This place probably really is good fro brakes, but as far as I'm concerned they do the same kind of scams and lies that I've expierenced with other chain auto shops. My 1994 Buick LeSabre had problems with the engine losing power, lack of pressure or compression, and stalled at times, and exaugst leak, and a problem with the linkage of some kind, it would click in reverse near the dash, the shifter, and made clicking noise closer to wheels near steering colum when I turn my wheel at low idle like speeds. Well, this shop is nowhere near capable of dealing with these kinds of complexities like I thought. I explained all of these problems to what I'm pretty sure was the manager at the front desk. The 1st thing wrong they did was buy a part and do labor for me without calling and asking me first. I had only authorized them to do what he called the $89. diagnositc, what they charge per hour. So ok fine, but they went ahead and did the exaughst leak repair without my authorization. It was explained that they could not go further with the diagnostic without doing that repair. That was lie #1, it's ludacris. They just say stuff and just think your dumb enough to believe it I guess. They also only did a simple computer code reading, for this complicated complex problem I had that he knew was serious that I desperately wanted to get to the bottom of it, and that's all that he did as far as the engine compression pressure problem or fuel pressure problem. Just tells me the standard nonsense about ok we had these 2 computer codes and this is what they mean, but not one person in that entire building would be willing to put their paycheck on that being the problem. So basically they did not find out what the problem was. They also I'm sure would not deal with their own vehicles the same way. We all know that. What needed to be done on my car was a compression/pressure text on my engine and fuel system, that was not done. My brother told me from now on that you can't be afraid to seem rude to these people. You need to find out precisely exactly what they are going to do. Demand that a compression pressure text be done on both the engine and fuel system, and anything else they are going to check out, because believe me, these guys are lazy and they lie, they will take the easy way out if you let them. Don't be afraid to tell them no a computer reading is not good enough, I want a compression pressure text done on engine and fuel system, be speciifc about what you want. If they look at you with that blank stare or that unenthusiastic attitude take your business somewhere else. The thing that really was bad was they did not even check anything out at all with the clicking in reverse, the gears the steering nothing. Even though they had that in their things to check, they never did check it. When I asked him about that when I showed up to pay, the guy at the desk just told me, oh that could've been something to do wit hthe exaughst. I'm thinking no way did this guy just say that. This was lie #2, this man just told me to my face that they exaust leak they just repaired could have fixed the clicking that was going on that was obviously something to do with my linkage or something when I put my car in reverse. Literally just lied to me, just to take my money and just get rid of me is how it felt. I should've listened to my brother who told me take it to John at Hwy Drive. not to some chain. At least take a car with more complext problems to a Transmission auto repair shop, not a brake auto repair shop. but if it's a chain, not someone you can trust, you know who they are by now, the one's who just go by these computer read outs but won't put their own paychecks on the line if the repair does not fix your problem, because they are scammers, that's their profit model. Find a good family owned local mechanic you can develope a repore with that you can really trust, these guys don't have your best interest in mind, they really don't. They exist to scam you out of your money. but like I said, you can go along way to prevent them from doing that by being specific about what you want done no I want this and that done, and I'd audio record it just put an audio recorder in your shirt pocket record it so you have evidence you know. and if they don't do what they agreed they would to exactly refuse to pay and leave with your car. You really have to be assertive with these guys. I expected these guys to be the professioanls, the experts, to really find the problem. I did not think I had to be specific, I want you pressure texting engine and fuel system, not only telling them what I want, but yeah you have to specifically ask them, ok, so are you guys going to pressure/compression text my engine and fuel system, and see what they say, if they say well no we usually don't do that ask them why not, ifthey agree you have them on recording, any smartphone can record. Avoid this place for complicated repairs ok, thanks. read more
