selection. I had an effervescent rose which was delightful and different, like a dry rose that's aspiring to be champagne. We started with the mushroom bruschetta, a combination of mushroom, fig, and goat cheese made into a spread over grilled bread sprinkled with pistachios. Very nice! I wanted more. We ordered an array of tapas. The potatoes bravas for a little bit different than I've had in the past, dusted in a spicy seasoning and drizzled with a yogurt herb sauce. Excellent. The lamb chops came is three medium-size chops with a mild yogurt mint sauce. Also good. We had a spicy shrimp dish, barely breaded and fried very fresh shrimp with a spicy chili sauce. Fresh, simple and good. We ended with a cheese plate, asking the waitress to choose for us. It was very large and you're really good with the triple cream that was exceptional, a mustard laden cheddar that was different in a good way, and a shaved something that was divine paired with prosciutto and a spicy, soft chorizo. There were dried apricots, tiny pickles and pickled peppers on the tray as well. So good! The service was wonderful and the overall experience was a delight. We're definitely coming back. read more

I went with a friend for dinner and we're both from NYC. We ordered the calamari, seared scallops, lamb chop, and kale salad. The food quality were inconsistent. My piece of lamb chop was done correctly and the meat was pink - I liked it while my friend's slice was dry (could be over cooked). The seared scallops came with 4 pieces and my friend that it was good while I thought it a bit chewy. The calamari was way too salty - I had to drink two glasses of water. I was going to complain about this one but my friend encouraged me not to. The kale salad was decent. Overall, I wouldn't recommend - the quality of the food didn't match with my expectations of the price. Service was good! The staff was friendly. We did see a lot of people eating pizza! But there are so many pizza shops in Lenox. read more

We stopped in here while visiting the Berkshires on a weekend getaway and enjoyed our experience. They have an extensive beer and wine list which we appreciated. They didn't have a glass of the wine I wanted to order available on the evening we went but the waiter suggested a nice alternative and brought some over for me to taste. We started with the fried calamari, patatas bravas, and the lamb chops. The fried calamari was nothing special but did have a crispy coating although I found some of the pieces to be slightly rubbery. The sauce they served alongside though was fantastic, it added some nice heat to the flavor. The patatas bravas were crispy and the sauce on them was also very delicious. I felt the lamb chops were slightly overcooked but the accompanying mint sauce really helped with the taste. Overall, I felt the sauces really added so much flavor to the dishes although I thought all of them were slightly saltier than I prefer. We finished our meal with a pizza which was as good as described by other reviewers. It had a nice crispy crust and a terrific flavor profile, the tomato sauce really tasted very fresh. To end, we ordered an espresso martini which was customized to our request. We asked for creamy and not too sweet and they definitely delivered a great cocktail. It seems like every time I've come here I am being rushed to leave. I have also received attitude when I was taking my time to look up the wines. The bottles are marked up way too high for the actual quality. They do not offer decent mid-range wines and it seems like the only excellent wines you could get would cost you over $100. We enjoyed dinner at Brava, a tiny tapas restaurant, while visiting the Berkshires. The wine and beer lists were incredible! We also really loved the food. For two people, we ordered five tapas (we skipped the pizza this time around) and tried the mushroom goat cheese bruschetta, the meatballs, the Swiss chard, the sweet and spicy shrimp, and the scallops. We enjoyed everything but our favorite was the meatballs, which came in a sweet, BBQ-like tomato sauce. Delicious. The only downside of this meal was the speed at which the food arrived. We ordered a fair amount of food but we're done eating in under 30 minutes. Plates were not spaced out enough! But that was the only negative we noticed about the meal. read more

The space is simple and cozy with a couple of big windows and small tables that can be pushed together for larger groups. Flexibility is key in a dining room of this size, particularly when there is a no reservations policy. This theory was quickly proven when the guy next to me and I were each asked to shift left one stool to make room at the bar for a party of five who were facing a 30+ minute wait for a table. Request cheerfully accommodated. I wasn't in the mood to peruse the wine list so I just asked for a glass of rosé and was quickly provided with a delicious Bandol. After consulting with one of the servers, I placed my order. I opened with the marinated white anchovies and was immediately transported back to a sunny day in Barcelona. They were perfect and paired beautifully with my wine. The portion was ideal - enough to satisfy without overwhelming my taste buds. Great start. Next up was a salad of roasted beets and basil chèvre. The serving was generous, presented on a simple white rectangular plate which was the ideal backdrop to the vivid colors of the dish. The beets were sweet and the components were nicely balanced without any single ingredient outshining another. As I was making my through the salad, my next (and final) two plates arrived: the patatas brava and the lamb chops. The potatoes were amazing - cubed and perfectly cooked with a crisp exterior and fluffy inside, generously accompanied by a smoky, spicy remoulade of sorts. My first bite inspired hiccups, my usual response to spicy food, but they quickly abated and I focused my attention on this plate because potatoes need to be eaten hot. So damn good. The lamb chops, two on the plate and served with mint sauce (not mint jelly), were fantastic. Cooked to a perfect pink, flavorful and tender, these chops were exactly the protein I wanted to accompany my otherwise vegetable centric meal. I'll confess right now that, after cutting away all of the meat possible, I finished by picking up the chops and getting a good gnaw in before acknowledging that I was perfectly satiated and ready to continue my drive home. read more

