Dave is excellent at what he does, fast too...highly reccomended. Otherwise they've got some good hair products read more

Called to check availability and was immediately met with a rude, short, and unhelpful response. The person who answered the phone had a snarky tone and zero interest in answering basic questions. I really miss the days when barbers took pride in customer service--when you felt welcomed, not brushed off. This whole "go to the website" routine feels like a way to overcharge for a mediocre, assembly-line haircut while pretending it's a luxury experience. I'm not interested in being treated like just another head on a conveyor belt. I hung up and made an appointment elsewhere--somewhere that still values actual service and a personal touch. Disappointing. read more

William is excellent. Vibe @ shop is always cool. Bonus that the music is always on-point. .

I've gone to almost all of the barbers in the shop and have had a good experience with all of them. However Noah stands out among all of them, and he goes above and beyond to make sure you leave with a good looking haircut. The vibe is good, nothing too much to say about it . read more

By far the best haircut I've ever had. Cool shop. William was a bro, but also professional, on time, and took his time with my haircut. This place will make you never go back to Super Cuts. 10/10! read more

Ryan killed it. No nonsense. Asked very few questions. Mostly about the way i like my haircut. Wanted to cut my hair and send me on my way(which is how i like it). I looked at him and trusted him with my cut immediately. Great vibe. Clean shop. Next time im in Boston i'll definitely go back. read more

Not a good hair cut and this guy was supposed to be a master. I asked for a tapered cut and he only did the back briefly. Frankly, i had a lot in my mind and only noticed the difference home. Wont go back, i would not recommend it to you, either. Oliger read more

I got a fabulous haircut and beard trim, very good treatment with steamed towels, shampoo. It was lengthy but worth the price. Friendly barber and staff. Thanks read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT book an appointment with "Roy" he was very rude and very unprofessional. And DO NOT PAY BEFORE YOU GET A HAIRCUT EVER. Especially nowadays with everything moving towards being online. Thank god I didn't pay online but was going to pay with cash. Especially if you are new client. As a first timer here you'd expect them to treat you with respect and be very welcoming, right? Nope. Straight up nonchalant. Doesn't even introduce his name or nothing. Before I even got to his chair he had an attitude. Body langue is very easy to read and tell. Must've not had his morning coffee. As I try to explain the hairstyle I want his responses are just one worded and the way he even responds is with an attitude. Felt very rushed with him and even checked up on his attitude to make sure he was good. His response was "I'm just trying to cut your hair I got a busy schedule " after that walked up and left. Nobody in the right mind would spend their money at a place where your barber is a a**hole especially cutting YOUR HAIR and trying a new style. Just overall very unfriendly, rude, unwelcoming experience. I'd never support a business or spend my hard working money on a place where you do NOT feel welcomed. Learn how to treat people with respect and something so simple goes a long way. read more

55 for about 15 minutes (scheduled for 45 minutes) Showed up a few minutes early as well. My first time there. Felt super rushed and the communication wasnt there. But it was a haircut. For the price and the time, it was not worth it for me read more

Very rigid booking policy. If you're late, you're out of luck entirely. Not exactly the kind of customer service that generates return business. read more

Ive had great experiences with other barbers in the past but will not be going back after this appointment. I booked with eddy and showed a picture with a low drop skin fade on the back and just a trim with some texture on the top. The top looked great but even after I specified that i needed the back to look great for a big event that night I left with a sharp jagged line. Not even CLOSE to a fade. Either he didn't listen or couldnt do it. I would much rather said hey fades arent my specialty but I can do this instead and I would have happily switched. I was not shown the back before I left and I understand why. Not worth the amount I paid. I dont usually write reviews but my friends reccomended after seeing my hair cut. I am so embarrassed and upset. read more

I was luckily able to make a relatively last minute appointment -- I had to employ some spontaneity because I was a little nervous about trying a barbershop instead of a salon and didn't want to psyche myself out. But the folks here are amazing at creating a comfortable environment. Ryan asked some good questions so even though I didn't know the terminology to describe exactly what I wanted, he still could get the information to create exactly the kind of look I wanted. A few days later I went out with friends and they all commented on how good the haircut was. One person even asked for the place and said they might be checking it out themselves soon. read more

When on the road, I am usually apprehensive to getting my hair cut in a different city. Shoutout to Nolan for keeping me fresh. Shoutout to the crew who just seem like righteous dudes. Highly suggested! read more

As I walked in I was met with an interesting hipster tattooed friendly beard guy atmosphere, I waited only a few minutes for my cut to start which was great. everything went well and I was finished in 20-25 minutes. The cut came out great , the guy followed my directions and didn't seem rushed to get me out quickly. Not knowing the price ahead of time, I go to the cash register thinking it'll be 20-25$, for a simple non complicated cut, and to my dismay I am told 40$! I have paid less than 20$ each cut to my previous barber for years, also I hear super cuts down the street is 20$ as well. So to me this place is just overpriced at double the market rate for a cut, for that reason alone I probably wouldn't go back. read more

