**5 stars** We had a fantastic experience with Brakes for Less and won't be going back to Midas after this. My husband used to be loyal to Midas for oil changes and brake work, but during his last visit, they told him he needed new sway bar links to fix a popping sound when backing up or turning. They quoted him **$800**, which seemed outrageous. I suggested he call Brakes for Less, who quoted **$200** instead. But when he brought the car in, they actually checked it out and said the sway bar links were totally fine. They investigated further and found that **Midas hadn't tightened the brake calipers properly**, which was causing the noise. Brakes for Less fixed the issue and only charged us for the additional services we *asked* for--an oil line flush and brake fluid. That's it. We really appreciated their honesty, fair pricing, and great service. Highly recommend Brakes for Less. They saved us hundreds and did the job right. Also shout out to Derrick! read more

What the did was VERY wrong. Within 350 miles the rotors are seriously scored and the pads need replacement. I now need to take the car elsewhere to get the brakes corrected. Stay away. Brakes are too important to leave to these people. read more

Had to recap on my review . Brakes for less was having issues with their lathe , and couldn't resurface my drums. Said they would call once repaired.. and they called as promised and repaired the brake drums..way to go. And the service was still under warranty... didn't cost nothing..... thanks guys for a job well done. read more

My husband took our car in for breaks earlier this week,we have a 2001 Honda....that we really actually waited too long to get new breaks for but anyhow my car is driving like brand new!!!! Sometimes you don't have the money for the good service, my suggestion, wait til you do. had brake pads and back routers done still have grinding and loud squealing noise. went back twice to same location, not fixed. Then went to a different location and was told something else was wrong. Went to a different shop completely, he said the parts are very low end and the brake calipers were not done. I reached out to the main office and got nothing in return. i still have issues and under warranty, they won't replace the parts or refund any work. I went to get a basic 4 wheel brake job and now my brakes sounds like a school bus, the brakes sound like they are worse than before I went to Brakes 4 Less. I would say you get what you pay for but I paid $199 which is what I'd pay somewhere else that would have done the job correctly. of course if I upgraded to the $299 level I would have a no squeak guarantee. I felt pressured after I got a quote on brake replacement for my Jetta. The quote was ridiculous and not what they advertise, sneaky advertising in my opinion. The cheap quote on their website is for them scraping your rotors not replacing them...I told the person working behind the counter that since it was so expensive I would need to talk to my husband about it and he told me go ahead and call him right now. I said absolutely not he's at work and is busy and I will discuss it with him when I get home. I really felt bullied and pressured here. You can replace your breaks and rotors yourself with top of the line performance ones for less than than what Brakes for Less will replace one tire for. If you aren't fortunate enough to know how to do this yourself I recommend firming somewhere else, it's not really "Brakes for Less" read more

Came in a little earlier than appointment, was greeted and got information into their system. They were a little busy when I stopped by, but that's understandable and they let me know and kept me informed of this. Around the time of my scheduled appointment, I went outside with them and they gave me a rundown of what all they'd looked at and examined so far. It was pretty fair and they obviously care about their customers, as car work can be expensive, since they recommended a package that would best suit my needs financially and physically. As someone who doesn't know much about cars and gets anxious in situations like these, as it's kind of like uncharted territory for me personally, I couldn't have been treated better; Joe made sure I was aware of everything they did, of every pricing detail, and accommodated my questions or concerns. The pricing for my rotor and brake pad replacements was fair I felt, and the service was excellent. The internet did go out so that made payment less quick, but that's Spectrum's fault and not the businesses'. If you want affordable brake services with excellent and understanding customer service, I'd recommend this location highly! In fact, two of my coworkers have been here and recommended it to me, which is why I stopped by. If you're on the fence due to some random one-star 2012 reviews, I'd really encourage trying this place before writing it off. read more

These guys, gal and son were awesome. We were evacuating from the path of Hurricane Florence and when we got to Columbia experienced emergency brake problems. Google Explore gave me a list of brake repair shops in the area and only were 2 shops that opened to 6p and it was 4:45p when we needed help. We chose Brakes 4 We got to their shop in 15mins and we driving away with new brakes by 6:08p. It was a stressful situation for us but the staff was friendly, professional, and personable that they helped us relax and we never realized that an hour had gone by. It was time for my car to get the brakes done. I had previously had the rear brakes done so I returned for the front brakes. I had convo with the Caucasian guy in the front and asked the price of the brakes. I was quoted 189 and I told them I wanted the basic cheapest brakes to get me by but was unknowingly upgraded to the Premium package. A 4 wheel brake job was 179 so I was puzzled by the price. When it was done in less than 45 minutes I was told a price of over 200. After arguing with the guy he gave me a 10% discount and proceeded to talk smack with the other guys in the back. I confronted him and they apologized several times while we were arguing and was told to give him a pass this time. I paid my bill and had to ask for my keys several times because I refused to sign the receipt. I left very upset and will never return to this place. If I could give it a .00000000001 of a rating I would. I will publicly post my review for everyone locally and nationally. read more

I came in to get rear rotors resurfaced and rear brake pads based upon the recommendation of a car dealership's inspection. I made an appointment with the Decker location via telephone. I arrived at the location and told the repairman what I needed and his response was that they would need to inspect it because dealerships "don't always find stuff" . That was fine but I made him aware that I was only getting the work that had been recommended. I also informed him of the quote that was given when I made the appointment. He told me they will inspect it and let me know the cost . A few minutes later my car was brought into the garage and the repairman returns to tell me that he "can tell it's going to cost more because of the work that needs to be done". How?! You haven't inspected it?! The man who drove my car into the garage hadn't even exited my car yet! I should have known by the name of the establishment that I would not be pleased. You get what you pay for and customer service and competency are obviously not included. I'll be going back to the dealership. read more

On 4/20/12 was the first time I ever did business with Brakes 4 Less. They offer a brake free inspection but use that as an excuse to convince you other services/parts are needed on your car. Their main goal is to get as much money as possible whether you need the service or not. They are polite while cheating the customer. I would not recommend using Brakes 4 Less because the charge high fees and while I was waiting 2 to 3 previous customers came in stating their car was still squeaking after the work was done in less than a couple of day. read more
