Tatiana is amazing! I had a beach photoshoot and was very specific in the type of makeup look and hair I wanted. I provided photos to show what I was going for. Tatiana listened to me and made my look better than the photos I provided! I asked for a natural, glowing skin look with beach wave hair. My face was glowing and at the last minute we decided to add a braid to my hair to see if I liked. And I LOVED it!!! And she told me that I could take out the braid at the end of the shoot and I could have a messy wavy look so I'd have 2 hair looks instead of one! You definitely know she has a lot of experience with photoshoots, commercial, weddings etc because she knows how to do your makeup and hair to get the most out of it. I didn't even think I could have two different looks if I took down the braid. Her studio is in Santa Monica but since I was very close to it, she came to my house without an additional cost. She's also very prompt with her communication. Since my shoot was very far away (in Laguna Beach), I was afraid my makeup and hair wouldn't last because I wouldn't have Tatiana with me on location. But it lasted through 1.5 hrs in traffic and 1.5 hrs of shooting in the sun! I ended up wearing my hair and makeup through the whole day after the photoshoot because it looked so good. I haven't had to use powder or reapply anything. My lipstick was gone but that's because I went out to eat after the shoot. She is VERY meticulous! She wants you to be perfect. She will periodically ask you to look to see if you like it or if you want to change something. I would recommend Tatiana to anyone! You will love her! read more

I can't say enough about Tatiana and the Braid Studio team. They were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for my wedding! I was really stressed about finding someone to do my hair and makeup for the big day. I had super high hopes, but also had no idea what I wanted to do because I've never done hair and makeup like this for such an important event. I'm also really indecisive when it comes to big things, so I was pretty worried going in. Then I found Tatiana, and we started off by doing a trial for my engagement photoshoot. She helped me figure out what hair and makeup style would look best based on my style, my face, my hair, and my wedding theme, and she made me feel so much more at ease about the whole thing. She completely exceeded my expectations for the photoshoot and I was really excited for the wedding. On the wedding day, Tatiana and her team showed up early and were ready to go. We had a large group including myself, 8 bridesmaids and the MOB all doing hair and makeup. I also did a second look for the reception. Tatiana made the experience stress free with her great energy. First and foremost, Tatiana is amazing! I initially did not plan on getting hair and makeup done for my bridal shower, but as the date got closer I decided to treat myself, cuz why not look my most gorgeous self for this once in a lifetime celebration? The bridal shower was in April and I only contacted Tatiana in February. Having read the raving reviews about her, I was a little nervous that she might be fully booked for the next 6 months. I kept my fingers crossed as I reached out to her via Yelp. She replied almost immediately and I was so happy that she was still available (phew!). She was very accomodating and willing to switch our start time a few times due to some unexpected changes. Best of all, she was happy to travel to my place and does not charge a ridiculous amount for that. It was insane -- she gave me the most beautiful hairstyle I've ever had in my life. Yes, you read that correctly -- IN MY LIFE. I should not have even worried because Tatiana and her team made my mom feel COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE. My mom has thinning hair and the wedding location was an outdoor venue, but they made her hair look naturally full and able to stay in place throughout the windy night! I decided it was worth the investment--I booked a trial and had so much fun figuring out the look. Tatiana is a real artist and for our trial she took her time to work with me and understand what I was going for--she is also very honest about what is working and what isn't and why (I really appreciated this!) On the day of the wedding Tatiana and her teammate, Marianna also did my bridesmaids' hair and makeup and my mom's hair--everyone looked and felt beautiful! Tatiana is a monolid makeup expert! For Asian girls with monolids like mine, having one's makeup professionally done is absolutely nerve wracking. Either the eyeshadow ends up flush against your eyebrow or your eyelids get taped up into a single fold with an alarming looking toothpick contraption and a tube of eyelash glue. Before my wedding in April 2019, I interviewed several Asian MUA only to discover that they are accustomed to catering to girls who want their eyelids transformed from a monolid to a double eyelid. That may be desirable for some, but I wanted to look like a more presentable version of myself on my wedding day, and not a Kpop star with porcelain skin. However, I don't normally do my hair or make up in my daily life, and I was too rusty to do a high-def picture-perfect look myself. Enter Tatiana, who is a hair and make up wizard! During the trial, she worked with me to create a natural look with light foundation to keep my freckles visible and a warm color palette that complemented my non-traditional dress. She also helped disguise a mole removal scar beneath my collarbones that was only a year old and so noticeably red.