I've been cutting my hair here for a couple months now. The guys all cut hair really well however I'm just so frustrated with how they manage the barbershop. They do not take appointments and so I always end up just saying first available barber to get out as soon as possible. I usually wait over an hour to get my hair cut and it gets on my nerves every time. The price for a basic cut has also increased to 35 dollars this new year. I don't mind paying that or even more just please implement an appointment system I don't like to waste so much time cutting my hair. read more

Bostonian Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

The barbers in this shop may seem Scary from the outside looking in but from the first chair to the last these are the kinda guys/ and gals as of late that pay attention and make you feel like more than a client. New clients and old are always welcome to just stop by and chat even if they aren't getting a great cut. All and all favorite place to get my hair cut and I don't go anywhere else. Everyone in the Fenway area should give these guys a chance to earn your repeat business, because the probably will read more

I only go to nolan, and this place for haircuts, great vibes , great staff and professional barbers!!

Billy is the best barber hands down! You're not going to get a better cut, plus he's very comedic. Keeps everyone laughing and going. Great spot, book ahead. read more

showed up late to my appointment and received an attitude and was disrespected by Roy...was charged full price(understandable) but taking the Tip that you didn't earn is garbage. thanks for making me feel bad for making an honest mistake, jerks, never going back read more

This place is hipster heaven. Went in with a couple of friends. The barber didn't listen to what I asked for. When I asked him to fix I, he said "sure I'll give you a second haircut." He made me feel like it as my fault that he gave a terrible haircut. I also had him trim my beard. It was uneven and and not at all what I asked for. Too short. On the plus side, they did offer me a shot of whisky. Which I guess if I drank enough of them, I wouldn't have noticed the terrible job. Over priced, mediocre. Save your money and walk a block to super cuts. read more

If you're looking for the real deal and great fade , this is your spot ! You don't always get what you pay for in life but if you go to David or his team members , you do . Unprofessional and unwelcoming to outsiders (if you know what I mean). The guy made it so clear he didn't want to cut my hair that I got out of the chair even before he started! I arrived before it opened and was the last of the first round of customers seated. While everyone else was getting going, the barber (he never bothered to introduce himself --shaved head, stocky, seated in second chair from window) was walking around the shop and getting set up, taking way longer than everyone else. No problem right? When he finally gets to me he's super unfriendly. Doesn't even introduce himself, sits me in the chair and immediately starts talking to his barber buddy about his vacation and some TV show he likes. Then goes over to some other waiting customer he knew about getting him a coffee, where he's getting the coffee, what kind of coffee he wants, etc. At this point over 20 minutes have gone by and feels like the guy is just stalling. When he finally turns his attention to me he asks me to sit up in the chair. Apparently it wasn't to his satisfaction so he leans over to me and says "why don't you show a little self-confidence." Huh? He then asks me how I want my hair cut. I show him a photo from my phone and say "more scissors than clipper please" which seems like a pretty normal thing to say to a barber. He immediately gets bent out of shape like I insulted him and repeatedly says that he does it his way and if I want to see someone else, I should. After he says it for the third time I ask him if HE would prefer that I see someone else. "Up to you buddy," he replies. At this point it's pretty clear that this guy just does not want to cut my hair. I also look around and realize that I don't look like most of the other customers (I'm often mistaken for Latino) and it slowly dawns on me what's going on so I get up to leave. Some other barber steps in and suggests that I come back in 20 minutes and he would cut my hair instead. As we're talking, bald barber is glaring at me and jawing to his buddy. Maybe the other barbers are perfectly nice and don't have a "problem" serving customers who don't look like them. I'm certainly never going back to find out. read more

Don't like giving bad reviews, but this unfortunately calls for it. Avoid getting Ryan as your barber at all costs. I've been paired with him a few times this year (I kept forgetting his name and didn't realize it's him who they gave me otherwise I would have re-booked w someone else), and every time I pay for a 30 minute haircut and am out of the chair in ~10 mins. He was even bragging to the barber next to him about how fast he goes through haircuts and how many he gets done in a day. No problem that he rushes, if the haircut was good, but it never is. Each time my sideburns are completely uneven, because he doesn't care enough to take a second to measure, and where the top of my head meets the sides of my head, my hair is janky and not blended at all. Have given him and the store the benefit of the doubt too many times where I can't do it again. read more

Typically I don't get haircuts on the expensive side but I work near this place and I had a special occasion. I've heard great things so I figured I'd give it a shot. Mike definitely doesn't get enough love on here. He is just as good as anybody in there if not better. I would recommend if you don't mind spending 30+ dollars for a cut. Comfortable store. Good guys. No complaints. Would recommend. PS: People are constantly calling and looking for appointments but they have none. Go early on a weekday if possible to avoid a line. read more

