I dropped 2016 Corolla off for an alignment July 2025. They called me back later that day saying they could not do it until I replaced a ball joint at a cost of $488 if they did the work in addition to the $125 for the alignment. I think the manager failed to remember I had told him I was a mechanic. I returned for the car and confirmed the suspension and and ball joints were solid. I then went to Les Schwab for the alignment and asked them to double-check the suspension and ball joints. They confirmed all was well and the alignment was done. This is just sad and I feel bad for innocent consumers who get ripped off like this. read more

I used to enjoy this location and was pleasantly surprised by how little maintenance we needed. They were honest, informative, and trustworthy. I highly recommended them to many people. Ever since the new manager, Kevin, took over a few years ago, our trust has plummeted. I can see from others' reviews that I'm not the only one, because they used to be rated much more positively. They had the highest rating of any other auto repair shop in the area. Nowadays, whenever we bring our car in, it's as if they're on the hunt for expensive repairs to meet quotas for specific fixes. The repairs are performed with inflated labor hours and parts sometimes marked up by at least 150% above retail. Their labor times regularly run more than twice as long as usual, according to multiple credible sources online. And, that's not all, we've been told we need repairs to recently repaired items that should last many years. We were told we must have new struts in 2019... in 2020... in 2022... and, again today, Kevin insisted on new struts! Magically, the most expensive repairs seem to appear again and again! "This one part is broken," but we need to replace the others, too. The struts are 'lifetime' warranted, yet lo and behold, the labor is hundreds of dollars!This location isn't what it used to be. The only reason to go is for Brian. He's a nice guy, but it's been a long time since we trusted this shop. Goodbye, Kevin et al, your dishonesty and incompetence will no longer be tolerated. Of course, a representative from corporate communications or marketing may surface to respond and reassure me that they care and that these practices are unusual. I have to give Brakes Plus 5 stars primarily for service. My brakes were making a metal on metal sound so they said I could drop it off. I dropped it off at 4 pm on Friday after and and 8:30am the next day I had an estimate. More on that later. The car was ready to pick up on Saturday at 2pm. Little bit of sticker shock but got a 50.00 discount to ease the pain and Yelp had a 10% off prize. read more

If you looked up the definition of incompetent in the dictionary, this place would be it. I came in two weeks ago to get my front brakes replaced and was told it would take an hour to do the job. Two hours later with no parts on hand and several missed meetings later, they finally finished the job. Fast-forward to today and after again being told it would take an hour the manager tells me it takes longer to do brakes than an hour. If it takes longer than an hour to do brakes then you shouldn't tell the customer that it takes an hour and you should have the parts in stock when that customer makes the appointment days in advance. I will be sure to mention to neighbors to stay way clear of this business. And you should too. read more

I brought my jeep in to get a lug nut drilled out. And they did that fine. But forgot to put my brake drum back on and some of the corresponding springs and now I'm spending hundreds and a bunch of time for their mistake. Will absolutely never come back. One star is too much, when they can't put the parts back on they took off. Not to mention that's probably the reason for the loss of break pressure when I rear ended someone shortly after I had them service my car. read more

I went in a little over a week ago because at low speeds, my brakes have started to make a grinding/metal on metal noise that I can feel through the brake pedal. I explained this to the kind gentleman at the front & he said they would call when they took a look at it. I got a call about 40 minutes later that my brakes were just fine, and that all they could really do was flush the brake fluid and do an alignment if I wanted. I drive a less than 5 year old car and the brakes are still grinding and getting worse everyday, so I feel a bit gaslit that I explained exactly what was going on and was told it was fine. I know I chose to spend the money on the brake fluid and alignment, but it feels like $160 down the drain. While I do understand that car trouble is not a mechanic's fault, I am disappointed in the quality of the service. read more

