Typically I would tell anyone who would listen, that Branchinelli's is one of the best Pizza spots on Long Island. As far as what you would can consider a "Great NY Slice" this place is a must try. If you know pizza, you know that consistency is not easy. Lately, Branchinelli's has been slacking and I can only attribute it to management, turnover and no one paying attention to the kids behind the counter. Whether it is missing items on take-out orders, or lately just rushing through the pie making motions. Two nights ago, we ordered two pies, only to arrive home and find two undercooked slop pies. Pepperoni was thrown on with carelessness with mounds of it all over the place and it was cooked line the pepperoni was an afterthought. The crust was under cooked and overall a soggy mess. This is my favorite place.... Slow it down people and pay attention to detail. Maintain pride and quality along with consistency. Grandma pie was yummy, but probably shouldn't eat more than one slice in a sitting because it did feel a bit heavy. Tried the spinach capenollini and was a little disappointed. I've been coming here since I was a little girl, well, the Hauppauge location. This was my first time here. This has become a favorite over the years for our family. Every trip I take up to New York, this is one of my 1st stops and 1 of my favorites. Their pizza is great but they have delicious Italian food as well. My favorite thing to order is the quattro pali, 2 balls of mozzarella and 2 meatballs. It's in the most delicious red sauce. I also enjoy getting the hot and cold salad, which is absolutely delicious with their lemon dressing. The Buffalo chicken pizza is a staple as well. I never knew they had tartufo so I was excited when I found out they had it on the menu as it's my favorite dessert. They also have the best Italian ices. Marco and Anthony were working on this busy Friday night, which is nice to see the owners behind the pizza making. "Branchinelli's" is a pizzeria-restaurant. Upon entering the establishment one is greeted by white walls, a retro counter and a chrome glass display on the pizzeria station. Both the restaurant and the pizzeria are spotless. Turning to the left, one enters the booth segment of the restaurant which is now encapsulated by sheets of plastic. Walking past the booths, one enters the table area of the restaurant. We were seated here, in an alcove. Although it was a Friday night, the wait was not long. Regrettably, the restaurant does not take reservations. The menu is not extensive, in my estimation a positive sign. The faire is strictly Italian. My wife ordered the "Spaghetti w/ Rapi" and my son's girlfriend ordered the "Tortellini Marinara." My son, daughter and I ordered a fresh mozzarella pie. As appetizers, we had an the calamari and fried zucchini. To drink, we there was a mixture of iced teas, a house Pinot and San Pellegrino mineral water. The appetizers were tasty. The calamari were firm but not overly cooked and the zucchini were crunchy but not overdone. Shortly after finishing the appetizers, the main entrees arrived. My wife's dish was enough for two. No complaints from that dish. Also, the Pinot blended nicely with the meal. My son's girlfriend liked her dinner very much. My daughter, my son and I dug into the fresh mozzarella pizza with gusto. The crust was cooked just enough to hold the cheese and sauce firmly in place. The mozzarella and the basil were fresh. Combined with the chunky marinara sauce the trio created an explosion of flavor with every bite. Originally, we all ordered "Tartufo" for dessert but they had run out so we settled for "Chocolate Lava Cake" - which came with fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream - and cannoli. The lava cake was heated and worked well with the ice cream. The table's consensus on the cannoli: all good. Honestly, I was not impressed with the cake. The cappuccino, on the other hand, was excellent! Hot, high thick froth and flavorful coffee. The price of the meal was reasonable but not inexpensive. The takeaways: 1. Excellent and hearty Italian food. 2. Excellent fresh Neapolitan pizza pie. 3. Attentive staff. 4. Dessert... okay. 5. Cappuccino is a must! 6. Ample parking. 7. Pricey but worth it! read more

The marinara sauce that accompanied them was light and flavorful. Hubby ordered the baked pasta Branchinelli, which was a rigatoni like pasta with sausage, mushrooms and a tomato sauce with melted mozzarella. It was an ample portion and it was served piping hot. He enjoyed it very much. I opted for the chicken bruschetta. Fried chicken cutlets topped with ripe tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella. The topping was very fresh and flavorful and the cutlets were crispy. It was a very large portion and I had to take some of it home. Whether eating in or during the chaos of picking up one of maybe over 50 a take out orders ( we live about 1/2 mile away) that we have bought since it opened.... the staff is very robotic and unfriendly, the counter staff is also lacks any emotion or eye contact .... negative aspect of the millenial workforce. However the real measure when you get past the service and people is the food. A LOT of pizza and italian competition in RP, MP, MS, SB etc They are not the best plain pie by about 5 places according to my "experts" (smile) However the buffalo chicken pizza has NO PEER and is stunning and tasty. Also their vegetable lazagna which they sadly only have on Friday and Saturday is worth the trip. While portions are large pound for pound 9f per entree per person its a bit pricey. I would prefer a less impressive pile of food in the teens $$ instead of having to take half my plate home for $26. Quality not quantity. And looking at Americas waistline we could use some restraint. (I get it from the business andn turn of the table per minute $$$ perspective.) Just saying expensive. read more

Went on a Thursday afternoon. At 2pm the place was packed. There was a bit of confusion because the guy behind the pizza counter told us to have a seat in the dining area, but there was no hostess or anything. Eventually the server noticed us and took our order. Very sweet young girl, got our order exactly correct and never missed refilling the drinks. She also seemed to be the only one there serving about 15+ tables. We gave her a good tip. A+ on service. Food was good. I guess I was expecting to be blown away based on reviews. But good. They brought a complimentary bread basket which had DELICIOUS focaccia (as well as regular bread). Soft, buttery, tomatoey, garlicky. Very tasty, especially if you're hungry while waiting for entrées. Baked whole clams- good. Reasonably priced. Served with a nice buttery sauce that you could mop up with that focaccia (if you had any left)! Grandma pie- great. Excellent crust, nice and fresh. Spaghetti with white clam sauce- good. Not the best I've had. No whole clams in the shell and I almost cracked a tooth on a piece of shell mixed into the sauce. That wasn't too great. Atmosphere- typical pizzeria front, restaurant behind.
