Spring 2025 we finally had Rushing Automotive address an AC leak that was dripping into the passenger floor board. My wife had been driving the car for over 2 years with the AC off dreading a huge bill to repair or replace the compressor or some other expensive repair. So I reached out on Yelp to mechanics regarding my truck and this shop got back to me very quickly. I was able to schedule drop off and even pick up the same day! They did call me to confirm the work before they did it which I think is really considerate. I had an air conditioning issue that I tried to fix myself - and it went as expected. I created another problem on top of the original issue. I called Rushing Automotive on Monday and explained what I suspected - that I had overcharged my A/C. I brought my car to them by 9 a.m. The team there not only fixed the A/C overcharge at no fee, but they diagnosed and found the problem I initially had - my A/C blower/fan had died. The team got the replacement part and installed it within about an hour and a half. The man working the front desk informed me the whole way through and had me out by roughly 11 or 11:15 a.m. The whole ordeal - fixing my mistake and fixing the issue - only cost me about $200. I think that cost is more than fair and was I was relieved I wasn't paying far more given what I was dealing with. The A/C is nice and cold; better yet, I have a shop I now trust to fix some other issues on my vehicle in the coming weeks. P.S. In speaking with the front desk, I learned of a couple of product recalls that they said I could have fixed at no charge by the dealership. They even printed out the listing for each advisory and recall so I would know exactly what to bring up when I went to get the work done. Came in about getting some after market lights installed and Chance was able to help me set an appointment, and then I had some change of plans and they were able to squeeze me in 3 hours before my appointment time. My wife needed prompt auto repairs and I checked yelp to see the top rated mechanics in the Columbia area. I messaged Rushing Automotive on a Friday night and Chip responded by Monday morning. I dropped the car off on Tuesday morning and he called and offered an assessment of the work and provided a general quote that considered parts and labor. What I most respected is that Chip was honest regarding the rear brakes of my wife's car. He said the brakes had some life left in them, rather than replace them and charge me for it. Get there first thing in the morning. I had an A/C problem which they will check for free, but can only do one car at a time. They were very friendly and diagnosed the problem quickly. They laid out all potential solutions not trying to upsell by finding more problems. They let me have the car to run some errands while they ordered the part needed to fix my A/C. I was expecting to be there all day, but both mechanics worked to get me out of there by 1130! Highly recommend! read more

Can't say enough good things about this business. Chip is reliable and honest. I brought my Mazda cx5 in to have the brakes inspected after a Mazda dealership stated that I'd need new brakes next oil change. With an upcoming cross country trip, I didn't want to take any chances. After inspecting my car, Chip let me know that I didn't need brake pads yet but found a very cracked serpentine belt that could've left me stranded. Costs ended up being 1/3 of what I anticipated and felt confident I'd be safe and sound for my trip. A hidden gem in Columbia, SC! Decided to come here after I went to Honda to get my car inspected since I had hit 130k miles. I had two leaks in addition to some other things where the total was close to $4,000 I felt like there's no way they could be right. After talking to the owner over the phone, I dropped my car off Monday evening for it to be inspected by Chip and his crew the next morning. They opened at 8am and by 8:25 Chip called me and we discussed what needed to be done. To my surprise, Chip called me back at 1:15pm saying my car was done!! I have never had such excellent service from an auto shop before. The prices were reasonable and the invoice had the break down of what was being charged and why. I'm new to the area and when my Buick Enclave started throwing all sorts of errors on the console, I tried to take it to a Buick dealer to get fixed as I didn't know where else to go. Two different dealerships both told me there's a 3 week wait and really couldn't have cared less. Is what it is... Looking on Yelp I found Rushing Automotive, checked out their site and other reviews, and even though Buicks weren't specified as their specialty in other reviews, I took a chance and called yesterday afternoon. I spoke with Chip who was extremely professional and straight forward which I like. I was wrong, sure they're known for certain types of cars, but are expert mechanics on domestics as well. I think they became known as experts on a certain type of car because most garages wouldn't be able to fix those cars. Anyway, I dropped it off in the morning, they cleared a multitude of computer issues and the original problem could not be recreated. The car drives perfectly again. They took it out 3 separate times to try to trigger the issue and they couldn't. I went to pick it up and Chip said, "No charge." I drove it home and it was perfect. Even though they're a bit far from my house, if the problem returns or if me or my wife have any other issues with our vehicles, we're bringing them to Rushing Automotive. Been meaning to write this for a long time. In May 2017 we were 500 miles out of town and our van broke down. It needed a radiator, power steering pump and rack. A big repair. Naturally, leaving your vehicle that far away and not being able to monitor the repair with an unknown shop can be expensive and end up bad.