Terrible service. Mechanics don't know how to speak to customers or properly work on vehicles. Charged me $1500 for repairs and labor but failed to do the job correctly. I wouldn't recommend this store at all. Now I have to replace all my tired and luggage nuts due to the alignment not being fixed properly. The existing positive terminal battery cable for our 2005 Ford Expedition had become worn/corroded. I thought that replacing the entire cable was going to be necessary. When I saw what was actually done, I was shocked at how much I was charged - $227!! The cable was not replaced; rather, the end of the cable was cut and a new terminal was attached. The labor charge was $148 and was told that was for an hour. I can't imaging why the work would have taken more than 20 minutes. I believe I was cheated and this type of action perpetuates the perception that automotive repair shops are dishonest, ripoff artists. I called the shop and spoke with the person who prepared my service and he defended this Brakes Plus exorbitant charge. If Brakes Plus really cared about customer service they would have owned up to cheating me. read more

This Brakes Plus location is just awesome. I took my Toyota RAV4 in because of some weird noises which I thought were in the brakes and it ended up having to do with my water pump leaking coolant all over my front wheels underneath. They ordered the new part and gave me an alignment at the same time and my car was in and out with a great price. Very professional and clean environment. Great staff and mechanics are awesome. They actually seem to care about the customers a great deal. I dealt with 3 different people total when I dropped off and picked up and all of them were very pleasant to deal with. I had an outstanding experience with this Brakes Plus location yesterday. I had taken my car to the dealership (I know dealerships usually get a bad wrap but for me it has been a great experience in the past) and they quoted me $800 to replace my rear brakes. On a recently graduated student's budget that was out of the question. So, with 5% of my brakes left, I took my car into Brakes Plus. Just hoping that it would be slightly less expensive. One note, the dealership had told me my rear brakes were low but hadn't mentioned anything about the front brakes... they were incredibly low as well and needed to be replaced, thankfully Brakes Plus caught it and I walked out the door yesterday with front brakes, rear brakes, and a new air filter for a fraction of the dealership's quoted price. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the pads! Holy cow! Plus, the staff was great, they were incredibly friendly and helpful. I will be back, and I highly recommend this shop!!! read more

I brought my car in for an oil change and brake check, The tech brought out a list of over $2k worth of work that my car "needed immediately to be safe to drive". I went to another shop for a second opinion and was told none of those things were needed on me car. From 2002 to 2010 I took four different vehicles to these guys for pretty much everything. But then around 2010 I had a Volkswagen there and one of the guys tried to talk me into doing a new clutch for the transmission telling me it was bad and could go at any time, the estimate was $1800, so I got a second opinion at the dealer. The dealer said that the clutch still seemed good and I drove it for two more years. My experiance with this location was not very good. I had an 11am appointment and had not received a call from them. I finally got a ride to their location to try and just pickup my car when I saw it had still not been looked at after three hours. It was past 3:00 when they finally looked at my car and the advised to change the rear break pads. I finally left with my car at 4:30. Once I arrived at my destination later that night, my break was going all the way to the floor and had we to wait almost two hours to get a ride home due to it snowing and being kate. It cost over $90.00 in Uber fees. They finally fixed my car but overall the service was extremely poor. The manager should of only charges me for parts after that experience, but he decided to put money ahead of making things right. Not a good move when it comes to a situation where you're in fault. I would suggest looking at other places before taking your car here. Not only was it a bad experience, them not properly checking my breaks put me in a very dangerous situation. read more

This location is absolutely deceiving and does not provide the proper service that is expected. I went in to get an oil change and received a report of numerous things that are "wrong" with my car- including an oil leak, the need for an IMMEDIATE replacement of my rear brakes ( I was told I would need to replace them within the next couple of weeks to prevent extreme damage) and a lengthy list of other problems. I took my car into a different and well trusted shop that I have been going to for many years as I usually do not get my repairs done at Brakes Plus . I was disappointed to find out that my mechanic had disagreed with "98% of the list" provided by Brakes Plus .I was told there no was no signs at all of an oil leak and that my rear brakes had over 50% life . This is extremely disappointing as this could have cost me hundreds of dollars. Do not go to this location as the deception is not worth the convenience of location. read more