We were optimistic going in after hearing the reviews. Left underwhelmed. Arrived before opening time to ensure a seat. Service was excellent. Ambiance was cozy. Tapas concept was fun. The pizza was mediocre - would not order again. White bean bruschetta spicy in the wrong way. It tasted more like cumin / indian inspired yet we were expecting something more along the lines of a northern italian white bean bruschetta. So do wish we asked for more of a description but assumed it was self explanatory. French fries were ok, overcooked and too crispy. Patatas Bravas - preparation was too similar to the french fries with sauce too heavily spiced in the wrong direction for our taste buds. Meatballs were tasty and a nice surprise. Swiss Chard dish was also well done. Overall, good idea underexecuted. The bill seemed high for what we got. Surprised by all the hype. Hope the owners take the constructive feedback. read more

Disorganized, selective, rude, unfriendly. You can't even grab a drink at the bar. I have no idea how their food is because my husband and I were never served. We were in Lenox for a romantic weekend away and went to grab drinks and tapas. Brava had a good crowd and a wait for tables. We waited for ten minutes before someone came to take names for the wait list. After hearing the wait, my husband and I decided to try our luck at the bar. There were no seats, but a corner of the bar was open so we waited there to put in a drink order. "Do you want to put your name in for a table?" A waiter asked us. "No. We'll hang at the bar" I said. The waiter nodded but said nothing else. didn't take our drink order, just wiped the table in front of us and left. We waited another ten minutes. No one took our order. We were beginning to get annoyed. Two women sitting at the bar with their beers were called to get their table. We took their seats and tried to catch the eye of a bartender. Finally, after I awkwardly nodded at him, he looks at us. "Are you on the list?" he asks. "No..." "the bar seats are for people on the list," he said. "There's a wait." For two seats at the end of the bar??? Twenty minutes had passed and nobody had made this clear. And there was ample opportunity to say something to us while we were waiting. It was clear the bartender knew we werent on the list. We were literally ignored until there was no way to ignore us anymore. I've never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant or bar before. I checked into my hotel at 8 PM from a long drive and was afraid every decent restaurant might be closed. I yelped it and found this place and I was surprised to find out that they actually open until pretty late. It's quite neighborhood in Lenox before the ski season but they were pretty busy at 9 PM. I order some anchovy which was very wonderful and skirt steak which was also quite good. I also ordered lamb chop popsicle to go so I can have it with my single malt back in the hotel. Looking for a nice spot for dinner this evening and came across Brava. The place was full at about 7:30PM on this Saturday evening but I was able to get a seat near the window. I had a glass of Two Road "Road to Ruin" IPA on tap which was excellent along with an order of Spicy Fried Chick Peas. Nice combo. I followed this with another IPA :) and a personal sized mushroom and fontina cheese pizza (no sauce). Also excellent. Bravo Brava! read more

Roamed Lenox for a replacement restaurant - our initial reservation was canceled due to "no dough". Literally a pizza restaurant with "no dough". So, on the move in beautiful Lenox to find a restaurant that would seat us Sunday, Labor Day weekend, we came upon a lively scene - happy dining at every table. So we joined the waiting list and then a few moments later we were asked if we wanted to dine at the bar. Why, of course. The same menu serving delicious apps to mains, same festive atmosphere, same service at the bar yet a front-row seat to the kindest bartenders chatting, smiling as the crowd very thirsty, they kept enthusiastic our entire meal. Kind, delicious, prompt service, festive - all as other restaurants shuttered ya know, cause Labor Day Sunday. Bravo to Brava. When in Lenox, MA - I will be there. read more

We were with family members who lean towards plant-based eating and Brava had so many wonderful options, we didn't even miss the meat (although we did eat dairy -- entirely vegan might have been more of a challenge). One word - amazing! My husband and I were staying in Stockbridge and wanted to have a later dinner. Since most of Stockbridge shuts down pretty early, Brava was suggested to us.. and it was one of the best suggestions ever! We walked in around 9pm on a Sunday and got a seat at the bar. It's a very small restaurant with a neighborhood feel. It was actually quite packed, and people kept steadily coming in up until we left at 11pm. The bartender was friendly and quick to greet us. They have an excellent wine and beer selection, so there was a lot of choose from. The bar tender was very knowledgeable and helped us decide on both drinks and food selections. The food was amazingly flavorful. Based on the bartender reds, we had the meatballs, wings, shrimp and garlic, and arugula salad. The meatballs melted in your mouth and the wings were the perfect amount of crispy. I would HIGHLy recommend this place to anyone looking for food food, good drinks, and an inviting atmosphere! read more

