Well I made an appointment for my ford e450 class c RV which has been in there shop before; I was very specific with what mechanical work I needed on my specific vehicle and confirmed they could fit it in shop; they said yes we can do that; well I showed up for my appointment and they informed me that they could not and would not work on my vehicle since they could not lift it, seems weird since the spark plugs and coil wires and fuel injectors don't need a lift; my wife was inconvenienced since she showed up to give me a ride home. Poor service. The assistant or main manager whichever he was totally scammed me. He wanted me to give him a 5 star review before he finished my service. I have a TBI and forget things including the fact that the warranty on my vehicle that was fixed cannot be aligned. After years of having different cars it's instinct to get tires rotated you then get an alignment. Instead of him being honest, he attempted an alignment when he knew the problem beforehand so he could make money off of me. This is such despicable behavior from management. The right thing would have been to come to me and explain they can't do an alignment like the manager at the Colorado Springs location did. But this guy wanted his easy quick buck while trying to act like a good guy by explaining my warranty and it hadn't been done. I have the paperwork proving different. Do not go here. My car was fine before the alignment. Now it veers to the right. read more

Total brake failure. I brought my car in 8/7/24 for new brake pads. I live 200 miles away in Granby, over several mountain passes. I got my car, drove for 5 days, then as I was driving on my 65 mph highway, my brakes completely failed. ALL the hydraulic fluid drained out, the caliper became disconnected, the piston fell out. Luckily, I know how to quickly downshift and I didn't crash. If I could give them zero stars I would. The only positive thing I can say is that Brakes Plus paid for my local mechanic to properly repair my brakes, and that I'm still alive. Would not recommend if you want to live. read more

My cars alignment wasn't properly toed inward and they didn't align my steering wheel to the tires, and when I checked my oil it was still black and low(same as before I went in). I went in for a $79.99 oil change and ended having to paying a total of $91.52. BE CAREFUL OF THE LITTLE ADDED CHARGES such as disposal labor which they charge you to dispose of the old oil. I thought that they sold that oil. Then, there is a charge for "fluids/Supplies". This is a charge for cleaning the rags that they use then get cleaned and reuse. Oh, and that cleaning fluid and the rags they get cleaned are taxed. The normal additional amount for an oil change should be only for taxes. So before you get your oil changed here, ask them for the TOTAL cost of your oil change. I truly dislike surprise charges even the minor ones. If you are paying for the rags, they should give them to you since they are taxing you on them. read more

My son took his truck here few days ago with a brake light on. They told him to come back the next day they had all the work for one day. My son returned the next day and they look at his truck to give him a quote. When my son ask when they would be done he was told they had already started the work on his vehicle. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE TAKING YOUR VEHICLE FOR SERVICE AT BRAKES PLUS IN GRAND JUNCTION. Long story short- I took my car to this shop on Monday, May 24. I asked them to look over the car as I was going to be driving quite a distance, and was told it was "fine". Two days later, I blew a tire while driving. I was out of town and did not have the paperwork, but I called the store and asked if they had noticed any damage to the tires previously. They said that yes, they had, and had noted it on the receipt. Truly, I should have read the receipt fully. However. The fact that I was not informed of the damage (so that it could be taken care of) was grossly negligent and could have had fatal consequences had the tire blown in a more dangerous location. When I called the store, they told me they would talk to the workers and see if anyone "fessed up" and leave it at that. I have no particular issue with the workers, who were all very pleasant and I get that things happen. However, the manager was exceptionally rude when I voiced my concerns about the way things are being handled and the way this would be handled in the future. Corporate was much nicer but similarly brushed my concerns off, stating that maybe they'll have a meeting to address the safety concern. I hope they do. Please be cognizant of the blase way this company treats safety hazards and the lack of mitigation available to you when such errors have been made, and choose a different company to give your business to. read more

Charged me for a full synthetic oil change. Oil is the same as it was before I went in. Clearly they did not do the work I requested. Techs were professional, But I'm more than a little unhappy that I got charged nearly $60 for an oil change that wasn't done. Hence the one star review. read more

We brought our Hyundai in for a brake inspection after the dealer garage reported the rear brake pads needed replacement. Within an hour, we were told the pads still had good life in them, but that we should have the brake fluid flushed and changed. This task was quickly completed and we were on our way. The team was very friendly and helpful and we'll return. read more

My car went in for a repair where all 5 studs were replaced (what lug nuts screw on to) it was a almost 800$ for what I could have done in 5$ in parts and 2 hrs labor. Then a few months later three of the studs are broken off so I have it towed back down there cuz I was told by one of the employees who answered the phone that it would be done the next day the next day arrives and a manager gets on the phone and tells me that it's not going to be done that I'm going to have to wait till tomorrow I explain to him I was assured that it was going to be done that day and he said I don't know who told you that but and I asked him isn't that what a manager is supposed to do is to know what's going on on the store and be controlled their employees and what they do and I was hung up on. Very upset with this business very unprofessional and way too expensive I wished I had never gone there. read more

