Braum's in Murphy, TX has joined the growing list of local fast food establishments poorly prepared food sold to it's customers. On two occasions within two weeks similar nasty, cold food and weak foundation drinks. First, occasion first time ordering #7 chicken sandwich meal the chicken was tough, cold and nasty tasting. Days laters contacted MOD Katherine who offered a replacement meal. Informed her first and last time ordering Brums chicken sandwich meal would order tried and true normal hamburger meal combination. Unfortunately, upon arriving for the meal replacement credit dad to report similar results. The #1 hamburger meal combo was at best unpleasant. The meat was not warm enough to melt the cheese not warm period not to speak of fresh of the grill. The tomatoes looked and tasted very soft, the fries were cold, soggy and grease filled. The ice tea however was perfect (sweet). Did not return to counter to complain just discarded what was left of the meal, left and added to lessons learned about certain local fast food establishments we in a pinch and just want a decent meal on the go. In this case the only place for me when it comes to a decent well prepared hot presentation hamburger meal IN-&OUT is the best burger choice for me usually fairly consistent fresh presentation and food quality but just not close enough to visit when in the need of a good affordable burger fix. Passing on this local Brums for better food choice opportunities when in a pinch and in need of a quality fast food choice. read more

So this Review was about my particular experience tonight my wife and I wanted some ice cream it's 10:30 I called up there to see if they were still open and a very sweet girl answered the phone saying we are open till 10:40, said great we are five minutes away we will be there, we get there the very sweet girl answers the drive thru. The food was alright. The young man who did our initial order was very professional and kind. After our meal my wife went to get our son an ice cream. She was helped by a young woman in a hijab who was extremely rude. My wife pointed at the cookies & cream ice cream. The young woman said "we don't have any." My wife said, "it's right there, I'm pointing at it" to which the worker replied, "well there's not enough." So my wife asked for "German Chocolate." I will say, that I totally relied on Yelp because most times if something is closing, you'll see the amount of time remaining when you do a search. Nothing indicated this, so I drove up there. (near my house) As I pulled in, I saw a lot of people inside so I got my 3 littles out and proceeded inside to order. The ice cream line was so packed with about 4-5 employees serving only that line. I stood waiting at the food register area when I finally noticed after about 5 min. a woman that looked to be one of the managers asked a young guy to get on the register. He never looked up one time at me while I was ordering and didn't listen to my order. I mentioned one jr burger plain and dry. I even said just meat and bun only. Two others just had meat, cheese and extra pickles. Mine was the same but in addition, I asked for bacon. At one point he rolled his eyes and said wait a minute so you don't want ketchup, etc.? I said no, repeated again what I did want. He seemed so short fused, I wanted to just tell him take a chill pill. So then I noticed him scratching the side of his face, which was gross. Not getting into details here. Order finally came out after a good wait. All wrong, but mine. Never a plain burger in sight, all had ketchup & cheese which wasn't even melted. Patties were burnt looking. Lettuce not fresh. So at that point I had to speak w/a manager. Thankfully, Kirstie was not only apologetic but did mention she will speak w/Derek. Apparently it wasn't the first complaint about him and I even asked the gentleman behind me after he ordered, if he had the same issue because I over heard him saying something and looking like how I did. Sure enough, he also had complaints about his order and Derek. I ended up getting all my money back and some ice cream for us, all complimentary. I did make Kirstie aware that I will pay closer attention to their hours because when I was on Yelp it didn't say they were near closing time. I scream for ice cream! This place has many good specials on ice cream and frozen yogurt (froyo). They have a cone for less then $2 and trust me, it will fill you up! They also have ice cream cones with options such as one scoop and two scoops. I got he two scoop option and it was huge. Had to take two people to finish it! We've gone to this Braums for many years now, but lately, the service and food have gotten terrible. We live just a couple of miles from this Braums but now, due to the rude management at this store and the cold burgers and fries, we now go to the Braums on Hwy 78 near Firewheel in Garland (it's great). We went to the Murphy Braums over a week ago, ordered a #1 + a #10 and the order came out before we could set down at a table. Although suspicious, we tried the food and it was all room temperature and the fries tasted like they were cooked the day before. We threw most of it away and then ordered 2 soft yougert waffle cones and their yougert machine was not working. Here it is over a week later and their yougert machine is still broken. As I reported the cold food when ordering the yougert cones, they simply stared at us, so we left and went to Jack in the Box near by. Their food was hot and good. read more

Young man making a sundae had the ice cream less than 2 feet from his face, talking up a storm! Asked for the manager. He came up and I asked about facemask. Said they weren't required to wear mask. No fuss, plain and tastes ice cream! Nowadays there are so many overpriced, overhyped, overcomplicated ice cream shops. Braum's delivers every time the reliable and homestyle ice cream you know and love. Where else can you find a creamy cone for under $2?? There's no fancy marble slab but their flavors are timeless. The handspun mint chocolate chip milkshake is one of my favorites as well as the holiday seasonal Peppermint Chocolate Chip in a waffle cone. Love Braum's burgers and krinkle fries. Also excellent ice cream. You can also pick up a gallon of milk or half gallon of ice cream to take home. Many Texans love Whataburger but Braum's gets my money when I'm craving a burger. UPDATE: April 12, 2017 at supper time I went to Braum's Murphy with my wife and grandson. The crinkle fries were hot and tasty. My Bacon Cheeseburger was barely warm and the cheese wasn't melted. Love Braum's but this time they let me down. We've lived in the area for 10 years and have frequented this location since it's opening, however lately the food has been too salty. The last time I even got a burnt burger and I called to speak with the manager and wasn't even offer anything for the Terrible food except an apology and to come back next time. This will be my last visit to this location. After having started in the food industry and working in several kitchens customers have so many options that the least you can do is put your money where your mouth is.
