To my surprise I was charged $400 each for BMW Headlights. I found a set of both headlights on Amazon for $225 later. I spent a total of $800 and was reminded that it was a BMW. The Customer Service was great but the overpricing has ruined my entire experience and depleted some of my savings. Don't let this happen to you. Do your own research before purchasing. I went in recently to get a new taillight as mine was broken . i had a repair order to get it fixed . I had dealt with them before and no issues but this time they sold me a taillight that didn't work so I didn't pass when I went to the police department with my work order . I had 2 other people look at it and they said the wiring was shot So a friend has a handyman that looked at it and we ordered. a new one from amazon . I called Brandywine auto for a return . They kinda gave me me a hard time but told me to come in . So I drove the hour back down the road . Thry still questioned it but ulti gave me a refund for the part not the labor . I asked about installing the new one since it was their mistake and they wanted. to charge me 120.00 .So for a 15 min job . My housemates boyfriend installed it and yup 15 min . He lied to my both times about the axle being new. When I arrived to pick up my part it was used. He knew that he could not order a new axle. Mari Austin, sales/customer service representative is very vague & unprofessional. Made me wait 2 hours thinking I was about to get a part. Only to make me stay pass closing time. Then I walk up to the last 2 workers (which was her and her short fragile husband) that are leaving only to be shouted at & threaten by saying they was going to call the cops on me. I, very confused just wanted an explanation while her husband was yelling at me behind lock doors. Finally got them to talk only to blame me for the miscommunication. Seriously? I went to Brandywine to pull some parts for a car. I should have seen what was coming when I noticed there were no customers there, NOT ONE PERSON. The nasty @ss counter guy charged me $2.00 to enter the yard, and then did not tell me where the fords were. I assumed I could figure it out on my own. Went into the yard. None of the cars were in specific groups, no Ford section, no Chevy section, etc. Just a bunch of cars all mixed up. I finally asked a yard guy, he told me that the guy up front should have told me where the fords were and then drove on. After looking for a half hour I gave up. This used to be a first class operation...30 years ago. By the way I'm a mechanic, and I know my way around a salvage yard. In my opinion this is not a salvage yard any more, it's a junk yard. I purchased a used transmission from these guy's for $250.. Installed the new transmission and relearn..Only to have the same issue upon further diagnosis I discovered it was the transmission shift solenoid..So I called and told them about it. I was asked did they install it.When informed no they said they needed a diagnosis from a Tech on the shops letter head..I informed Phillip that I was a tech with over 15years. So he told me to get a letter using company letter head and send it in..Needless to say they did not honor this and accused me of downloading the letter head of the Internet..When asked what more could I do.I was accused of being rude and told I had to purchase a new transmission..I have never been so rudely handled by a company in all my years as a tech..They made me feel like I should've attached a resume to a letter they asked me to give them...Very rude and very unprofessional establishment..That actually sells junk not savage read more

I had my windshield replaced at Brandywine Auto today. It cost $165 for a new windshield and $150 for the labor. This was less than I was quoted at another shop. I purchased a brand new windshield which they ordered for me. They also have a pick and pay lot for used parts (I didn't venture over to that side). I paid for the windshield last week and it took one day to arrive. I came in today to have it installed and it took less than an hour. The customer service was good. I have a 2018 Ford Expedition and I made a huge mistake and blew the engine up, I went to the dealer naturally and the price was astronomical 14k please note I did and do have a service agreement and warranty BUT it was my fault I could have lied but the mistake was clearly my fault. So let's get to the review my wife and friends were advising me to call Brandywine I am glad I did they found me an engine with 1900 miles on it and installed my brakes and turbos for less than half of what anyone else and they did a great job, Phillip Pallo was excellent and Laurie and Jeff in the installation center were excellent and honest they all were honest and fair. read more

After I paid my two dollars to enter the yard, I found out that Brandywine pulls all the motors, transmissions, and pretty much anything in the engine bay before the car is put out on the yard. Tried to charge me $400 for a part that was advertised for 85 Tried for three days to call. They would answer and is soon as I spoke they would put me on hold for five or 10 minutes. When I told him the website had listed on it the part was in stock at this location, his comment to me was "I already told you it is not in stock". Hmmmmm... somehow I felt like my kindergarten teacher was trying to scold me. And I really have to ask a question here, does one have to be this rude to work in the used auto parts industry??? The worst junkyard in the area. I'm a shop owner and I buy from Chuck's all the way in York Pa to M&M in Stafford and a few places further and closer to the DMV. The customer service at Brandywine is horrible. The person I dealt with Philip P@llo at the brandywine location is a pure jackazz. First they missed the deadline on pulling the part then they gave me a wrong part THEN lied about me having to return it myself from the Bowie location to the Brandywine location and then wanted to charge me 25% even though they admit it was the wrong part because the interchange made the mistake. I was okay with the wrong part issue because it was a glitch but to try to charge me for they're issue is crazy. I would fly to the moon before I buy another part from them again. read more

