I can't rave enough about the kindness and generosity that was shown to us today on our trip through Phoenix. My friend and I traveled to Arizona in a road trip from California and had our skid guard under the car loosen up and drag on the road, impeding our ability to drive safely. We pulled into Brake Masters uncertain whether we would be assisted or not with this automotive issue, but to our pleasant surprise we were swiftly attended to by a knowledgeable and helpful gentleman by the name of Mike, who is not the manager but a floater. Ladies, know that feeling when your vehicle lights go on? My ABS light was staying on and I was petrified about the possible outcome of my 2003 Town & Country Van engine and dashboard lights leading to serious $$s. I made an apt with Dave and he and his people spent 2 hours going over it and gave me a clean bill of health and directions on what to do if it happens again. I bought the vehicle new and it has been babied all 70K miles. When ready for the bill I was a little worried but Dave said there would be no charge for today. It has been so long since someone actually cut me a break I actually cried. As a paraplegic woman I get taken to the cleaners on a regular basis. Took a 2019 Buick in for a simple oil change on 09/12/22 in Anthem. The radiator expansion tank overflow hose was broken off when I got it back. It overheated on my way home and then I found out it was a closed pressurized system not the simple overflows from older vehicles. I called to say what happened and was told the manager would be told and they would get back with me. Never heard a word so called the following Monday. Finally got a call on Tuesday from the manager who said his mechanic didn't break it. End of story. I said, if it was broken already when I brought it in why didn't it overheat then? It cost me 337 bucks to get it fixed......it was also interesting when I asked if they were able to rotate the tires. The guy at the counter thought for a minute then said, yes as he had to show the mechanic how to put the car on the lift.....what else don't they know how to do? I will never go back. read more

Have to echo other reviews that these guys are Honest and not trying to find ways to take your $$$. Here is MY PROOF: I have paid a lot of mechanics to change my headlights and no one mentioned this until I went to Brake Masters - again as I was noting that my headlights sure seem to go out a lot (?) - and they showed me that the connection was loose and had a fast/cheap answer - and sent me on my way with a improved headlight that FINALLY won't go out! ** I Wish I had met these guys sooner. I have been going to this location for at least 10 years. They have always been honest and expedient, and the service guys are always super polite. I have taken in everything from a Chevy Duramax truck, a Camaro, a BMW, and a Kia, and they always do a superb job. Will is great and strives to make everyone feel welcome. I called to ask if I could bring my truck in to check the shocks, and they said come right in. Within 20 minutes they had inspected the truck, advised me that they did not have the brand of shock that I wanted, but that if I ordered them they would be glad to install them. I was impressed with that type of service. My short remaining time in the area prevented me from taking them up on their offer, but I will remember them when we are again back in the area. He informed me of the options when it came to the type of rotors I can purchase. He didn't try to upgrade my parts. He let me know my options for me to choose. His honesty and work ethics are 5 star. Broke down on my way up north because of the massive heat wave this week that made my old car overheat (115+ in the area). My car was full of absolutely everything I own and him and his team took such good care of it. I was able to pull in and get it into the bay within ten minutes, and Mike had (what it seemed like) his entire team look at my car to try to figure out if it was okay to drive. Bad - bad - bad. I lived in anthem and was getting ready to move to Portland. I had a fluid leak and went to these guys. They said the radiator reservoir was bad, my power steering was leaking, my head gasket was keeling, my oil pan was leaking. 1, 300.00 . Just had a new motor put in last year. Not wanting any issues on the road I said ok fix the water leak and the head gasket leak. 700 - well six months now and the oil pan is not leaking, the power steering is fine and my water leak is the radiator. They misdiagnosed the issues, over sold the issues, fixed what was not necessary and and charged me over 700 for things I did not need. They may be ok for oil changes anything else - get a second opinion read more

