Spring 2025 we finally had Rushing Automotive address an AC leak that was dripping into the passenger floor board. My wife had been driving the car for over 2 years with the AC off dreading a huge bill to repair or replace the compressor or some other expensive repair. Chip told us to come in for a free AC checkup and once he got them to look at everything, it was a plugged drain line! NO Charge! Can't say enough good things about Rushing Automotive and Chip. Honesty and professional car service and repair is greatly appreciated by me. read more

So I reached out on Yelp to mechanics regarding my truck and this shop got back to me very quickly. I was able to schedule drop off and even pick up the same day! They did call me to confirm the work before they did it which I think is really considerate. After leaving, I went home and googled everything that they did and I genuinely feel like they gave me the services and parts at a fair price. I took my truck in because I'm about to move across the country. You know hauling all of my stuff so I wanted to make sure my truck could make it. I chose this place because of the other amazing yelp reviews. Now I 100% feel better and safer going on this journey thanks to this shop! read more

Rushing Automotive - 2019 Custom - Auto Repair Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

Only talked to them but they were helpful with my questions and what I needed help with

Chip is amazing! We just moved here and my 2013 Acura started to throw codes. I found Rushing after the Acura dealer refused to service car! He kept me informed, recommended additional things, and solved why it was chewing through batteries. Great communication, trustworthy recommendations, and more than fair prices/labor rates. We have a new mechanic! read more

My car had 125k miles and I needed some proactive, preventive maintenance done. I had a list. Chip advised me of some things that I really didn't need and also suggested some things that I should consider. There was no pressure. Having a basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics, I recognized the value of his suggestions and really appreciated his honesty. I had quite a lot of work done and the charges were more than reasonable. Rushing Automotive now has a repeat customer. read more

I cannot say enough. My daughter brought her car in for a repair. Since we are out of state they worked with her and us and quickly repaired it. I highly recommend! read more

I had an air conditioning issue that I tried to fix myself - and it went as expected. I created another problem on top of the original issue. I called Rushing Automotive on Monday and explained what I suspected - that I had overcharged my A/C. I brought my car to them by 9 a.m. The team there not only fixed the A/C overcharge at no fee, but they diagnosed and found the problem I initially had - my A/C blower/fan had died. The team got the replacement part and installed it within about an hour and a half. The man working the front desk informed me the whole way through and had me out by roughly 11 or 11:15 a.m. The whole ordeal - fixing my mistake and fixing the issue - only cost me about $200. I think that cost is more than fair and was I was relieved I wasn't paying far more given what I was dealing with. The A/C is nice and cold; better yet, I have a shop I now trust to fix some other issues on my vehicle in the coming weeks. P.S. In speaking with the front desk, I learned of a couple of product recalls that they said I could have fixed at no charge by the dealership. They even printed out the listing for each advisory and recall so I would know exactly what to bring up when I went to get the work done. TI;dr: Fast, high-quality service at an affordable price and the staff was very informative. read more

Was looking for an auto shop to get some brake work done, as I was tired of dealing with the FRANCHISE service centers and their bs. I went on Yelp to find a new mechanic and in less than twenty four hours I received a response from Chip. I read all the reviews about Rushing Automotive, so I decided to give them a try and glad I did!! Not only was I quoted a very reasonable price, when my car was ready it was even cheaper. In today's climate every little bit saved helps. I appreciate the honesty more than anything and my car drives better! Rushing automotive has gained a new customer for life! Highly recommended!! read more

Great business. Stopped by to have our car inspected before buying it and they did it in 20 minutes for $50. Great service would return if we lived in that area read more

Awesome group of guys. Came in about getting some after market lights installed and Chance was able to help me set an appointment, and then I had some change of plans and they were able to squeeze me in 3 hours before my appointment time. Chip is super nice and very reasonably priced, as a young girl they weren't trying to sell me extra stuff it over charge me which is SOOO nice. If I ever need work done again I will definitely come here again. read more

Class act service and review of the car. Could not have been happier with the results. Will be back !!

