We had a great time. All the staff was wonderful. The Train cars are all taken care of very well. The concession booth is fair pricing. You get to relax and look at the landscape, will be even more beautiful in the fall with the leaves changing. I think it's important to remember it's not a Disneyland ride or a show off the Strip. If you have littles bring extra activities for them and enjoy the ride! read more

If you like being nostalgic or want to just enjoy a good , relaxing train ride, this is a nice activity. Do not expect great views and scenery. This ride south into Arkansas does not have that. I'm sure the ride in Autumn is breathtaking because of so many trees. I do not recommend this ride for young children or those who need activity to be happy. read more

We went on the Dinner Train. It include caesar salad, a choice of Prime Rib or chicken, fried potatoes and mixed vegetables and a marble type slice of cake. The trip itself was lovely and relaxing with a gentleman playing an accordion in a car. However, the left A LOT to be desired. The salad that was waiting for us at the table was withered and limp and very unappetizing, however the rolls were great. We chose the Prime Rib which was about 34% uncooked fat. The meat itself was definitely not of a high standard and was somewhat chewing. The potatoes were okay but the mixed vegetable were bland and mushy. The wining grace of the plate was the Au Jus. Dessert seemed like a discount store cake. We were later I formed that Golden Corral catered the meal. Very disappointed. The trip cost about $85 per person. Think twice about having the dinner and bring your own food! read more

This was my first time on a train, an experience I had been looking forward to my entire life. The conductors were extremely kind and even paused to chat, give us tips on how to enhance our experience, and take a picture. The narration was nice. There wasn't much that was very "scenic" however. It was mostly just trees and rocks. The first few minutes of the trip is just looking at completely run down trailer homes. Even when you do get to see something other than trees or rocks, it's very brief. That being said, it was still fun! Wish it was closer to $15 a person and not $30. read more

This is a nice train ride I believe that it could cost a little less because it really does nothing but go out about an hour to Arkansas and then returns. There is a a guy that tells you about a few things along the way but it could be better. Pull off somewhere let people get out and see the area or don't charge people with young children let children ride for $5 with a parent this is really a kids ride anyway. This ride is nothing like the train ride to the Grand Canyon they at least had a pretend train robbery show for the children and the young at heart adults. That's train could do the same thing!! Do not waste your time and money on this non-scenic train! We took the train at the end of September for our anniversary, the dinner train and we were seated in the dome. The food was okay, not what we ordered but the scenic ride was horrible. We went toward Reed Spring and our scenic trip included the charcoal plant, green leave on trees with slightly hidden abandoned shams and mobile homes. Our neighborhood is more scenic than that ride. That horrible disappointing train ride will be etched in our minds forever as the worst anniversary we ever had! read more

This was the WORST experience in Branson... the name says Branson senic railway but there was nothing whatsoever senic about the ride. You basically went from point A to point B and saw NOTHING except a few shrubs and trees on the west side and nothing but a wall of rocks on the east side. And when you went through the 2 tunnels you saw nothing but darkness. I would not recommend this railway experience to anyone unless you want to fall asleep. Very nice peaceful train ride. The countryside views were great. Sat in the dome car and enjoyed the ride with my family. This is just a rail car ride in the Ozark region of Missouri and Arkansas so don't expect major excitement but it's something you can always remember and say you did. We got to ride on an restored antique train today! Folks, it ain't an amusement ride! Riding the Branson Scenic Railway is a way to step into the past. It's low on the exciting meter, but we didn't expect it to be anything but a pleasant ride through the countryside. Because we are in the Ozarks, the train runs through corridors of stacked rock. If you sit on the side of the train furthest from the station, you'll see less rock and more trees. And trees is what you'll see - don't take this train if you are looking for wide vistas. If you buy your tickets online, ahead of time, you get on the train earlier than those who buy the day of. That gives you a choice of cars and those observation domes, where seating is limited. Once everyone is seated you can check the other cars for better seating, if you like. The windows on our car were squeaky clean. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They played a nice selection of big band music and the restroom was clean. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks are offered in the cafe car. All in all, a nice way to have lunch, while enjoying a quiet, relaxing ride. They take AAA. read more

