    Cabana option
    Yvonne O.

Water parks are a mixed bag for me. I don't swim, so I never go on the rides. Instead, we always rent a cabana where I camp out for the day and handle the food and beverage needs of everyone. Here, they make it really hard for you to rent one in advance. You can't do it online, unlike Water Country USA in VA. When we got there about 20 minutes after opening, all the premium ones were gone, so we got the next level down which still had the sitting area, loungers and tubes and television. They don't include towels or food (which was included at Water Country). That plus four refillable drink cups was over $300 - plus admission which was another $200. Add in food at another $100 and obligatory shirts or souvenirs and we had a $700 day! The food is also mixed. Good crinkle fries, nice selection of dippin dots, but dry chicken and slow service at the Taco place. There were a lot of staff out to help direct you, which was nice.

The water slides are great, the park is clean but they short-staff a lot of the rides so you'll end up waiting ridiculously long times in line. Not worth it to go on busy weekends. Also, ordered hot wings from the CiCi's in there and they were cold and tasted terrible.

    Empty. Park full!!

As a waterpark it is what it is. From a managers perspective it's driving me crazy!!! I'm sitting in the shade with all the other old men while our kids play. There has to be easily 1000 people here and almost none of them are spending money. When you go to get a drink they want you to spend $22 on a refillable cup and I've seen maybe 10 of them in use all day. When you refuse that they offer you a 20 ounce large for almost 4 dollars and oh yeah. No lids or straws, not even a drink carrier when I was buying for five. So the shortest lines here are in the drink spots. Who's the manager here? I've been sitting here for hours watching tens of thousands of dollars not being made so that a few people will spend $22 on refillable cup. And then there are the $75-$300 cabanas where 2% of them are being used. The other ones are setting empty. Hard to watch as a capitalist and a businessman. This place is passing up millions of dollars. Maybe it's a tax write off for SilverDollarCity? This would be a great idea for a reality TV show. Businessman go around secretly and see how much more money they can make a business :-)

    Biggest slides!

Fun for all ages but have water shoes or slides. The concrete is SUPER hot in some areas. That's why it gets a 4. More sprinklers needed!!

Great for kids but very expensive. Cabanas are ridiculously expensive. Food prices are typical for a tourist destination.

But, I can't believe how far $250 a night got us in this resort. The suite was incredible clean and spacious. Everything seemed relatively updated, maintained, and very clean. The resort grounds were immaculate. The lodge/style resort rooms looked great. The adult-ish pool area looks much better than the online pictures. In fact, we commented that this was the one resort we've ever stayed in where the pictures didn't do the room and grounds justice. Most places filter and photoshop the crap out of their pictures. The staff and clientele were polite and friendly. The strip is nearby, if tourist traps are your thing, but the resort feels secluded. The only thing I can think to comment on is that there really isn't a view, which is no big deal. I think that's why it's priced slightly lower than the other resorts that have views. The grounds are nice enough to look at and the aforementioned aspects are more important. We'd stay here again. It was a nice surprise.

As far as the rooms, they are outdated, horribly uncomfortable beds, the shower was pitiful as far as water pressure and ease of use. The maintenance man had to come show us how to turn it on, as well as others staying in the same building. They don't do any housekeeping during your stay, but following a couple of phone calls, you can get any additional items needed. After checking in, you get a parking pass, and then comes the push for "if you go to this meeting, I'll give you $160, and don't worry it's not a time share, it's a vacation club, and they have a place for your children to go while your in the meeting" NO THANKS! There are shows happening all day long, from live music and bluegrass to comedy and saloon-style performances. Depending on the season, there are also special productions throughout the park. It's nice to be able to sit down, take a break, and still feel like you're part of the experience. And since the shows are included with admission, it adds a lot of value to your visit. It's also a great spot if you have younger kids. There is plenty for them to do beyond just rides, including play areas, interactive attractions, and even a train ride. It's not one of those parks where little kids are limited. They can stay busy all day. The whole park has a really cool 1880s theme and is honestly one of the most beautiful theme parks I've been to. Between the shops, craftsmen, and scenery, it feels more like an experience than just rides. That said, be ready for a lot of walking. This park is very hilly and you will feel it by the end of the day. Lines can also get long during busy times. Overall, it's a really unique place with a ton to do for all ages. Between the shows, rides, and kid-friendly activities, you can easily spend a full day here and still not see everything.