Started going to Bostonian a few months back, and I absolutely love the place. The barbers are enjoyable to talk to, there's great energy in there, and the haircut is always perfect. Got a cut this week while watching the Bruins game, nothing beats that. If you need a suggestion on a barber, Eddie is the man. Always pays attention to detail, and takes the time to make sure your haircut is perfect, every single time. You'll never get a lazy haircut out of Eddie, and I've been with him through 2 barbershops and for a couple years now. Place is top notch, give it a shot! read more

What a disaster of a set up. You cannot call and make an appointment so expect to wait for over and hour. My husband went on a Friday at 1pm and sat and waited till the point he finally just had to leave.I honestly do not know how they're able to maintain business by having people come and sit and wait for hours. It makes absolutely no sense. What a huge waster of our Friday. read more

A fine, traditional, barbershop is hard to come by. In a time where supercuts run rampant, it's amazing to find a place like this. I've had cuts from pretty much every guy in this place, as I leave it down to the wire before needing a trim. All are top notch. Nate Barnes is the coolest barber I've met and really can't say enough good things about him. Come here for the best damn cut around. read more

Probably had the best haircut I've ever gotten from this barber shop. However, prices are kinda crazy but I knew that going in. For a Gentleman's Cut expect $40 (not including tip). I felt like it was worth more towards $30. Overall though I can't complain, solid place if you're looking to get a nice haircut and if don't mind spending more than usual. read more

I've been here three times and I'm still figuring out my groove with this place. The gents are cheerful and can certainly cut. I've had amazing cuts, and okay ones but overtime I hope I can have a rapport that lends to the previous more than the latter. I think the charm and frustration is the lack of appointments. The wait can be variable and if you've got to get going, you sometimes have to take whoever is available versus the same person again. I don't, however, have any qualms about recommending the skill and professionalism of these barbers. Cut away! read more

One of the better barbershops I have been at. New location and at a perfect location. Fenway is right down the street, not a far walk from either the or more stop or Fenway stop on the green line. Very cozy, comfortable and super friendly environment. I have been following Bostonian barbershop on social media for awhile, however I have never been able to visit because the only location was in Whitman. The cut was nice, lots of attention to detail with the barber who I had the pleasure to work with. Will definitely come back for another cut! read more

I've gone to many barbers, but so far Bostonian Barber Shop is my favorite. The barbers are friendly and easy to talk to. David cut my hair and did an excellent job. He asked me some basic questions about how I'd like my hair cut and then proceeded without any difficulty. I've had many haircuts where the result is nothing like what I described, but not this one. David cut my hair exactly as I wanted. They are also in a very convenient location near Fenway. I'll definitely be returning for my future haircuts. read more

Pretty sure this is the best barber shop I've ever been too. Why? The most talented and passionate barbers in the city. Skillfull, stylish taste, and friendly. Some are even genuinely funny! They made me feel like a lifelong customer even though it was my first time and that's huge. The interior design is superb. My barber was telling me that they paid tens of thousands of dollars to get 1920's barber chairs professionally restored and boy do they look slick. They even have a genuine national cash register. But don't start thinking they are outdated in any way, they are totally modern and have some of the best products around. Highly recommend this place! read more

I told him I was growing the top out- he cut it all off. Also, one barber was making some pretty sexist comments at the other one. So... not a good time and it'll be 6 months for my hair to grow back. read more

Barber spent about half the time on my neckline and was so aggressive with the buzzer that my neck was irritated, red and even scrabbed in some spots because of the way he was using it. This was my second time here. Dave cut my hair and he did an amazing job. He really took his time to make sure it was even and perfect and I really appreciate it. I also enjoyed the atmosphere, the dudes who worked there were funny and it felt like Boston which is hard to find these days with how much the city is changing. Will definitely be back! read more

Flew in from California to watch Yankees vs Red Sox back in August. Was walking through the area and saw the shop decided I should get a cut they had a little bit of a wait but not too bad. Got a cut from Chris and was by far the best cut I have ever gotten in my life. I was laughing the whole time loved the atmosphere and great conversation no matter who was talking. It has ruined me because now I don't want to get my haircut from anyone else... Now I'm flying out in April for opening day and you best believe this will be my first stop when I get there not to mention I already picked the hotel closest to the shop. read more

As a former barber, I've been to this shop a couple of times. The first 2 times were great. Both Chris and Jared were extremely professional and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted (former barber approved). However, my most recent experience really let me down on this place. I don't even remember the guy's name from how bad he was, but I remember he had an Iron Cross tattoo on his elbow. If you see him, go with the next barber! He cut one side of my beard lower than the other and doesn't know what he is doing with a straight edge. On top of him doing terribly, I had to cough up $60 total. The cut was so bad, he should've paid me to walk out looking like that. I proceeded to go home and fix his mistakes. Not going back there again. read more
