We could get phone service in the area, so the gas station order let us use his phone many times over the next several hours, as we waited forever AAA to come tow us out (AAA mistakenly first sent the tow truck to NH instead of VT). We felt vulnerable since we're 2 moms, traveling with young kids, stranded out of state, so we were especially grateful for this generous gas station owner's kindness. He kept the station open 2 hours longer than regular hours, so that we could wait in a safe place with access to a phone. The station's mini-mart had a good selection of reasonably priced snacks and drinks and delicious soft serve ice cream.

During this visit, I noticed the Chester Chicken restaurant inside the store. The food display was visually appealing, and the aroma of freshly prepared fried chicken was especially inviting. As my order was being prepared, I browsed the store and purchased a couple of Celsius beverages and a bag of Cheetos. The chicken biscuit was freshly made and provided a satisfying, flavorful meal that was just enough to curb my hunger. Overall, it was a pleasant and convenient stop during my trip.

I don't understand how this doesn't have thousands of positive reviews. What if I told you that between Boston and Middlebury, VT you can find a gas station with delicious sandwiches? I told my wife that, and she had 0 interest in trying them. But then she did, and immediately her mind changed. We stop on the way up and back on any trip to Vermont. It's 2 hours from Boston, and about an hour and a half from Middlebury, so it's the perfect spot for an off-highway meal. Any trip to Vermont isn't complete without at least one of these sandwiches - and if we have to skip, it's always with the promise that next time we will make sure to stop. I'm not going to say that these sandwiches are the best in the world. They're not made with impeccable ingredients, locally-sourced from farmers who care. No, what these sandwiches are are middle-of-the-country, happened-up, secret-back-deli sandwiches that will fill you quickly and happily. You're going to order your sandwich from someone who may be slightly annoyed that you're bothering them into making you a sandwich, but don't take that as a negative - they're still going to make you the same delicious sandwich every single time, without variance. You're going to be hesitant, but that's okay. Live a little and eat a gas station sandwich.

We did not have a good experience at this location. Stopped here for gas and coffee this morning…read morebut we also wanted to check the air in our tires. We are from CA so I went inside to grab a drink and ask them to turn on the air. Shelves were a little empty and I didn't find a drink I was interested in. Vibes were off as well. When I asked the staff they said it was $2 for air and then asked someone else who said it was $2.50. After filling up at the pump, it was actually $3 for the machine, which isn't a huge deal, but when I started putting air in I realized that the gauge was so rusted you couldn't read it. It also stopped when I was on the third tire. When I did get in and check the pressure, it hadn't changed at all. So we paid $6 for nothing. It was pretty annoying and I just can't recommend this place. Keep driving.

It doesn't matter if your vehicle needs wipers to pass inspections here, because it's not passing until it has them. For their honesty I am forever greatful!!
