My Chevy S-10 died on me in the middle of the night during my move from NC to Arkansas. Fortunately, the local tow truck driver towed me into Black's. That experience is probably the closest I will ever come to a fairy tale existense. Black's could not fix my cracked head gasket, but the employee's bent over backwards to help my wife and me to resolve our issues long-distance. They sheltered my truck and it's precious contents for two weeks while we completed our move and researched our options with regard to the vehicle. Our happily ever after came with an honest Black's employee buying my little truck for his son. Black's made a grand total of $30 off us for diagnosing the mechanical problem. The priceless assistance they provided for free included valuable advice, telephone calls, secure storage, morale boosts, and even off-the-books overtime. There's an unwritten code for small-town life that says a stranger in need becomes family by proxy. I am eternally grateful to my brothers at Black's for taking such good care of my wife and me in our time of need. They could easily taken advantage of us, but they chose instead to give us the ever-after that most people deserve. My wife and I are, by no means, extraordinary. We were driving to the coast from middle Georgia when our OEM 8 year old tires w/ only 24k started to seperate. The vibration was severe and we were not going to make it to our destination. Black's was the closest, so we took the chance. We are very glad we did. When we arrived, it was apparent that is where automotive maintenance and tire replacement happens in Lugoff. They diagnosed the problem, which I suspected, and gave me a fair price on the tires needing replacement. When I had multiple blowouts on my travel trailer, Adam and the staff at Blacks Tire gave me true Southern Hospitality. While my trailer was immobilized at my campsite, they mounted 2 tires on 2 of my rims. I took them back to my trailer, got them mounted and brought the trailer back. Fabulous crew. Got a flat tire while on vacation. Pulled into a bank and who pulls up 30 seconds later, Josh, an employee.