Ok. So let's start with the wait. This train can seat 200 people. We waited outside and there are maybe 6 benches for like 12 people to sit. The area is not too big so very crowded for those standing and waiting. Imagine waiting here in this area at 90F or hotter. The train itself is very nice as well as the staff. No complaints there. But the trip is 2 hours of time you will not get back. They call it "scenic" but you cannot see anything. Most of the trip goes down the line where trees and overgrowth are so dense you see very little of the area. It is one hour in one direction and then stops and goes back the same route in reverse. If you want to relax and experience a train ride it is fine, but don't expect to see any of the "scenic" area you were expecting. My recommendations to the business... Get some trees along the route cut down. Provide entertainment in the cars. Williams, Arizona would be a great act to follow. Lastly, provide more seating in the waiting area. Maybe consider shade covering over the train loading area to let people sit and wait there too. I would also add water misters for hot days. read more

It's just as one would expect from a tourist railway. Not fast, but over an hour and a half ride through trees, rocks, creeks, and lots of nature. There is air conditioning so don't believe the reviews that say there isn't. Also, go toward the farthest point of the train for the comfiest seats - no one told us that until we were going already. read more

Took the dinner train. There is no scenery. Rock walls and up close and personal trees the entire way. The prime rib had to be returned because you couldn't chew it, but they graciously gave us chicken which was moist and delicious. The salad was good but the dessert was much too sweet. My husband and I went on the Branson Scenic Railway and were completely disappointed. There was nothing scenic about it. It went along the junkiest route we had ever seen. It looked as though everyone dumped all their old stoves, refrigerators, trash and everything else you could think of! Relaxing: that's what this activity has to offer. Calm, serene, a chance to unwind, breathe, maybe chat with fellow travelers. If you are an adrenaline junky this will not be enjoyable for you. There's no Cell service. If you abhor boredom don't frustrate yourself. Please Leave that space open for those who appreciate the quiet moments of life. Frosted windows prevented me from seeing a clean window! The railway cart had cold air blowing out the vents. Mind you it's April 1st with 48 degree outside! (I was cold for 2 hrs riding this train) My 8 yr old love trains; he was bored because the train only goes 25mph. All you see is trees- nothing unique or cool about this $94 overpriced tourist ripoff! The music played in the speaker is annoying. We had a lot of fun on the train! Other reviews complain about it just being trees or whatever but that's kind of what the whole area is - trees. For my family, it was much less about what we were going to see and much more about the experience of the ride itself. We lucked out and got dome car seats and my whole family loved it! The staff was very friendly and it was a really neat experience for us. I don't think it's something we would repeat and do again, but it's totally worth doing at least once while you're in the area. read more

We looked forward to a SCENIC train ride through the Ozarks however, we just drove along the highway, through the forests. Nothing much to see, very disappointing however, the old train cars & the music playing from the 1940's was very nostalgic. I am cracking up over the reviews who say this was a waste of money and how all you see are rocks and trees. Um, you are taking a train ride through the MOUNTAINS; mountains are made up of rocks and trees. Anyway, my husband and I took a Saturday afternoon train ride and had a very nice time. The trip was narrated by an employee named Ron and he pleasantly pointed out different facts as the train ride commenced and when he wasn't narrating, music (like the kind you might hear while watching I Love Lucy) played over the speakers. Thankfully, the other folks sharing our train car were quiet and calm so we were able to have a quiet conversation while enjoying the ride and each other's company. A few tips, the last car on the train has the nicest seats - they all recline. Sit on the side of the train car that faces EAST (the side you board on) as that side had the majority of things that are pointed out. You cannot take food or drinks on board (unless you purchase them from their gift shop prior to boarding) and they will check your bag. There is a very small concessions area on the train (almost at the back near the car with the reclining seats) where snacks and drinks can be purchased and the prices are reasonable. After the ride, you can walk across the street to Branson Landing and enjoy all that the Landing has to offer. It can be a very nice day excursion in total. read more