There is a mobile ordering option for some places through the app that helped us a lot with the long lines. - Very friendly and helpful employees. - Easy to get to and navigate the park. - Smaller attractions like Grandpa's mansion were fun! - the APP is sooo helpful! - kiddo loved the knife shop and personal rings booth. The proprietors were so nice! - PowderKeg and TimeTraveler rides were awesome. Wish would could have done more than one! Cons: - We went during a weekend when people believed (as advertised) it was the last Rudolph train parade which made it especially chaotic. That was later changed in a way but it made this weekend before Christmas majorly bad. Kiddo was mad about the odd advertising after we heard a shop owner talking about a last minute meeting. - Better locker placement. We based this on Dollywood where there was a locker before each ride but SDC has them in certain "villages" which takes time to navigate. Bc of this we barely used the locker we bought - instead there are cubbies at each ride that work out better. - The kid rides area (Fireman's village or other) is smack in the middle of the route between spaces which made travel from ride to ride difficult. - During Xmas it is hectic, especially the weekend before. The whole operation is overwrought with people and it gets difficult to move, buy food, go on rides (we waited 2 hours for time traveler and saw on the app other rides were just as long). We also waiting 45 minutes for a funnel. - our personal note - we found a decent spot for the parade and got kicked out right before it started, by security. No signage - just you can't be in this open space (it was the mulch around the stage near the big Xmas tree) We left, parade be damned - which was when a lot of people were actually leaving. - outlaw ride was closed one of the biggest nights. - overpriced junk - my kiddo recognized a 'carved bear' from another theme park and when we looked at it close it was made in the Philippines. There are some good options for craftsman here but double check before paying for high priced inports. Key notes: - we knew we would be at the park into the night so we paid the $65 to get awesome parking up front. That turned out to be a great decision because as the masses were leaving we got out in 10 mins. I know that may seem silly but it as a priority for me and I know not everyone. For $20 you can get closer parking. They do have trolleys for free parking and they were running regularly. Make the decision that is best for you! - if they have the time traveler pass available - get it if you can. We spent so much time in line to watch the add on payers jump up and get more out of their time. At this park, there are only so many awesome rides. The limitations on the pass are far exceeded by the wasted time. This is only important if you are here for the rides and not just exploring. Notes: - the ground had paint stamps to help you navigate but they were worn out and made it hard. - there are shops to warm up in but as Colorado people who have seen a thing or two maybe warming stations with heaters or warming barrels like they do at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo would be good. Most people love a good wood fire smell. Overall - plan accordingly. We personally would not recommend the weekend before Xmas (we figured people would be traveling and that was a bad assumption). Know what your interest are - if you want to do shopping then that would be fine. If you want rides, maybe look at different dates you want to go.