I was visiting town on a Saturday afternoon and needed to get my oil changed before traveling back home. I was able to get right in. While they were working on my car they found problems with my struts and called me to see how they should proceed. I chose to have them fix the problem, but as it was late afternoon they were going to get the work done on Monday. I explained I need to be able to leave to return home for work. They stayed late to get me safely on my way. Great service! read more

Warning! My experience with Brakes Plus across from the Grand Junction CO Walmart wasn't good, and I'd like to warn anyone considering going there. I called to get an oil change. I needed to make an appointment three days in advance. I asked about the price with a coupon for my VW and was quoted a price above the coupon because I needed additional oil. Once there I presented the coupon and was written up for $10 more than I was quoted, which was already $10 more than the coupon. When I checked out after the change that took 2 hours - the charge was still $8 more than I had been written up for. I was told that it was part of their standard disposal fees. Of course all my fluids were topped off and the tire pressure was checked on all my tires. As I drove off about a mile or two from the store my tire pressure warning light came on. I stopped at a gas station to check my tire pressures - my tires that had a max tire pressure rating of 44 lbs with a recommended running pressure of 36 had been deflated all around the car to 30lbs. $1.50 later, for the air pump I had my tire pressure restored. However I also noticed that three of my four hub caps had been only partially tapped into place correctly, with one bending my tire valve badly. This was not the way I had brought my car into the shop. I won't go back, and would never tell anyone to visit this store. If they do go, double check their work and watch your wallet! read more

I went in to get a simple alignment done, they then came back to tell me, "They can't do the alignment whats so ever for me because my upper and lower ball joins were completely shot." I of coarse got a second opinion at Bear Alignment, where I then explained to them what I was told by Brakes Plus. Someone that has been working for them for 30 years checked my ball joints, come to find out they were in perfect condition. They were able to do my SIMPLE alignment and I was on my way. I left 40 miles from Brakes Plus first time I was in there they misdiagnosed the problem with my car it was the ball bearings not the transmission the people were nice and courteous but I got my car fixed the next day at a different place and they knew exactly what the problem was I'm a take my car back to Brakes Plus some time but it won't be for a long time read more

WARNING! These guys are terrible. I went in for a simple oil change and for them to take a look at my brake pads on my Volvo. Not only did they try to over charge me for just the oil change, but they said my brake pads were "metal on metal" and said I needed to get them changed ASAP. My dad and I have always changed our brake pads together so we did them the next day and they brake pads were not even close to "metal on metal." THE WORST PART is the guy at the front was so _____ rude that he decided to yell at me and accuse me of calling him a rapist? Not only was he hitting on my girlfriend the whole time in front of me, he had the worst customer service i have ever seen in my life and decided to argue with me when it was completely unnecessary. DO NOT GO TO BRAKES PLUS! I will never go there for the rest of my life and I hope whoever the gentleman was at the front desk gets released of his duties there. They killed the muffler on my car. When I went to pick it up, the muffler was dragging on the ground. How did someone not notice? I am a fucking idiot when it comes to cars, but I was savvy enough to notice this from the inside of the waiting area. It wasn't like that when I left. To be fair, I drive an older vehicle that has a number of maintenance needs. I'm sure it was hanging by a thread. However, a good mechanic would notice that it needed some attention and let me know. I understand that you discover additional problems once you start working on something. To simply let that pass is not okay. They reattached the hanger and told me that there was a lot of wear and rust. HINT: This is a great opportunity to offer to FIX IT! So now the muffler is not dragging on the ground but is definitely fucked up. It rattles. I guess the alignment and tire rotation was okay though. I am sort of afraid to look, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the bolts aren't tight or something. Trust is key here, people. read more

I had squeaking front breaks on a Mazda. Decided to go to Breaks Plus because, well I would imagine they would be a pro at fixing breaks. They fixed the squeak but immediately after I heard metal rattling/knocking on my front tires/axel. Decided to drive to the front range (4 hours!) to a Mazda dealer who knew what they were doing to fix it b/c I didn't want to mess around with my car. Mazda just called to let me know the hardware wasn't put back on properly, was causing the rattling, and was almost falling off!!! This is dangerous and I'm appalled! Luckily the Mazda dealership will work with me and my warranty and will only charge me $120 to fix. However that's an extra $120 I wasn't prepared on spending right now. read more

Could be that I just experienced the crew on a good day, and I know that sometimes turnover at these places is a regular occurrence, but my experience was phenomenal. I had to have my vehicle towed to them, because I had experienced a flat tire about 5 miles away, and in the process of removing my tire I sheared off one of my lug nuts. Initially they thought they weren't going to be able to help me out, but after diligently taking a look at the problem they realized it wasn't that complicated. Not only did they get it done quickly, but they coordinated with Discount Tire (while I was out of town, I might add) to get my vehicle transported over and I have my tires replaced. The only fee was $39.99, but since I was out of town I wasn't able to pay it. When I finally showed up to pay my bill, they simply gifted the charge to me, so I didn't pay anything.
