After a small number of quick email exchanges, we arrived at general terms. Then the fun began. We then waited weeks to get an updated estimate in writing. Sean would often take a week to respond to simple email requests. He promised information was coming. Never did. After almost a month, my wife emailed (she called first, but their voicemail was full...seriously?) and was responded to by Jesse, indicating that Sean had experienced a personal difficulty (totally understand...things happen), but that he would forward things the following day. The next day (which at this point made it a month of back and forth) Jesse emailed me to let me know that, due to his personal situation, Sean's crew was sidelined and Jesse's crew was already booked out for months and would be unable to do our job...at all...and they were "passing". All this after being apologized to literally 48 hours earlier and told by Jesse that he would get our updated estimate so we could move forward. Wow. People wonder why contractors have bad names in general. I had been ridiculously patient. I even would have understood if I had been told that, due to a personal issue, our job had to be pushed back a few weeks. However, to be intentionally strung along with multiple assurances over and over, only to then be dropped and left high and dry? Absolutely horrible. Jesse also apparently trolled my wife online (creepy and weird), found out she also has her own business, and made a veiled threat in an email that he hoped that she never experienced a personal challenge similar to Sean, became short staffed, and had people write negative reviews about her business. Again...wow. Stay away. Far away.

The area around the furnace room door needed some repair, and Martin replaced a few wooden boards surrounding it. He also painted the boards to match the original color. The lock to the front door had gone through a few mishaps, and was hanging by a thread. We asked Martin if he could replace it with a touch screen lock system. He took his time completing this task; we could not be any happier with our new system. He replaced the dining room chandelier, and fans in both the family room and bed room. As for outside the house, he was able to fix a few fence panels in the backyard. His work is neat, detailed, and he gets it done in a timely manner. We also want to point out that Martin is very punctual, always a bonus! His rates are very reasonably priced. He is friendly, professional, and overall has a nice demeanor. It was a bit of a tricky job due to the trim being arched, which meant it had to be traced and cut appropriately. I had the pleasure of contacting David, whom I asked several questions of how he would go about the process and I felt very comfortable with everything he walked through. He scheduled the work for a couple weeks out, text notifications let me know when he would be arriving and he was able to complete everything within a few hours. David cut the replacement beautifully using PVC so there is no maintenance on it in the future and caulked / sealed up all points of exposure to rain. He was very efficient, kind, and answered all the questions I had since I'm learning to do these kinds of tasks on my own. The pricing was extremely competitive and there's no question that I'll have David back pretty soon for other jobs around my home that I'm not comfortable handling. They were subcontracted by my contractor to do the framing and drywall for a basement job. The first 3 weeks and basically 90% of the work had been ok. The last 4 weeks have been nothing short of miserable. There was one area or ceiling left to finish which I paid the day they were allegedly done. That was a terrible move on my part because they were not done at all and left the ceiling an unfinished mess. This isn't even getting into the $6000 in overages they charged me for work that was agreed upon before the job even started. Yes, there was some additional work that was requested as the job progressed. But when I saw the newly updated quote with an additional $6k, I was shocked. But after some discussion and a few hundred dollars knocked off, I still paid them their balance only to be sitting here weeks later with an unfinished portion of ceiling and a newly noticed not plum window opening that Corwin tried to say they were not at fault then tried to blame their laborers. Now fast forward to late last week when I spoke to the owner who agreed to pay me back a sum of money that we agreed upon due to the issues at hand. I then get an email telling me their lawyer will reach out to me. What an absolute joke of a company and I will gladly take this to court. DO NOT USE CORWIN.