Let me be the first (or one of the few) to say...the hype is not real. I did a lot of research before heading up to the Berkshires this past weekend, and Brava is a restaurant I wish I had skipped. Given all the rave reviews, I headed here with my bf for Saturday night dinner around 9pm. It was busy but there was no wait for a table. While the lighting is dim and it looks like it would be a nice restaurant (as you would expect with tapas), it felt more like an Irish pub especially with the music choice and the fact that it felt almost like a college bar vibe towards the end of the night as more clientele came in and stood by the bar. Not at all what we were expecting especially given the prices of the tapas (not cheap for what you get, and we're from NYC, which says a lot). My description of this place would be Irish-pub-meets-tapas-but-really-overpriced-Italian-food. Our arugula salad had a dijon vinaigrette that was overly pungent and tasted like it was straight up dijon (without emulsifying any olive oil or something of the sort). The gambas al ajillo tasted like Italian style scampi, and the sauce was very runny. The patatas bravas had a chipotle mayo sauce on top of it, and just was not what we were expecting. I also didn't love how they were spiced. The brussel sprouts with bacon were good. Finally, we ordered a bottle of red wine, and no joke, it tasted bubbly, which makes me think...improper storage. Servers were friendly hence the two stars but other than that, not my cup of tea. read more

Great quaint comfy restaurant with friendly service. Food was very good. We had the kale salad, shrimp alioli, bruschetta and pimientos. Of those, all were good although I probably next time would swap out the bruschetta to try something else as the flavors didn't work as well as I wanted them to ( walnut/ goat cheese/ fig sounds amazing on paper but wasn't great). Nice wine selection although I ordered the sangria which I did not like ( too much vodka and no fruit). I am fine with when a restaurant chooses to have heir own take on an item but our waiter should have warned us how it would be prepared ( I ended up leaving it on the table). So my fiancée was taking me to a "topless" bar, and there was a pole in the center of the restaurant, but it seemed more structural than artistic, when we sat down, it became clear that I misheard her. That being said, despite the lack of dancers, this TAPAS bar is one of the better restaurants in Lenox, wonderful, and clearly fresh shrimp and calamari tapas, and good pizza. I'm not a beer fan, but it looks like a 5 page list of craft beers for those inclined. Wine list is equally as extensive. All in all, a good meal, slightly expensive, but at least you're saving all of those single dollar bills! read more

This place is amazing. We came here tonight with fingers crossed hoping we could catch a seat. We walked into a full house - but the staff was so pleasant and accommodating that we didn't feel like we had to wait at all. We were quickly served drinks (which - by the way - the drink list was outstanding; their beer and wine menus are more extensive than most restaurants we've seen in Boston and New York...) and made to feel at home. Once we were seated, the great service only continued. And then came the food.... We started with the warm bread and generously salted butter, which was exceptional. Following that, some plates we got that are really worth mentioning are: 1. Fresh mozzarella bruschetta - This was A+ ... The pesto was perfectly savory and salty, and was nicely offset by the acidic sweetness of the tomatoes, which all sat atop a thick slice of mozzarella and an appropriately thick and soft slice of bread. Outstanding. 2. Boom boom shrimp - This dish was like a better / home-made version of the Bang-Bang Shrimp at the Bonefish Grill (if you've ever had it) ... except so, so, so, (can I emphasize SO) much better. The shrimp were boiled to perfection--rather than fried)--and the sauce was light, spicy, and flavorful. The dish left you wanting more, not feeling weighed down. 3. Patatas Bravas - The potatoes were deep-fried to perfection - each perfectly browned, crispy, and covered in its share of thick, spicy pepper sauce. Bottom line, this place competes for #1 dinner spot in Lenox (truly as good or better than Nudel - our other favorite spot - an exquisite restaurant just down the block). My favorite place in the Berkshires. It's an easier destination for two people; it's going to be hard to get seats for four or more without a wait. Their beer menu is one of the best I've ever seen - their selection of Belgians alone is worth going for. You have to be okay for tapas for dinner, and their food is incredible. We're pretty healthy and still found stuff we could eat on the menu. This is just one of those places that is truly unique - it does its own thing and it does it amazingly well. read more

This is an itty-bitty teeny-tiny place. I counted 9 tables of two and maybe a dozen or so seats at the bar. That's it. However for such a tiny place it has a pretty huge beer and wine list! Since its quite small I would expect this place must fill up quickly on weekends and during the summer months. It was pretty fully on a Wednesday night in early June. The food menu is mainly tapas and some pizzas. The menu isn't nearly as large as the beer and wine menu but its big enough. We started with the spicy chickpeas and the almonds and both were good. We settled on tapas of bang-bang shrimp, bruschetta w/mozzarella tomato & pesto, the parmesan fries, and maybe something else I can't recall right now. All the tapas we had were good and recommended. We didn't order a pizza (err... flatbread) but the people next to us did and it looked pretty decent. My favorite was probably the bruschetta. For dessert I had the bread pudding which I would recommend but keep in mind the flavor changes daily. Service was fine no issues there. Only downside were the size of the place (it's also a bit noisy) and it's a little pricy. Two people with one middle-of-the-road glass of wine each was $100 including tip and that wasn't for a huge amount of food. If you eat or drink a lot you can expect the cost to go up from there. But it's a nice place and its Lenox so I guess it's worth it. read more
