Located in busy downtown Porto, I was expecting a bit more.
We sat down ready to order as we knew in advance what everyone wanted and since there was a bit of a rush to get back to work, we were fully prepared to be served quickly (which thankfully was the case). However, the service wasn't all too great as the server was a bit rude from the start and kept pushing us to order more that what we needed.
We were aware of how much each other eats and how much food was in each portion, which is a lot (good news there). But having the server telling us, not once, not twice, but a good amount of times, that we should have ordered more as each item on the menu was "individual portion" didn't sit well.
Not to mention, when you order, your food does not come in a plate but instead in several trays, for several servings - so you know it's gonna be quite a lot.
We ordered two picanhas, which were on the daily special and each came with 5 steaks of picanha, a tray of homemade fries, one with rice, and another with black beans. Again, a lot!
As for the food itself - it was juicy, and cooked just the way it's supposed to be. The fries were clearly cooked in olive oil, which I love, love, love. A friend however, complained that one of her pieces of picanha was cooked too much and was impossible to chew. So not sure about consistency in their quantity vs quality. Luckily for me, I got the yummy ones, it seems.
And since we were able to split two separate orders into four people, both our tummies and our wallets were satisfied. read more
