While I'm pretty loyal when it comes to seeing my barber, she was on vacation and I've been working…read moreso much lately this January month, also during the busy holiday season too. It was time to just go try out a new barbershop and get my hair trimmed. Using our handy dandy Yelp App, I looked up the nearest barbershop in the Seaport area without having to use public transportation or ride share services. Seaport Barbers was the nearest one with great reviews. I also did some research on their website for online booking. Made an appointment at 1pm with any barber who was available. Went in a little bit early just in case I got lost with Google Maps directions. Walked in and met Kevin, we quickly introduced ourselves and did a fast consultation and proceeded with my haircut. It took less than 20 minutes, got exactly what I needed with not a too high of a side fade, with good conversation at the same time. If you're in the Boston area and want a professional barber with 10 years of experience, he is your guy! There are also 5 other barbers available. Check out their website, Yelp or Instagram to see actual clients and customers haircuts to get an idea of what you may want!

I needed a haircut on vacation and this was closest to my BNB…read more I had to wear a hat for the rest of my trip. The barber (George?) - smelled funny - like he had an old fish sandwich in his pocket and hadn't bathed in days. He cut off way more hair than I asked. I just wanted trim, but he kept pulling out the clippers. I think he only knows how to do shorty buzz cuts, not how to cut hair. I can't believe I paid for this. But ultimately it's the vibe of this place that is most repelling. The men who work here are VULGAR!! So much misogyny and racism we're flying around the room, I thought I was in Mississippi in the 60's. I spent many days in Boston and only heard this gross rhetoric at this crappy crappy barber.

The place definitely smelled of weed which was a turn off. The haircut I got was decent. I would…read moreprobably not return again.

Called to check availability and was immediately met with a rude, short, and unhelpful response…read more The person who answered the phone had a snarky tone and zero interest in answering basic questions. I really miss the days when barbers took pride in customer service--when you felt welcomed, not brushed off. This whole "go to the website" routine feels like a way to overcharge for a mediocre, assembly-line haircut while pretending it's a luxury experience. I'm not interested in being treated like just another head on a conveyor belt. I hung up and made an appointment elsewhere--somewhere that still values actual service and a personal touch. Disappointing.

While visiting Boston for a conference, I needed to look my best before attending the main event…read more Faced with the challenge of securing a same-day appointment, I was relieved when Abdou graciously made room for me. Not only did he rescue me in a pinch, but his innate understanding of style truly shone through. The standout moment was when Abdou intuitively suggested a beard design that perfectly suited my face, a style that I'd long imagined but hadn't been able to achieve elsewhere. It's not just a haircut or beard trim; with Abdou, it's a master class in personal presentation. I don't visit Boston often, but next time I'm in town I'll be back for another trim.

He essentially shooed me out of the "shop" which, frankly, looked dirty ...just for asking if there was any availability that day. Luckily I found a barber shop in the Financial District and close to my hotel. This is not one of those pretty boy salons but an authentic old-school barbershop. I made an appointment with Carlos and the outcome could not have been better. He is a true professional barber with great skills in precision cutting. I walked out the door looking much more presentable than I did walking in. I will return. Tip: You will need to make an appointment, they are that popular. -- P.K.

**Joel is the Best Barber in Town!**…read more I've been going to Marlons for maybe 2 years, and I can honestly say, no one does it better than Joel! Every time I walk in, I'm greeted with a warm welcome and an attention to detail that sets him apart from the rest. Not only is Joel incredibly skilled, but he also takes the time to understand exactly what I'm looking for--whether it's a fresh fade, a classic cut, or something a bit more modern. I always leave feeling like a million bucks! Also the Reina brings a lot of talent to the shop for both men and women! My brother needed a better haircut than the military haircut he had and Reina did a great job! Joel and Reina truly go above and beyond to make sure each visit is top-notch. If you're looking for a barber who's passionate, professional, and consistently delivers, look no further! Highly recommend!

I do mean surgical--I'd trust him with a knife as much as I'd trust most hospital surgeons, and he never knicks and never misses a whisker. Definitely not a barber who gives the same haircut to everyone--he makes sure it's what looks best on you. Give Joel a try and you'll be glad you did. And ask about his hot towel technique--remarkably relaxing. I had no idea a hot towel on my face could make me almost take a nap, but somehow it drains off off a ton of stress.

I have never been disappointed in over two years and have had the best cuts in my life here. John relies mostly on scissors cuts, painstakingly taking care to make everything straight.