Decent kitchen with all dishes and hunts to cook with. Full size fridge/stove/microwave and dishwasher. The loft area had 2 singles plus a bunk bed which was perfect for the kids space. Super cute built in cubbies and shelves. Really a very cozy place to stay. The property has 2 pools. Both are way smaller than the pictures show. The "big" pool is lovely. Deck with shade trees overhanging it, lots of toys available for the kids to play with. Loungers and patio tables. Just big enough for 3 or so families to be in. After that it gets super crowded. Luckily we had it to ourselves many times - and spent hours in there in the hottest part of the day. The 2nd pool at the back of the property is tiny - and no shade. So blazing hot in the summer. No fun. The trail and creek are super cute. This is very close to the Branson strip - but once you are on the property you'd never know it. Things that need improving: -- It would be nice to provide a BBQ grilling area for each cabin. There were a few communal BBQ pits around - but none in a state we'd want to use. -- the rule of no food or drink on the pool deck is ridiculous. In the pool sure. But the deck is there to relax on. -- We wished they had recycling on site. They pick up garbage daily - but they don't recycle at all. -- our 2 story cabin was really warm on the upper floor. It could really have used a window AC unit in it for the height of summer. The ceiling fans helped a bit, but it was really hot up there right at the kids bedtimes. Overall we would totally recommend it as an affordable place to stay that didn't feel cheap in the slightest.

Also, there's a really cute marmot and a cute skunk on property too. Outwardly, the places look nice, but once you look at the details, you realize how run down this place really is. We are owners and needed to spend points as we couldn't roll them over nor save them. I wonder exactly where my HOA is going to, but it's definitely NOT this property. We ended up in a 2 bedroom cottage after issues with 2 studios in their Lakeside building (see my review in the Lakeside property). The cottage seemed super nice when we first got in here after our studio debacle, but you can see there are water leaks, mismatched ceiling paint (prob a fix to a water leak), AC broke after 2 days when it's been 95+ outside, a broken lamp in the downstairs bedroom, exterior lock not put on correctly, and deep gouges in the floor. Most of the cottages have cracked siding and missing roof shingles (prob the reason for water leaks). We looked up staying here out of pocket and realized that staying a week in a 2 bedroom cottage costs $100 more for the week than our HOA for 75k points. Also, 75k points gets you a week in a 2 bedroom cottage in Jan/Feb. For Aug, you can only get the studio in their dilapidated building. The hot tub at the lighthouse is cooler than Table Rock Lake and about the temperature of the pool. The main pool by check in seems nicer and is great for kids. One of the doors in women's restroom is missing from the stall and the steel in the men's restroom is rusted. Not sure how hard it is to get replacements. One nice thing is that it's away from the center of Branson so it's quiet. Stay away from this property and Capital Vacations. Our AC stopped working and we dealt with it as it was 73° so not unbearable, but on our last day, it was 86°. We told the front desk and asked for a portable AC, which they said they only had a fan. The AC tech came out and when pulling the breaker to work on it properly, the breaker box became separated from the siding. Unfortunately for us, the AC wasn't fixed but the tech left a box fan. The box fan was NOT going to work for the 86° temp so we decided to pack up and check out. Michelle was super apologetic at the desk and offered to move us to another unit, but we didn't think it was worth it since it was going to be less than 6 hours. After being home for a few hours, 11 hrs away, I received a call from Carla checking up on our AC complaint and wondering if our unit had cooled down. WHAT?? I had to tell her that we checked out last night. This place doesn't know which way is up.