Very thorough, honest, as reasonable as car repairs can get, and hours later, we were on our way to dinner with friends. I have already driven the car for about two weeks, took a 5 hour trip and the brake replacement is sound and I'm more than happy. This was a front rotors and pad replacement. Fairly busy Thursday and I was a walk in. I got processed within minutes by the gentleman working the counter, I went to the gym, and he was pretty quick to hand out the information for me to Understand. He also went above and beyond and added an active coupon to help me out with the job since it was about a $400 dollar job. For the convenience of shops across the nation, availability, and getting my car out by 4:30 and me having arrived at 1pm, I completely appreciated. I've been going to brake masters for awhile now and never had an issue. I've had brakes, rotors, belts, oil changes, etc. done at brake masters in surprise. First time at this location and they really tried to screw me over. Said my "cabin air filter was dirty and needed replacing" for $20. I don't even have a cabin air filter in my car, I took it out myself because it restricted my ac flow. Next they tried to tell me my shocks were leaking and needed replacement, took it to my dealership (under warranty) and they said they looked perfect, no leaks whatsoever. Dealership even let me look at them on the lift. I asked them to check my serpentine belt which was obviously going bad and they said it was fine. Really shady service from this location. I recently had new brakes installed at the dealer. I began to notice a shake when slowing from a higher speed. Dealer completely ignored that the rotors were warped. Brake Master was much closer to my home, and I stopped in to have everything checked. The team at Brake Masters knew right away what was the problem. Great honest shop! I had my rear brakes done here a few years ago... came in today 12/28/16 and had the guaranteed brakes done again... $80 for labor... This was my first visit to Brake Masters and I found them to be honest and creative and genuinely interested in giving me a good value.

The Manager is extremely rude, and unprofessional. I took my car in for a routine serpentine belt change. I arrived before they opened so I could be the first customer of the day. To make this situation more frustrating is I stopped by the day before to line up the service. I was told my Management the belt service would take 30min-1hr. After the 2 hour mark had come and gone I went to the Manager to complain. He stated the belt was not in stock and they had one of their vendors bringing the part. By the time they "really" started to work on the car all the service bays where full with cars. It took them over 2 hours for a promised 30 min to 1 hr. service. When I went to pay the Manager was a jerk, never apologized until I started in no uncertain terms let him know how unhappy I was with the service and his personal skill sets as a Manager and Customer Service. I will never go here again, even if they offered me free oil changes... and in good faith I can not recommend anyone going here because I'm afraid you will receive poor customer service, be late to work or an appointment and the overall quality of the job was only adequate. Any other automotive repair shop in Anthem can do the same work, for a better price and on time. read more

A few years back, I brought my car in for an oil change, and NOTHING ELSE. I specifically told them I wasn't interested in anything else after the counter person tried selling me a bunch of crap I didn't need. I also had my 3 month old daughter with me so I made it very obvious I wasn't looking to stay any longer than I needed to. About 20 mins into waiting, the mechanic came and found me and said that while he was checking on other areas of my car ( which I told them NOT to do) he broke off a hose connected to my fuel injector, and it was going to take 3 days to get the part in, AND THEN.... Tried charging me over $500 for the freaking part. Long story short, I threw a major fit, threatened a lawsuit, had to take a cab home, got the part for free, got the mechanic and manager fired, had the location investigated by the BBB, and never went near that place again. THIS LOCATION IS FULL OF SCAM ARTISTS AND CROOKS. DO NOT GO HERE EVER. read more

I have been working away from home and my wife has had some problems with her truck mainly a noise in the rear end. After taking the car in and spending a large amount of money to fix the issue we were told upon bringing it back in that the issue was not resolved and we now need to look into something else that was going to be very costly as well. I brought my car in a few months back due to a transmission fluid leak. They found the problem to be a broken seal where the driveshaft connects. They were great when it came to fixing the problem but they put the blame on the company which I bought the driveshaft from. They told me the seal had broken as a result of the driveshaft being welded too short but when I got a second opinion I was told that it broke because of old age (car has 200,000 miles) when the people at brake masters removed the driveshaft they had disassembled it at the middle joint. They put the blame on the company who sold me the driveshaft saying it was welded too short but when I brought it in to a separate place for a second opinion they measured the driveshaft and told me it was the correct length. The people at brake masters broke my driveshaft and did not want to take responsibility for it which took $500 for me to replace. The staff here is dishonest and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more
