My son was an out of state college student at UD. His car stopped running while driving and we had it towed to Brandywine on a local recommendation. I spoke to both Josh and Dan several times and felt they were thorough and honest about the needed repairs and the age/mileage of the car. Unfortunately the car was not able to be saved but they found the best local price for scrapping, checked with local customers to see if anyone had a car for sale and gave us local recommendations for another car. LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The management does not care about their customers. Brought my car in for repairs (shop was highly recommended to me) a couple of weeks ago. After a couple of hours, Josh, (owner's son) called and said the price for repairs was $525.00. An hour and a half later, he called, the price is now $700.00. Little over an hour later, another call; car is finished, price is now $838.00. They took it upon themselves to do extra work without notifying me. Needless to say, I was not happy. Couple days later, check engine light came on. Called, Josh said it was nothing they did. Brought the car back, Josh ran and hid. Owner stated I had 2 years to next inspection, so no big deal, no offer to fix. Week later, car started acting up, had to bring it back to get corrected. No apologies, no incentives to come back. Absolute horrible people, stay the hell away from these lowlifes! read more

We've taken both our 2003 Jetta and 2010 Fusion to Brandywine. We've tried dealer and some of the "chain" automotive stores. Nothing compares to the service we receive at Brandywine. I'm a single mom and I've taken my car, and both my kids' cars, to Brandywine Auto for years. Over the years that has been 6 different cars including Audi, Toyota, Chevy. I can't recommend them highly enough. They diagnose correctly and if you need multiple things done, prioritize the items for you. There are never any surprises. They don't start on a job and find something else is wrong. The price is what they quote it to be. When they complete a job we have never had to bring a car back for that issue--after they work on a car, it is fixed. You probably need to make an appointment, they are popular. They have helped me and my kids in many car emergencies. Marty and Josh have the best example of what a service-oriented, family-run, friendly neighborhood business should look like. read more

Can't believe these people had the nerve to send me a text asking me about my car. I spent over $800 for repairs during my first visit. Within a few days, the check engine light came on. Marty; the boss, stated that I had 2 years to get it fixed, thats when my registration expires. Never offered to fix the problem. After one week, the $800 repair malfunctioned and needed further repair. They fixed it. Marty also advised me the right front wheel bearing needed replacement, again, no offer to repair it. Hey Marty, it was repaired and it was the left bearing, not the right. So much for your expert analysis. Now, you send me a text asking me about my car. How dare you!? You had a chance to make things right, but chose not to. So, you and your boy lose my number and never, ever contact me again. How someone can highly recommend you is beyond me. Don't bother reading the testimonies on their web site, they delete the negative ones. read more

Of three bids that I collected including Martin Honda, Branywine was the most expensive. But because their location was convenient for me and their reviews seem to support superior workmanship, I thought I would give them a try. I had a complete brake job performed and overall their work seemed exceptable except at some point when they flushed the brake line they damaged the fluid level sensor. The warning light is now illuminated and because of this the anti lock feature is not functioning. When I picked the car up the mechanic mentioned the light being on and said it would probably go out in time because there was probably just some sediment lodged in the sensor. Two months pasted and the light is still on. I returned to Brandywine and spoke with the Marty, the owner. He told me the light was on when I dropped off the car (reading from his computer). I told him he was mistaken. He explained the car had come in with low fluid and the light would have had to be on. I again explained that I had dropped the car off and had witnessed the light being off and I checked with my daughter who drives the car regularly who also confirmed the light not being on. The cost to repair this issue is about $500. The fluid level sensor was functioning properly when I dropped it off and the mechanic was aware of this fact and that it was not functioning after they repaired the brakes. When you pay a premium you expect quality work and honesty, I believe I received neither at Brandywine. read more