The road that you need to walk on doesn't have a sidewalk, path, or shoulder. It has rolling hills and curves. Making a left hand turn onto it can be challenging. I think walking along it would be a bit death-defying. Check in. We were on the road for about 11 hours with breaks. After you get your room assigned, you were told to go to a little room to get your parking pass. This is where they want to sell you a timeshare. I don't know about you, but the first thing I think about after driving 11 hours is buying a timeshare. I told the first person that we didn't have any interest in it. She brought in another guy I told him we didn't have any interest. He said they were different and that they had a written guarantee not to pressure you. I told him that I've already said no to you and someone else and we're still going. He said well, I had to dry. You would think this would be the end of it. However, I received a call Monday, Tuesday, and two calls on Wednesday. They use the premise of we're just checking up on your visit to see if you have everything or on Wednesday they wanted to know when we were going to check out. The checkout day is Sunday. I had to go visit their office again to tell them that I wasn't interested and to stop calling me. Thankfully, the calls stopped. Housekeeping and maintenance. The room has a pull out couch for sleeping. We tried to find the sheets for it but we're unable to locate them. I requested sheets and never received any. There is a fitness center and pool. There are towels in the fitness center, but not in the pool area. We were told that our towels for the pool were on top of the dryer. There were none. There was no dishwashing soap. We are caught in a rainstorm. When we used the dryer for some of our things, there was a loud banging sound. The lint trap and its cover had come loose or were loose. I tried to put it back together and was unable to. Toilet number one probably needs a flapper valve. It seems to randomly run. Toilet number two is loose and rocks when you're sitting on it. If you use the shower, make sure you put a towel on the door. The towel rack is located on the wall. If you open the shower door, you will cover up the towel rack. Which means you have to get completely out of the way of the shower door and close it to access the towels. Part of the door sweep on the front door is missing, leaving a fairly large hole. You can see the sun coming through. On day one when we arrived home we saw ants coming in through the hole. On day two we noticed that there were ants on the kitchen counter. We called maintenance. They sent two guys to spray. They sprayed from the doorway all the way along the carpet, approximately 15 feet over the countertop around the dishwasher and around our paper towels, paper plates, and paper bowls. this left us with puddles of ant poison and ant debris. We were left with the cleanup of our kitchen and floors. We were also concerned about ingesting some of the poison. It seems logical that you would move guests out of a room, take care of the problem, and clean up.

I didn't think I would like doing laundry on vacation, but I didn't mind and it came in handy to wash towels and bathing suits daily 3. Nice room sizes (except one) 4. Bathrooms were nice 5. Kitchen was nice, had everything we needed. We only cooked dinner there once though, so I'm not sure if anything essential was missing to cook more. 5. Pool area was very nice. If you have little kids, they'd love spending all day out there. 3 pools, water fall area, lazy river, splash pad, one slide, 3 hot tubs. Cons: 1. There were no blinds or curtains on the huge back windows. That's fine during the day I guess, but sitting in a lit room at night was not fun. Anyone could see in. I didn't like that at all. 2. We had to buy toilet paper, there was only 3 rolls provided for 5 days. And no tissues or paper towels. 3. For the most part it was clean. But walking on the floors, and then looking at your bare feet, there was dirt. Someone's underwear was left next to the washing machine, and my husband found some items underneath the dressers. Cobwebs everywhere. It feels like just a light clean was done between guests, not a deep clean. Not worth the money it cost. 4. The 3rd bedroom was basically a closet. Room for bunk beds and that's it. No TV, no dresser, no closet. 5. All of the hot tubs were a lukewarm temperature. And the jets didn't work on the 2 outdoor ones. I did email the owner about that thinking she might not have known, but honestly that is something that should be checked daily. Also the hot tub turned our fingernails and toenails blue/ green. I have no idea what was it that water, but that's never happened in my entire life. 6. The pool water was freezing. That probably wouldn't bother kids too much, but as an adult it would be nice for the water to be at least 75-78ish. 7. There were only 6 towels provided for 4 guests, I just think that maybe 2-3 per guest would be better. 8. Very very minimal dish soap. If we had cooked breakfast lunch and dinner daily, we would've ran out on day 2. 9. Laundry Detergent pods were provided, but those were scented so we had to buy our own. 10. The water temp in the showers could've been better. It got hot, but not as hot as I would like. Also the water left a white film on all of our bodies. My daughter felt like she couldn't get clean all week, her hair felt like straw. This could be a problem in the whole town though, I don't know what kind of water we were washing with. 11. Our grill did not work 12. We only had people staying above us for 2 out of 5 nights. And thank God for that because the insulation was awful, and it was so loud. 13. Beds and pillows were too stiff. I realize I have more cons than pros, but we really did enjoy this place, better than a hotel. I would stay here again. I just think that with the price it cost, everything should be included. I shouldn't have to purchase toilet paper and dish soap and paper towels, unless we used an excessive amount. Which we didn't.