My wife needed prompt auto repairs and I checked yelp to see the top rated mechanics in the Columbia area. I messaged Rushing Automotive on a Friday night and Chip responded by Monday morning. I dropped the car off on Tuesday morning and he called and offered an assessment of the work and provided a general quote that considered parts and labor. What I most respected is that Chip was honest regarding the rear brakes of my wife's car. He said the brakes had some life left in them, rather than replace them and charge me for it. Overall, the experience was positive and am glad we had the chance to work with Chip and Rushing Automotive. read more

I was in town to help my adult daughter with a cross-country move; having used Rushing Automotive successfully in the past, I called and spoke to Chip; he was open to bringing the car in w/o an appointment. He checked out the car, said it was in great shape for a cross-country move, after an evaluation he said it was in great shape for a cross-country trip and said the vehicle is in excellent condition, he would not hesitate to have his wife and kids go cross country in this car. N/C for this, amazing!! I will use Rushing Auto again. read more

Honest, competent, fair. What more could you ask of your mechanic? Chip and his team are everything you want your mechanic to be. I'll be using them from now on! read more

Get there first thing in the morning. I had an A/C problem which they will check for free, but can only do one car at a time. They were very friendly and diagnosed the problem quickly. They laid out all potential solutions not trying to upsell by finding more problems. They let me have the car to run some errands while they ordered the part needed to fix my A/C. I was expecting to be there all day, but both mechanics worked to get me out of there by 1130! Highly recommend! read more

Chip business is a must go to. Took care of my car needs and didn't hurt the pockets. Didn't update like most mechanic do. I will be back!!! read more

They did an oil change and tune up on my 2010 Cadillac srx. They did an amazing job on both and the car is riding smoothly.

Can't say enough good things about this business. Chip is reliable and honest. I brought my Mazda cx5 in to have the brakes inspected after a Mazda dealership stated that I'd need new brakes next oil change. With an upcoming cross country trip, I didn't want to take any chances. After inspecting my car, Chip let me know that I didn't need brake pads yet but found a very cracked serpentine belt that could've left me stranded. Costs ended up being 1/3 of what I anticipated and felt confident I'd be safe and sound for my trip. Spoke with another customer that day who said he's been bringing his cars to Chip for years and always has a great experience. Highly recommend!! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Rushing Automotive. I drive a 2006 Saab 9-3 convertible. To say that Saabs are quirky is an understatement. Saab owners know this and understand that you need maintenance and repairs done by those who know Saabs. Rushing OVER delivers on integrity, skill, and customer service. Honest as you'll find. Don't hesitate to have them work on your vehicle regardless of make. read more

Today I went here to have work done as described in my previous post. Chip was able to get me BETTER, name-brand parts with a longer warranty than the "other" shop. And, the total cost for fixing my blower system, water pump, tensioner, and serpentine belt was $514 LESS than the estimate from the "other" shop! Impressive! read more

I needed to have tires installed and was searching for a trustworthy place. I'm so glad I found Rushing Automotive. Not only did I have a great experience, the job was done quick and I didn't have to wait all day. Did I mention the price was good too. Thanks for all you help Chip! read more

Absolutely amazing, only a day and a half to resolve my issue, and it ended up being the exact price they quoted. Also let me know that one of my issues wouldn't actually affect the cars ability and it was an expensive fix, so he gave me a clear option to fix it if I wanted to or that I could opt to not spend all that money. read more

A hidden gem in Columbia, SC! Decided to come here after I went to Honda to get my car inspected since I had hit 130k miles. I had two leaks in addition to some other things where the total was close to $4,000 I felt like there's no way they could be right. After talking to the owner over the phone, I dropped my car off Monday evening for it to be inspected by Chip and his crew the next morning. They opened at 8am and by 8:25 Chip called me and we discussed what needed to be done. To my surprise, Chip called me back at 1:15pm saying my car was done!! I have never had such excellent service from an auto shop before. The prices were reasonable and the invoice had the break down of what was being charged and why. I am a younger lady and it's often intimidating to do anything car related, but this place's service was 100% QUALITY from beginning to end. I definitely will be returning in the future! read more