DID NOT STAND BEHIND BAD TRANSMISSION THEY SOLD ME. I bought a used transmission for my 2006 Ford Explorer through Brandywine auto parts. Due to delays at the shop I was working with the transmission sat for several months uninstalled. Now this is a legit Exxon station with an ongoing relationship with Brandywine. Once installed the transmission sent error codes like a Christmas tree. I had the vehicle towed to another shop to make certain it was not install error. Same codes, tranny no good. So I spoke with MARK the manager and he said the tranny had only a 30 day warranty. Now mind you we had three service stations corroborating the fact that the transmission was bad, and had only just been installed. The trans was bad from day one, and instead of standing behind his product, and providing a new one, Mark stonewalled me and stood behind his short warranty. His scrap iron transmission cost me $750, plus the install cost, $1000, plus towing fees $120 plus rebuilding his worthless transmission, another $1200.00 He could have done the right thing and seen that his transmission was junk from day one, but he screwed me with the short warranty clause. Their pricing is excellent but their website is useless. It says that you can place a request online and someone will get back to you in 24 hours. THEY NEVER DO! They should just remove that part from the website to stop annoying potential customers. Totally useless! Then when I called the yard asking about a bumper, the male who answered said, "I'm busy right now. We have all kinds of parts, you will just have to come check for your self" and hung up on me. I realize that they can't keep track of every nut a bolt from a used vehicle.... but a bumper? Used to love going to Brandywine to get parts for my Jeeps. They have a lot of selection across many lots... However - don't even try calling to ask a question about parts, inventory etc!! They answer the phone "hello, Brandywine please hold, thank you!" Click! Then you will wait forever to get someone on the phone. If they don't know they tell you to call the other yard and repeat the same process. You will be bounced back and forth, one word answers and that's if you are lucky enough to get someone to even talk to. Unlike Harry's u Pull it, Brandywine doesn't have a good, easy to use inventory of their cars online. That's probably why you can never talk to anyone because people are calling in to ask if they have this or that car. Come on, Brandywine! My "go to" guys. Lifesavers! I've done four major transplants and have purchased more than a few parts over the last 10 years or so from them. One engine and one transmission for a '96 BMW 7 series. The tranny was about 5 months ago. The engine was dropped in about 6 years ago and gave me "check engine" initially which prompted a visit to the dealer. Passport BMW lied and told me the engine was junk, had rodent damage/bent fly wheel, etc, and to junk the car. I called the Brandywine owner, Woody Meinhardt, directly to express my ire - feeling duped. He asked me to bring the car in to Bob and have it checked. That they'd take care of it if the dealer diagnosis was accurate. Bob put the car on a lift, flashlight in hand, and pointed out where none of what I was told was the case. His tech found out the issue was nothing more than bad valve gasket covers and boot plugs. They fixed it. Norminal charge. Problem solved. They even changed my power steering reservoir some years later at their Ft Washington SAVE MORE location which I think is now closed, for installations anyway. Two transmissions for a BMW '01, X5. The first one lasted about 7 years and this latest one was just dropped in last week. $1800 (including labor) beats the hell out of paying the dealer $6k+ for a brand new one. What impresses me more than anything is these guys have integrity. The latest tranny on the vehicle was bad and creating fault codes as diagnosed by my mechanic. Bob and John, GM and shop foreman respectively, took ownership of the problem... test drove the truck for a few days and agreed with the diagnosis. No pushback. Bob called and said they'd be replacing it, no charge, labor included. Mind you, this all happened outside of the 30 warranty window they offer. Very honorable considering the thing didn't start giving me problems until a month in. More ONLY issue with these guys is how long it takes. Because they stay busy, you're looking at roughly 3 weeks for major installation of the type I discuss. All four of my jobs came in around 17-19 days. Be prepared to rent a car for a while. My review is actually mostly for the INSTALLATION location @ 14105 Brandywine Rd, Brandywine, MD 20613 - which isn't listed on Yelp so I picked this one. Great option to buying new especially if you have a late model car like me. read more

While answering what seemed like a never-ending stream of calls, he was pleasant and able to direct me to the part for which I was searching. Then, there are the guys in the installation area. Even when a woman expressed her anger with not getting the answer that she wanted, the Brandywine representative never waivered in his professionalism. Additionally, while I waited for the installation of a car part, the guys consistently provided great customer service to the many people who entered the facility. They even joked around with customers a bit to lighten the mood while people waited for service. And equally important, the cost was GREAT!!! Instead, I requested a refund. And, had my original part rebuilt. I was told I'd get a refund. I returned the part. Got no refund. And was told that the part didn't come from Brandywine. Wow!!!! Today I called Brandywine Auto Parts and spoke with a Alexander Lewis. My issue was I needed a transmission estimate for a 2009 ford flex. Mr. Lewis researched my request and provided me with a really good estimate. He assisted me with the value of replacing the transmission in my current vehicle and how transmissions work. I got off the phone pleased. Then, about 20 minutes later, Mr. Lewis called me back and informed me he found a cheaper transmission!!!! Wow, what service. I had not thought of using a salvage yard for the replacement. Brandywine was recommended by a co-worker who had a similar experience. Brandywine rocks and I will be telling everybody I know.
