Professional and HONEST service. I called to get a quote and showed up same day to get service for what I thought I needed on my rear brakes. They reviewed my truck and let me know I had about 60% life left on my brakes and gave me a quick diagnosis on what might be the problem. They did not charge me for the inspection and I was grateful because a lot of places would have just changed the brakes and taken my money. 12/15/2022- I called around and no one could take me in same day. Once I called brake works, I spoke with Louis and he was a HUGE help! Everyone there was so kind and very understanding. My Jeep needed the front breaks replaced and like any mechanical issue you never know really how much you are coming out of pocket to fix it. Once they had a really good look at it I had another part that I needed to pay for but didn't have the expense at the time.. Louis came to the rescue and helped me out with it! 6 stars! I come over to brake works after having my breaks done down the street by a competitor (should've looked at yelp first). Within 20 minutes of the competitor "completing the job" an error message came on. I go back to that shop and they don't have the diagnostic toor to check what the error message means. Brought my car in for a brake pad replacement and they said that I had 50% of my pads left. I'd been hearing a brake chirp and thought I'd was time. At 65k, I still had 50% of my brakes left. They were very honest and said I'm good to go, I offered to pay for their time and they said it's all good, no charge. Honest guys here. Irwin, Ulysses, and owner Luis were communicative, helpful, friendly and appeared reliable. The price quoted I felt was a little high, but I needed my rear brake and rotors replaced ASAP for an upcoming trip. And I went with them anyway because they got it done in an hour, provided a 15,000 mile parts & labor warranty, and didn't try to hard-sell their services on me which I appreciated. Saturday 5/21/22 - Started a brake job at my house and could not get the rear rotor off. After several attempts i called this shop i found on yelp and Luis told me he could help me no problem. Quoted me a good price for a Saturday with no notice or appointment and i was on my way. I limped my car to his shop. He introduced me to his brothers and they all got on my car to start the brake repairs and took great care of me. Never met these guys and never heard of them before today. It's hard to find a trustworthy auto shop this days. I was glad to find Brake works on Yelp. I called on a Saturday asking for availability, and they were available the same day. They asked what was the issue i was experiencing, i told them, when braking at high speeds, my Toyota Sienna will shake. They immediately responded it was the brake rotors. They took the van inside to remove the wheels to conduct a sight diagnostic. They said only the front brake pads needed to be replace and rotors resurfaced. After they provided me with a great price, they asked me if it was okay to proceed with the repair, which of course said 'Yes'. I was only there about an hour, which is great time compare to my previous auto shop experience of 3-4 hours. I highly recommend this auto shop. Can't really rate them because I didn't use them but they were going to charge me over $600.00 just to change my rotors and brake pads on my Mazda 6 2008 when I found another place that did it same day for $240.00. I just bought a truck and of course a mistake made by the previous owner had me paying the price. Originally I was going to call a mobile mechanic but the tow guy suggested I bring it to Brake Works for a free diagnostic. I'm glad I did. The owner was confident that he could get the truck up and running and he knew how to handle it. He was able to locate the problem and gave me a quote within a couple of hours. He was even nice and said I can take it else where if I wanted. I ended up going with him and my truck is back up and running. The lady at the front was very nice, the technicians were transparent about the service I needed on my Silverado, they were efficient and they didn't try to gouge me on the price . So I've brought my car to Luis twice and I'm really happy with the work he does. The first time my brake lights weren't working and he fixed it and charged me nothing. When one of them went out again he said come back same day and fixed it and we haven't had a problem since then. The second time I had a dishonest mechanic that caused some issues with my brakes. They had charged me over $700 for just one caliper, pads, and rotors on the back. Luis has to redo the whole back brake system and for 2 calipers, pads, and rotors on the back he did it for around 350 AND they helped me get financing to help me cover it. I'm really happy with the work they did, they are really sweet, honest people and I'll be bringing my car back there frequently now. Nice to have a mechanic I can trust! read more