I'm new to the area and when my Buick Enclave started throwing all sorts of errors on the console, I tried to take it to a Buick dealer to get fixed as I didn't know where else to go. Two different dealerships both told me there's a 3 week wait and really couldn't have cared less. Is what it is... Looking on Yelp I found Rushing Automotive, checked out their site and other reviews, and even though Buicks weren't specified as their specialty in other reviews, I took a chance and called yesterday afternoon. I spoke with Chip who was extremely professional and straight forward which I like. I was wrong, sure they're known for certain types of cars, but are expert mechanics on domestics as well. I think they became known as experts on a certain type of car because most garages wouldn't be able to fix those cars. Anyway, I dropped it off in the morning, they cleared a multitude of computer issues and the original problem could not be recreated. The car drives perfectly again. They took it out 3 separate times to try to trigger the issue and they couldn't. I went to pick it up and Chip said, "No charge." I drove it home and it was perfect. Even though they're a bit far from my house, if the problem returns or if me or my wife have any other issues with our vehicles, we're bringing them to Rushing Automotive. I feel very fortunate to have found them so quickly after moving here as finding honest, professional mechanics can be extremely difficult. Definitely recommend! read more

Thank you Joel. You explained my filters and replacement times well. Quickly changed my oil and recommend a brake change ASAP. Thank you

I love this place for 2 reasons. 1. they were honest, and they didn't try to take advantage of me. 2. Their price was reasonable. I went to the dealership and came back with a $4000 repair report. I was glad that I took my friend's advise and went to Rushing Automotive for a second opinion. They were honest with me about what needed to be done and what didn't need to be done. They fixed all my problems with a very reasonable price. I will definitely go to them from now on if my car has any problem. read more

I've gone to them 4 times and each time I think I have a specific list of issues and each time they have come back and told me I don't have some of them. They could have just done the work and gotten paid. That kind of business ethic is why I trust what they tell me. read more

I'm from New Jersey, so I had no idea where to take my car down here. I looked on Yelp and Google, and found this place had great reviews and I agree! My back rear bulb burnt out and they took my car the day I called and I got it back in two hours, free of charge. I will totally be coming back here in the future! read more

This is the only place in town I'll take my car. They're fast, honest, straight forward, and efficient. As a single woman I really appreciate that there isn't any up selling or fast talking! I've had older cars in the past and I really like that they take that into consideration when making their recommendations. If you're on the fence, try this place first! read more

Great shop. Easy to work with and are very trustworthy. Fixed our Passat's AC and stayed right on quote.

Chip is really helpful and will work with anything you ask of him. Chantz is also really helpful and communicative

Excellent service. Technicians recommended the highest priority items that should be fixed on our old Acura. They completed the work very quickly. And most importantly they were reasonably priced. They accepted my payment by phone and offer a convenient after hours drop off and pick up. Located Right off of I-20. I am willing to drive from my side of town to get good honest service. We will definitely be coming back for future repairs. read more

Chip is such a good mechanic for me. I trust him not to try to take advantage of me as a young woman, and I often ask him if certain things other mechanics suggested are really necessary. He isn't close to me at all, but I will always drive out to use him for my car. read more

OK, I own an older Saab, and these guys rock! Experts in imports, the owner Scott has a real passion for his work. They have never done me wrong. I have gone here twice now to get things fixed on my Saab. A friend recommended them to me since they are Saab experts. Both times I have gone I have received excellent service. They are so informative. I really appreciate that they explain what is wrong and what has to be done and how much each thing costs. They are efficient and friendly as well. I am so glad I was told about Rushing and will continue to go there any time I need something done to my Saab and I will highly recommend them! Thank you guys so much! read more
